This study explores the influence of viewing Korean TV drama on the Japanese attitude toward Korea. Especially this study focuses how Japanese's recognition about Korea and Japanese history influence the evaluation of Korean TV drama. This study conducts survey on 250 Japanese female viewers. As result, it was founded that the historical recognition of Japanese have positive effects on viewing evaluation and Korea national image. The findings suggests that the historical recognition with Korea and Japan worked a important factor for Korean dram flow. It is necessary to reconsider cultural-diplomatical policy to rectify the historial recognition.

In this study, we examined how the United States, Chinese, and Japanese viewers perceive the morality of the main characters in the family drama 'Take Care of Mom' and the influence of the perceived morality has on drama enjoyment and quality evaluation. Results show that the viewers from all three countries evaluated 'Hoonjae' favorably and evaluated selfish older brother, 'Hyung Kyu', unfavorably. This means there are common norms that exist in all three countries for judging the good and evil in a drama. However, the main female characters that played opposing characteristics were evaluated differently from all three countries. This is because the relationship between parents and children, and the role of mother and woman were perceived differently from each country. These results support the argument that consumption of drama may differ by viewer's cultural background. Additionally, the research hypothesis that 'moral evaluation of major characters will influence the drama enjoyment and evaluation of the drama quality' was not supported in China and Japan, and was only supported by the U.S. viewers.

As the mobilization of audience' media consumption getting escalating, terrestrial broadcasting, especially public broadcasting is severely affected in Korea. After 9 years' downfall, public broadcasting is trying to aim for citizen platform. Even though the Korean broadcasting law already has the articles of protecting viewer's right and profit, it has some contradictory limits also. Implied by Japanese magazine Taberutsushin, which was originated from CSA model, I suggest the new model of committee for viewers. The new committee for viewers has various planning committees and evaluation committees to ensure citizen's participation on planning, programming, and production. The new committee for viewers would function as minimum system to prompt the public broadcasting to play it's role in rapidly changing digital era.

This paper analyzes an NHK's 'Performances of Reform and Revival'. As a result of analysis, it was focused on reinforcement of the management such as audit, corporate governance, compliance, and thus the accountability was insufficient. Generally speaking, public service broadcasting is the form of organization of mass media that is most directly accountable to society. Therefore, the efforts is required for public service broadcasting to figure out to endow the social roles and responsibilities to themselves differentiated from other commercial broadcasters. And it is necessary that the concrete systems and activities based on an answerability model so that public broadcasters fulfill the accountability. Answerability means that broadcasting organizations and journalists both take account of and are accountable to the public. In such a process, the positive and voluntary civic participation is indispensable.

차원 입체 디스플레이는 시각 정보를 디스플레이에 전달하여, 화면에 표시되는 영상을 시청자로 하여금 3차원적으로 인식하게 하는 디스플레이 장치이다. 이는 현재 상용화가 진행중인 HDTV와 함께 차세대 디스플레이로 주목되었고, 이에 따르는 의료, 광고, 방송, 군사, 영화 등 인접산업으로의 폭넓은 파급효과가 기대되어 일본, 미국, 유럽 등을 중심으로 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 본 고에서는 이러한 3차원 입체 디스플레이의 국내외 기술개발과 시장 동향을 통해, 국내 업계가 관련 원천기술을 확보하고 주력해야 할 분야에 대해 고찰하고자 한다.

This study focuses on how NHK, a Japanese public broadcasting company, has promoted the public interest through the contents of its serial dramas including "morning dramas." Study results indicate that NHK has made utmost efforts to promote public interest in accordance with the programing regulations stipulated in the Japanese Broadcasting Art. The study shows that NHK has adopted policies to protect transitional cultures of the past and to promote new cultures through drama contents. NHK has shown its intention to protect traditional cultures by broadcasting completely not only the values that Japanese people have upheld but also traditional cultures and people's professional spirits of Japan. The study also shows that NHK makes efforts to contribute to community development with the drama contents. It appears that NHK attaches a great importance on its public promise with viewers by early fixing and well observing the broadcasting season, period, and time of morning dramas in an efforts to promote their public interest.

3DTV 방송은 사실감과 현장감을 내포한 콘텐츠를 획득, 압축 및 전송을 통하여 시청자가 실감 인터페이스를 이용해 상호작용을 하면서 3차원 입체 콘텐츠를 자연스럽게 몰입하여 즐기도록 하는 차세대 방송기술로서 선진 각국에서는 이미 활발한 투자와 연구를 진행하고 있으며[1] 미국, 일본 등에서는 3D 영화, 3DTV 등 관련 서비스가 상용화되기 시작하였다. 본 고에서는 3DTV의 본격적인 서비스 도입을 위하여 필수적으로 요구되는 3DTV 방송기술 표준화 및 각국 방송서비스 현황을 살펴본다.

We propose an algorithm for video effects of sports broadcasting that informs TV viewers of a sports player's sequential performing forms and locus in detail when gymnastic game such as 'vault' is broadcasted. It records the image sequences while a player is performing, extracts only the player's performing forms from background scenes by a proposed algorithm, superposes them sequentially on a background scene, and broadcasts them with slow speed. This system named as 'Multi-Motion' has ever been used in NHK live broadcasting for 1995 World Gymnastics Championships held in Japan.
