  • In this paper, we have designed a remote controlable HDR System using all embedded linux board. The system is composed of three parts - a HDR System, a PC client program for remote control and a Nameserver for registering and aquisition of the IP address. The system is built in an embedded board using a linux kernel. With the Linux the system can support networking and file system for a hard disk management In addition, the system embeds a web-server and a ftp-server for remote manipulation and file transfer. And the hardwares of the system are controlled by the linux device driver mechanism. MPEG1/2 technique is used to compress TV tuner signal and external analog video/audio signal. And compressed data is stored in a hard disk. The data stored in the system is accesable through lan or internet. And RTP protocol is used to enable the system to service live stream of instant video/audio input.

  • Recently, research about optimizing network of IBS(Intelligent Building System) is in progress activity. When we install existent building control network using general PC, system's efficiency drops. Because server that is charged with the task process is not and is expensive. Also, CapEx(Capital Expenditure) rises because of setting up the network equipment to integrate different protocol in building system. In this paper, we suggests the embedded web server that has various network structure.

  • The medical imaging processing area with the development of high-speed Internet and the portable embedded system under prevailed ubiquitous environment is quick in research and development for the system that can search and decipher the patient's information in anytime and anywhere. Especially, the new applications demand utilizing scout images besides diagnostic purposes. With the development of ubiquitous system, medical image viewers are utilizing to the hospitals combined with PACS system and Web browser. This paper implements the mobile terminal based medical image viewing system that shows the potential in wireless environment.

  • The present study purposed to design a system that enables the selection and the operation of OPC systems actively while allowing the use of legacy systems as they are. In addition, this study will design a standardized structure of information collected when using OPC protocol and, for this, use not only OPC-DA but also OPC-XMLDA to integrate data.

  • URC(Uniform Resource Identifier) 로봇은 기존의 로봇 자체에서 처리하던 기능을 네트워크를 통하여 외부로 분산시켜 외부의 센싱기능과 프로세싱 기능을 활용하여 효율적으로 구동하기 위한 것이다. 즉 많은 파워가 요구되는 센싱 기능이나 프로세싱 기능을 외부에 있는 서버를 활용하여 서비스를 제공함으로써 간단한 로봇으로도 고도의 서비를 제공이 가능토록하여 가격 경쟁력을 갖도록 하기 위함이다. 본 논문에서는 URC 로봇을 원격에서 모니터링 및 제어가 가능하도록 웹 서비스 기술을 임베디드 시스템 환경에 맞게 최적화하였다. 서비스는 인터넷 기반의 SOAP 프로토콜을 통하여 교환되는 XML 기반 메시지를 통하여 다른 응용 에이전트들과 직접적인 상호작용을 지원함으로서 이기종간 호환 및 표준 플랫폼을 지원할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 URC 시범서비스 참가 로봇인 네토로(한울로보틱스)에 본 연구결과를 적용하여 기능 및 안정성을 검증하였다.

  • In this Paper, a LON based distributed control system for HVAC is described. We developed multi-protocol converter based on SoC, Neuron Chip, embedded Linux. It utilizes the network environment and therefore requires an appropriate operating system for handling protocols and an advanced development environment. The open source licensing, reliability, and broad hardware support are key reasons for use of embedded Linux in embedded industry. The multi-prootocol converter integrates LonWorks devices to a client with Java applet. The system consists of three-tier architecture, such as clients, multi-protocol converter, and LonWorks devices. The experiment result show that multi-protocol converter using embedded Linux is a flexible and effective way to build a Web-based monitoring and control system.

  • 최근 VOD(Video On Demand) 사이트의 이용시간이 급격이 늘어나면서 온라인 멀티미디어 서비스의 요구가 늘어나고 있다. 하지만, 하드웨어 자원이 빈약한 가전 기기 (CE: Consumer Electronics)에서 이러한 서비스를 제공하기에는 잦은 버퍼링으로 인한 서비스 품질 저하, 애플리케이션 업데이트의 불편함 및 안정성 문제 등 많은 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 동적 버퍼 사이즈 결정 기법을 통하여 버퍼 언더런을 최소화 함으로써 동영상 시청 환경을 최적화 한다. 또한 Ajax 기술 기반의 Web OS 플랫폼을 적용하여 모듈 별 업데이트가 가능하고 시스템 안정성을 향상시키도록 플랫폼을 설계 및 구현하고 그 성능을 확인한다.

  • In recent years, numerous mega-sized and complex civil infrastructures are being constructed all over the world. Therefore, more precise construction and maintenance technologies are required for these complicated construction projects. Especially, exact strength measurement and curing process monitoring of the concrete structures are very crucial to confirm the safety and effectiveness of these complicated structures. In this paper, a new Quick Response (QR) code-based concrete strength labeling technique using embedded self-sensing monitoring system is introduced. It is important to note that the QR code-based concrete labeling technique enables easy access of the databases related to the concrete strength at anytime, anywhere, and any smart PC devices. Finally, by integrating the proposed QR code-based concrete labeling with the concrete strength databases already prepared at a designated web-server, a feasibility of the current system is investigated for a next generation concrete life-cycle quality maintenance.

  • Embedded systems and web browsers have started to provide two-dimensional vector graphics features, to finally support scalability of graphics outputs, while traditional graphics systems have focused on the raster and bitmap operations. Nowadays, SVG and Flash are actively used while OpenVG from Khronos group plays the role of a de facto low-level API standard to support them. In this paper, we represent the design and implementation process and the final results of an OpenVG implementation, AlexVG. From its design stage, our implementation aims at the cooperation with SVG-Tiny, another de facto standard for embedded systems. Currently, our overall system provides not only the OpenVG core features but also variety of OpenVG application programs and SVG-Tiny media file playing capabilities. For the conformance with the standard specifications, our system completely passed the whole OpenVG conformance test suites and the graphics output portions of the SVG-Tiny conformance test suites. From the performance point of view, we focused on the efficiency and effectiveness especially on the mobile phones and embedded devices with limited resources. As the result, it showed impressive benchmarks on the small-scale CPU's such as ARM's, even without neither any other libraries nor acceleration hardware.

  • Our country of agriculture suffers problems such as aging, population decline, agricultural decline etc. To solve this problem, in the country, it is interest in Smart Farm System, a convenient and efficient system for the production through the convergence of ICT technology and agriculture. However, because of expensive construction costs and difficulty in securing human resources and training for Operating system, they are struggling to spread the actual farmers. Therefore, it is necessary to develop smart farm techniques suitable for such customized domestic environment. This study designed a system for collecting environment date in a greenhouse based on the low-cost embedded devices, and designed and implemented for the Web application that a user can easily use system. The implementation of the system lowers deployment costs and is expected to increase largely the spread of Smart Farm it can be easily accessed by using the smart phone.
