In-situ Rock Stress Measurement at the Water Tunnel Sites in the OO Oil Storage Facility with Hydraulic Fracturing Method (수압파쇄법을 이용한 OO 원유비축시설 내 수벽 터널에서의 초기응력 측정)

  • The influence of in-situ rock stress on the stability of an underground rock structure increases as the construction depth become deeper and the scale of a rock structure become larger. In general, hydraulic fracturing stress measurement has been performed in the surface boreholes of the target area at the design stage of an underground structure. However, for some areas where the high horizontal stresses were observed or where the overstressed conditions caused by topographical and geological factors are expected, it is desirable to conduct additional in-situ stress measurement in the underground construction site to obtain more detailed stress information for ensuring the stability of a rock structure and the propriety of current design. The study area was a construction site for the additional underground oil storage facility located in the south-east part of OO city, Jeollanam-do. Previous detailed site investigation prior to the design of underground structures revealed that the excessive horizontal stress field with the horizontal stress ratio(K) greater than 3.0 was observed in the construction area. In this study, a total of 13 hydraulic fracturing stress measurements was conducted in two boreholes drill from the two water tunnel sites in the study area. The investigation zone was from 180 m to 300 m in depth from the surface and all of the fracture tracing works were carried out by acoustic televiewer scanning. For some testing intervals at more than 200 m ind depth from surface, the high horizontal stress components the horizontal stress ratio(K) greater than 2.50 were observed. And the overall investigation results showed a good agreement with the previously performed test.

Experimental Study on Bending and Shear Performance of Deck Type Void Slab with Trapezoidal Hollow Ball (사다리꼴 형상의 경량체를 가진 데크형 중공슬래브의 휨 및 전단성능에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, a trapezoidal hollow ball is used, instead of a spherical hollow ball commonly used in void slab, to secure the high hollow ratio in the deck type void slab. The bending and shear performance was measured with consideration for the shape change of the hollow ball. And to confirm the effect of deck plate and truss wire on shear performance, experiments were performed depending on the installation directions of the one-way deck plate. As a result, the bending performance of the deck type void slab with a trapezoidal hollow ball was similar to that of the void slab with a spherical hollow ball. However, according to the data of shear strength examined, the contribution of shear performance enhancement of the truss wire had a more effect on the shear performance of deck type void slab, rather than the influence by changing of the shape of hollow ball. In the previous studies, the shear strength is reduced to about 60%, due to the reduction of the effective section of concrete by installation of hollow ball. But in this experiment, the maximum load of specimen, in which the deck was installed in horizontal direction, so expected to have no influence on the shear performance, was only reduced to about 87%, due to the truss framework of truss wire.

  • 일반적으로 I형 보에 횡하중이 작용하는 경우, 횡 변위와 함께 회전을 동반하는 횡-비틀림 좌굴(Lateral-Torsional Buckling)이 발생하게 된다. 이러한 I형 보의 탄성 및 비탄성 횡-비틀림 좌굴에 대한 해석적 이론적 연구는 이미 많은 연구자들에 의해 수행되었다(Timoshenko 등, 1961; Galambos, 1963; Lindner, 1974; Trahair, 1993). I형 보의 비지지 길이 내 하중이 작용할 때 모멘트 구배계수(Cb)는 하중이 부재 단면에 작용하는 위치에 따라 달라지게 되는데 이를 하중고 효과(Load Height Effects)라고 한다. 탄성 영역 내 비지지길이가 존재하는 I형 보의 하중고 효과를 고려한 모멘트 구배계수 제안식은 Nethercot & Rockey(1971)에 의해 연구된 바 있다. 또한 Helwig 등(1997)은 Nethercot & Rockey(1971)의 제안식을 간략화 하여 탄성 영역 내 비지지길이가 존재하는 I형 보의 하중고 효과를 고려한 모멘트 구배계수식을 제안하였다. 그러나 현재까지 진행 된 하중고 효과에 대한 연구는 탄성 영역 내 비지지 길이가 존재하는 I형 보에 대한 제안식이며 현재까지 비탄성 영역 내 비지지 길이를 갖는 I형 보의 하중고 효과에 대한 연구는 진행된 바 없다. 본 연구는 비탄성 영역 내 비지지 길이가 존재하는 I형 보의 하중고 효과를 고려한 비탄성 횡-비틀림 좌굴강도에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 하중조건으로는 집중하중 과 등분포 하중을 적용시켰으며, 비선형 횡-비틀림 좌굴 해석을 위해 잔류응력 및 초기변형을 고려하였다. Pi와 Trahair(1995)이 고려한 단순직선분포를 잔류응력으로 가정하였으며, 국내 I형강 표준 치수 허용치(현대제철, 2006)에 근거하여 부재 길이의 0.1%를 초기 최대 횡 변위로 적용하여 초기제작오차로 고려하였다. 유한요소해석결과를 바탕으로 Nethercot & Rockey(1971)와 Helwig 등(1997)의 연구내용을 바탕으로 범용구조해석 프로그램(ABAQUS, 2007)을 이용하여 비탄성 영역 내 존재하는 I형보의 횡-비틀림 좌굴강도를 산정하였다. 유한요소해석결과를 바탕으로 Nethercot & Rockey(1971)및 Helwig 등(1997)의 모멘트구배계수 제안식과 비교 분석 하였고 회기분석프로그램 MINITAB(2006)을 이용하여 비탄성 영역 내 비지지길이가 존재하는 I형보의 하중고 효과를 고려한 모멘트구배계수식을 개발 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 제안식은 경제적이고 합리적인 휨부재 강도평가에 적극 활용될 수 있으며, 비탄성 영역내 I형보의 횡-비틀림 좌굴강도 및 휨강도 연구에 널리 활용될 것이다.

Evaluation of Mechanical Test Characteristics of Fillet Welding (필릿 용접의 기계적 시험 특성 평가)

  • FCAW is used mainly in the welding of carbon steel and alloy steel because it can be welded in all positions and can obtain excellent quality at sites with variable working conditions. Recently, many studies in Korea have estimated the fatigue strength, residual stress, and deformation, and to develop a fillet welding process. On the other hand, there have been few studies of the mechanical properties based on the strength, macro and magnetic particle test results for fillet welding. This study shows the following results through fillet welding, macro testing and strength testing using SM490A (solid-structure rolled steel) for thick plates using SS400 (rolled steel) for the upper plate and FCAW. The hardness test, macro test and magnetic particle test were then conducted. The hardness tests showed that all result values were smaller than the KS B 0893 standard values of 350Hv. The macro-test showed that each type of welded part was in a normal organic state and that there were no internal errors, bubbles, or impurities on the front of the welded part. Therefore, there were no concerns about lamination. The magnetic particle examination showed no problems.

  • 마찰식 정미기의 성능에 영향을 미치는 기계설계 및 작동상의 인자로는 스크린의 형태, 롤러의 형태, 롤러회전속도, 출구 저항 등 여러가지가 있다. 이러한 요인들에 대한 연구가 본 논문의 저자에 의해서 시리즈로 연구되어 왔으며, 본 연구는 그의 일환으로 스크린의 단면형상(6각, 8각, 12각 그리고 원통형), 스크린에 뚫려있는 슬랏의 기울기($15^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$ 그리고 $-45^{\circ}$), 그리고 출구 저항이 정백미의 질과 양, 정백효율 그리고 정백실내의 정백압력 등에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위해 수행되었다. 이 실험에 사용된 공시 정미기는 임도정 공장에서 널리 사용되고 있는 흡입마찰식이었며, 사용된 시료는 밀양 23호인 통일계품종이었다. 각 처리마다 동력 소모량과 정백실내의 정백압력을 측정하기 위해서 "KYOWA" 스트레인 게이지 시스템(strain gauge system), 토오크 변환기, 압력변환기 등이 사용되었다. 본 실험 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 정백과정중에 정백실내의 정백압력은 입구에서 가장 높았고 출구쪽으로 갈수록 점차 감소하였다. 평균 정백압력도 순환 횟수에 따라서 변화 하였는데 첫번째 순환에서 가장 높았고 순환횟수가 증가함에 따라 감소하였다. 2) 본 실험에서 사용한 출구저항 수준은 출구저항 수준 1에서 요구되는 정백도의 백미를 얻기 위한 순환 횟수는 2회 이었고 출구저항 수준 2에서는 4회 이었는데, 이를 출구저항 수준이 정백압력, 정백율, 완전미수율 및 도정 효율에 가장 큰 영향을 주었다. 3) 스크린에 뚫려있는 슬랏 각도가 $15^{\circ}$에서 $45^{\circ}$로 증가함에 따라서 정백실내의 평균 정백압력은 감소하였고, 완전미수율과 도정 효율은 증가하였으나, 일반적으로 도정수율은 감소하는 경향을 보였다. $-45^{\circ}$의 슬랏 각도를 가진 스크린에서는 슬랏 각도 $15^{\circ}$인 스크린에서와 거의 비슷한 정백압력 수준을 나타냈으나 완전미와 정백미의 생산은 매우 낮았다. 4) 스크린 표면에 기다란 강편 (보통 "띠"라고 부름)을 붙인 원통과 12각형의 스크린에서는 강편을 붙이지 않은 6각형과 8각형 스크린에서 보다는 비교적 높은 정백압력을 나타냈다. 전자는 후자에 비해서 정백효율은 높았으나 완전미수율은 떨어졌다. 5) 정백실내에서 가장 낮은 정백압력을 나타낸 8각형 스크린은 높은 도정수율과 완전미수율을 가져왔으나 상대적으로 정백효율은 낮게 나타났다. 6) 정백실내의 반경 방향의 평균 정백압력($P_R$)과 완전미수율($Y_h$)은 다음과 같은 1차적인 역비례 관계가 있었으며(평균 정백압력 범위는 0.5-0.9kg/$cm^2$), $Y_h=-28.661P_R+84.860$ ($r^2=0.858$) 정백효율($Y_e$)과 정백압력($P_R$) 사이에는 다음과 같은 2차적인 관계가 존재함을 알 수 있었다. $Y_e=-597.5P_{R^2}+929.96P_R-210.15$ ($r^2=0.759$) 정백효율은 정백압력이 0.7-0.8kg/$cm^2$일 때 가장 높았으며, 이때 변이도 가장 심한 것으로 나타났다.

Development of a programming logic to estimate the wall friction coefficient in vehicle tunnels with piston effects (교통환기력이 작용하는 터널 내 벽면마찰계수 추정을 위한 프로그램 로직 개발)

  • Generally, the total ventilation resistance coefficient in a tunnel consists of inlet/outlet loss coefficient, wall friction coefficient, and other loss coefficient caused by sudden expansion and contraction of cross-section, etc. For the tunnel before opening, when the running ventilation fan is stopped, the wind speed in the tunnel is reduced by the total ventilation resistance drag. The velocity decay method is comparatively stable and easy to estimate the wall friction coefficient in the pre-opening tunnel. However, the existing study reported that when the converging wind speed is a negative value after the ventilation fan stops, it is difficult to estimate the wall friction coefficient according to the velocity decay method. On the other hand, for the operating tunnel in which the piston effect acts, a more complex process is performed; however, a reasonable wall friction coefficient can be estimated. This paper aims at suggesting a method to minimize the measurement variables of the piston effect and reviewing a method that can be applied to the operating tunnel. Also, in this study, a new method has been developed, which enables to calculate an variation of the piston effect if the piston effect is constant with a sudden change of external natural wind occurring while the wind speed in the tunnel decreases after the ventilation fan stops, and a programming logic has been also developed, which enables dynamic simulation analysis in order to estimate the wall friction coefficient in a tunnel.

Development of Reliability-Based Optimum Design of High-Speed Railway Bridges Considering Structure-Rail Longitudinal Interaction and Structure-Vehicle Interaction Using Heuristic Decision Method (Heuristic Decision Method를 이용하여 구조물-궤도 종방향 상호작용 및 구조물-차량 상호작용을 고려한 고속철도 교량의 신뢰성 최적설계 기법 개발)

  • In this study, it is suggested that it has to reliability-based design methodology with respect to bridge structure-rail longitudinal interaction and bridge structure-vehicle interaction. For the structural analysis, commercial package, ABAQUS, are used for a three-dimensional finite element analysis. The optimization process utilizes a well-known optimizer, ADS(Automated Design Synthesis). Optimization technique is utilized the ALM-BFGS method for global area search and Golden Section Method for 1-D search. In general, ALM-BFGS method don't need the 1-D search, and that algorithm converge a 0.1~0.2 of Push-Off factor. But in this study, value of Push-Off factor is used 90, therefore 1-D search should be needed for effective convergency. That algorithm contains the "heuristic decision method". As a result of optimum design of 2-main steel girder birdge with 5${\times}$(1@50m), design methodology suggested in this study was demonstrated more economic and efficient than existing design and LCC optimization not considering bridge-rail longitudinal interaction and bridge-vehicle interaction.

An Effect of $Al_{2}O_{3}$ on the Reaction between Molten Converter Slag and CaO pellet (용융전로(熔融轉爐)슬래그와 CaO펠렛의 상호반응(相互反應)에 미치는 $Al_{2}O_{3}$의 영향(影響))

  • As a basic study on the conversion of molten converter slag to the ordinary portland cement, the effects of $Al_{2}O_{3}$ addition on the interface reaction between solid CaO and molten converter slag has been studied. Alumina added converter slag whose basicity was controlled to 1 and 2 was melted and hold for 30 minutes in MgO crucible at $1500^{\circ}C$. Then sintered CaO pellet heated at the same temperature was dipped into the molten slag and held for 30minutes. After the reaction, the crucible was cooled in air and the specimen was cut off to the horizontal direction of the crucible. The dissolution rate of CaO pellet with the addition of $Al_{2}O_{3}$ was measured by the change of the radius or sintered CaO pellet and the interface layer was observed by SEM/EDX. As a result. At the basicity 2 slag, thickness of created $C_{3}S$ layer increased 3.5 times and quantity of $C_{6}AF_{2}\;or\;C_{4}AF$ phase increase 2 times than baisicy 1 slag.

Identification of Polymorphisms in CAST Gene Associated with Economic Traits in Hanwoo (Bos taurus coreanae) (한우(Bos taurus coreanae)의 CAST 유전자 내 변이지역 탐색 및 경제형질과의 연관성 분석)

  • A number of studies have shown that the calpain system is important in normal skeletal muscle growth. An increased rate of skeletal muscle growth can result from a decreased rate of muscle protein degradation, and this is associated with a decrease in activity of the calpain system, due principally to a large increase in calpastatin (CAST) activity. The CAST gene, mapped to BTA 7, is considered a candidate gene for beef tenderness and muscle growth. The present study used comparative sequencing of five novel polymorphisms located within exon 20 and 22 of the bovine CAST gene in Hanwoo: exon20- 109737G/A, 109749T/C, 109823T/C, exon22- 116151G/A, intron- 109926G/A. The association of the CAST SNPs with economic traits was studied. The 109926G/A showed a significant effect only on the longissimus muscle area (LMA, p<0.05) in Hanwoo. 109926G/A with the genotype GG had a significantly higher effect on LMA (75.35) than the genotype AA (69.6, p<0.05). Also, the 116151G/A showed a significant effect only on weight at 18 months (W18, p<0.05). 116151G/A with the genotype GG had a significantly higher effect on W18 (428.54) than the genotype AA (408.87, p<0.05).

Benign Tumor-Like Developmental Salivary Gland Defect (양성 종양과 유사한 형태를 가진 발육성 타액선 골결손)

  • 50-year-old female and 50-year-old male were referred to the department of the oral and maxillofacial surgery of Kyungpook national university dental hospital with asymptomatic lesions on their posterior mandibular body areas. They were discovered incidentally on panoramic radiographs during routine dental examination. Physical examination revealed no remarkable findings. Each panoramic radiograph showed well defined radiolucent lesions without hyperostotic border on their posterior mandibular body area. At first they were diagnosed as benign tumors because they looked like multilocular pattern and one of the patient showed discontinuity of mandibular canal within the lesion. CT scans demonstrated well demarcated and irregular lingual depression filled with fat tissue and they were diagnosed as developmental salivary gland defects. One of the lesion showed no change on follow-up panoramic radiograph after 4 months. Developmental salivary gland defects resembling benign tumor are atypical cases and it is suggested that confirmatory imaging using CT or MRI should be taken.
