인터넷 GIS는 지리정보 데이타에 대한 접근, 전송, 분석 및 공간데이타를 표현하는 수단으로 인터넷을 이용하는 시스템이다. 본 논문에서는 인터넷 GIS의 개요 및 클라이언트 기반의 인터넷 GIS와 서버 기반의 인터넷 GIS를 분석하고 인터넷 환경에서 사용자의 요구에 의해 실시간으로 지도를 제공하는 GIS Data Server 및 자바를 이용한 MOD 서비스와 TC1-DP를 이용한 MOD 기술 개발에 대하여 기술한다.

최근 인터넷의 급속한 발달로 인하여 GIS는 특정 전문가들의 도구에서 일반인들이 일상생활에서 활용할 수 있는 도구로 변모해 가고 있다. 21세기 인터넷의 사용은 우리 생활의 일부가 될 것이며, 인터넷 GIS의 도입은 우리의 삶을 보다 풍요롭게 하리라 예견된다. 본 글에서는 GIS의 발달과정을 살펴보고, 21세기를 맞이하여 인터넷 GIS의 도입으로 아니하여 행정분야, 교통분야, 문화분야, 주거분야등에 미칠 영향을 예견해 보고, 이미 인터넷 GIS서비스를 제공하고 있는 사이트를 살펴보았다.

As modern public administrations are constructing homepages based on GIS and enhancing public services through interactive communication with their citizens, cyber governance and internet GIS have been conglomerated more than before. As such, the transformation from 'GIS for public management' to 'Internet GIS for cyber governance' is in progress. In the future, cyber governance based on Internet GIS can be a new paradigm for public management. The aim of this study is to look for the applications of internet GISs for cyber governance. For this purpose, the study examines characteristics of cyber governance and internet GIS and analyses similarities between them. Based on this analysis, the study proposes various ways of applying internet GISs for cyber governance.

Internet GIS represents the GIS technique that, by integrating Internet and GIS technique, provides geographic information services through Internet environments, Internet GIS suggests that one can search and analyze spatial data through WWW under the dynamic client/ server computing environments, In this paper we introduce the development of a new address management system using GIS technique and a new address information system using Internet GIS, The new address system, which is based on stress name and building number along the street, is developed to complement the current address system which is based on cadastral system, The new address management system is developed for the management of address change due to establishment of roads, construction and destruction of buildings etc using a GIS, The new address information system presents the Internet GIS system which provides people with geographic and address information. By implementing the new address information system it is possible to share GIS data, increase the efficiency of implementation of GIS system, and maximize its usablity.

하천주변 저지대에 주택이나 공장 등의 시설물 집중과 산지의 개발 및 인구 집중으로 인한 도시화 지역의 증가로 홍수 피해는 더욱 커지고 있다. 특히, 상습침수지구의 주민들은 항상 재해로부터 위험을 느끼고 있으므로 새로운 재해관리체계를 구축하여 이에 대한 확고한 대책이 필요하다. 최근 인터넷 사용의 증가로 많은 사용자들이 웹을 통해 다양한 데이터를 공유하고 있으며, 이러한 추세는 더욱 더 증가할 것이다. 인터넷은 다양한 정보를 네트워크를 통해 사용자에게 실시간으로 제공하고 있으며, 통신기술의 발전, 네트워크 통합화 속에서 그 내용과 방식이 더욱 다양해지고 있다. GIS분야에 있어서도 인터넷 네트워크를 이용하여 분산되어 있는 많은 조직이나 사용자들에게 그 기능과 서비스를 제공하는 추세로 바뀌고 있다. Internet GIS는 원격 지리정보 데이타에 대한 접근, 전송, 분석 및 GIS를 표현하는 수단으로 인터넷을 이용하는 특별한 GIS 도구이다. Internet GIS는 전통적인 GIS 소프트웨어가 가지고 있는 대부분의 기능은 물론 인터넷 및 그와 관련된 WWW 및 FTP 프로토콜의 장점을 가지는 부가적인 기능들을 포함할 수 있다. 이들 부가적인 기능은 원격 데이타 및 응용 프로그램의 교환, 지역 컴퓨터에 GIS 응용 프로그램 없이 GIS 분석 기능을 수행, 인터넷상에서 상호작용하는 지도 및 데이타를 표현하는 기능들을 포함한다. Internet GIS는 객체지향적이고 상호운영적이며, 분산적이라는 주요한 특징을 갖는다. 인터넷에서 각각의 GIS 데이타 및 기능성은 하나의 객체로서 서로 다른 서버에 위치하며 필요시 조합 또는 통합되어 운영된다. Internet GIS를 이용한 상습침수지구 지역정보 제공사이트를 구축하기 위해서는 인터넷으로 서비스 할 수 있는 인터넷용 상습침수지구 GIS기본도를 구축이 필요하다. 인터넷 서비스를 위한 상습침수지구 기본도는 또 다른 형태의 주제도라고 볼 수 있으며, 이를 구축하기 위해서는 자료변환 및 가공이 필요하다. 즉, 각 상습침수지구에 필요한 지형도는 국립지리원에서 제작된 1:5,000 수치지형도가 있으나 이는 자료가 방대하고 상습침수지구에 필요하지 않은 자료들을 많이 포함하고 있으므로 상습침수지구의 데이터를 인터넷을 통해 서비스하기 위해서는 많은 불필요한 레이어의 삭제, 서비스 속도를 고려한 데이터의 일반화작업, 지도의 축소.확대 등 자료제공 방식에 따른 작업 그리고 가시성을 고려한 심볼 및 색채 디자인 등의 작업이 수반되어야 하며, 이들을 고려한 인터넷용 GIS기본도를 신규 제작한다. 상습침수지구와 관련된 각종 GIS데이타와 각 기관이 보유하고 있는 공공정보 가운데 공간정보와 연계되어야 하는 자료를 인터넷 GIS를 이용하여 효율적으로 관리하기 위해서는 단계별 구축전략이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 인터넷 GIS를 이용하여 상습침수구역관련 정보를 검색, 처리 및 분석할 수 있는 상습침수 구역 종합정보화 시스템을 구축토록 하였다.

기존의 GIS는 유무선 인터넷의 급속한 확산과 통신기술의 발달로 인해 새로운 모습으로 탈바꿈하고 있으며, GIS 는 무한한 성장가능성을 내포하고 있다. 그러나 현재 GIS 기반 비즈니스는 오프라인 기업의 지원을 위한 비즈니스모델과 지도판매와 지도 ASP 에만 편중되어 있으며, 인터넷의 4개 영역 (4C: Communication, Commerce, Contents, Community)중 Commerce 영역으로 확대되지 못하였다. 본 연구에서는 현재의 GIS 산업과 비즈니스모델의 문제점을 파악하고, 이를 극복하기 위한 GIS 기반 비즈니스모델의 성공 요인과, 문헌고찰과 실무 인터뷰를 통하여 GIS 기반 비즈니스모델 분류체계를 도출하였고, 실제 타당성이 있는지 사례연구를 통해서 알아보았다. 사례연구결과, 실질적인 GIS 기반 비즈니스모델 체계를 탐색적인 수준에서 분류하였으며, 향후 실증연구를 위해 시사점을 제시하였다.

In accordance with the completion of the spatial database building works in the central and/or local government authorities as well as the rapid popularization of various information services through internet, it is heavily required to provide spatial information services through World Wide Web. To provide a qualified spatial information service, it is crucial to have a Web-based GIS (Geographic Information Service) service system equipped with the publicity, the convenient accessibility, and the easy-to-use user interface. In this paper, we introduce a new component system for Web-based spatial information services based on the OpenGIS Simple Feature specification for OLE/COM[3] and OLE DB specification[4]. The important functionality of a Web-based spatial information service system includes its accessibility of various existing GIS server system and huge databases in addition to the resolution of response-time delay problems caused by transmitting a large amount of digital maps via internet[6]. To cope with these problems, our component system has been designed to access heterogeneous databases in transparent manner and to support vector-based and/or image-based image production techniques for shortening transmission time.

The information & Communication industry including internet is rapidly developing and expanding, which integrates our living space and provides diversity. Internet provides users with an variety of real-time information through networking. Also the functions and services of Geographic Information Systems are on a changing trend providing services for various organizations and users dispersed in different networks. It is necessary to understand that GIS is available not only on a desktop and server, but in any place where the network is connected using the web. Recently, Internet GIS for the search and subscription of spatial informations through the internet is receiving an active research field. So. this study aims to apply the Gas Disaster Management to the internet and develop the internet GIS techniques which make an effective utilization of GIS functions using MapObjects IMS, SDE, and Oracle.

Internet GIS sites are currently being emersed as one of important places to acquire spatial information in stead of traditional paper map. This paper is intended to identify critical factors in evaluating internet GIS site quality. While there should be a considerable number and variety of factors associated with internet GIS site quality, this paper focuses on the site characteristics that generate visitor satisfaction. After carefully reviewing the previous literature of general website evaluation, four criteria that are critical to internet GIS site quality were identified: (1) contents (2) design (3) navigation (4) spatial analysis. An empirical study for a case study site has been conducted to confirm the validity for the four evaluation factors. A site diagnosis by the criteria provided many valuable information for Web site quality. For example, it was found that many symbols in the site made the visitors confusing and navigation interface was not very user-friendly to track required positional information due to inconsistency in terms of cartographic concept. The results indicate that the evaluation criteria may be used not only as a tool to evaluate internet GIS sites, but also as a checklist to improve the quality of a web site that is under development and requires remodelling. As a result, the research findings have established the new concept of ‘the quality assurance of the internet GIS site’, proposed as an initial aim of this paper Many of the issues unresolved in this project could be improved, based on the understanding of the four criteria suggested in this paper.

This paper describe the interpretation of population density of rice pest in 1998 all over the country using GIS technique and the development of Internet GIS for sharing and analyzing information through Internee. Due to the widespread availability of computer network, GIS solution is available to users on your Internet via the web. Through Internet Rice Pest Information System developed visually the related information of rice pest all over the country and also interactive communication with the web interface concerning the existing system which provides simply static map, texts and numerical statement on the internet, the advantages of developed system are visually information, dynamic map, easy user interface and interactive map through the internet. This system provide more effective method of rice pest data to client.
