Simulation Study of a High Current Proton Beam Transport for a 70MeV Cyclotron Injection

  • 70 MeV 사이클로트론의 인젝션 빔 라인은 Multi-CUSP 이온원에서 인출된 H- 빔을 펄스 또는 번칭하여 인플렉터를 통해 사이클로트론의 가속영역인 Dee로 전송하는 역할을 한다. 이 때, 빔을 번칭 시킴으로써 가속효율을 높이고, 손실을 줄여 높은 전류의 빔을 공급할 수 있도록 해야한다. 인젝션 시스템은 einzel lens, chopper, buncher, solenoid 등으로 구성된다. Einzel lens는 빔을 buncher의 중심으로 집속시켜 buncher의 번칭 효율을 높이고, buncher는 전기장을 이용하여 빔을 진행방향으로 집속시키는 기능을 갖는다. Chopper는 번칭된 빔을 일정 주기로 편향을 시켜 펄스 빔의 형태로 전송하는 역할을 한다. 솔레노이드는 적절한 자기장을 이용하여 빔을 집속시켜 인플렉터로 전송한다. 본 연구에서는 사이클로트론의 고전류 인젝션 시스템을 구축하고 각각의 구성요소에서 빔 envelope를 계산하고 비교하였다. SIMION code는 user가 지정한 특성을 가진 개별 입자의 궤도를 추적하는 프로그램으로 인젝션 시스템을 구성하는 각각의 컴포넌트에서의 입자의 진행모습과 buncher를 이용하여 빔의 전송 밀도가 향상됨을 확인하였다. 아울러 TRANSPORT 및 TURTLE 프로그램을 이용하여 SIMION을 통해 계산된 빔의 envelope과 비교하였다.

Operating condition and air pollutant emission when do RPF co-combustion in coal fluid bed boiler (석탄유동층 보일러에 RPF 혼소시 운전조건 및 대기오염물질 배출 특성 변화)

  • Because price of fossil fuel rises, necessity about alternative energy was risen. Studied co-combustion of RPF to coal fluid bed boiler by necessity of these althernative energy. Purpose of this study to coal fluid bed bioler RPF when did co-combustion, change operating condition and characteristic of air pollutant examine according to change of fuel characteristic, operating condition examined about combustion chamber temperature, oxygen content etc. and air pollutant examined about material that is included to allowable exhaust standard and dioxin. Co-combustion condition was 5%. It was no peculiar under test result operating condition. Concentration of Co and HCl rose according as do RPF co-combustion and the other pollutants had hardly changed. Dioxin is low concentration level more than $0.1ng-TEQ/Sm^3$. There was no pollutant that exceed akllowable exhaust standard for boiler but $SO_x,\;NO_x$ were exceeded about allowable exhaust standard for incinerating facility.

  • 본 논문에서는 일본의 (주) 동경전력이 공개한 후쿠시마 제 1 원자력발전소 2 호기 원자로건물 지하에 위치한 S/C (Suppression Chamber) 주변의 Vent 관 조사 동영상들을 분석하였다. S/C 는 donut (환형) 모양의 구조물로 PCV (격납용기) 와 연결된 8 개의 Vent 관을 통해 원자로의 압력을 억제한다. 후쿠시마 사고 원자로의 용융 핵연료를 인출하기 위해서는 원자로 압력용기 및 PCV에 물을 채워서 방사선 선량율을 떨어뜨려야 한다. 물을 채운 후에 누설이 되면 안되기 때문에, PCV 와 S/C 사이에 연결된 Vent 관에 대한 방사능 오염수의 누설지점을 찾는 것이 중요하다. 이를 위한 사전공정으로 (주) 도시바의 4 족보행 로봇 탑재 카메라를 이용하여 8 개 Vent 관 모두를 육안 검사하였다. (주) 동경전력이 공개한 영상을 분석한 결과 고선량 감마선에 의한 Speckle 들이 관측되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 Speckle 분포의 특성을 분석하여 S/C 와 PCV 를 연결하는 8개 Vent 관중 방사능 오염물질이 많은 곳을 특정하고자 하였다.

  • For the enhancement of ECT reliability on the primary water stress corrosion cracks of nuclear steam generator tubes, of which the occurrence is on the increase, it is important to comprehend the signal characteristics on crack morphology and to select an appropriate probe type. In this paper, the sizing accuracy and the detectability for the inner wall axial cracks of tubes were quantitatively evaluated using the following specimens: the electric discharge machined notches and the corrosion cracks which were developed on the operating steam generator tubes. The difference of eddy current signal characteristics between pancake and axial coil were also Investigated. The results obtained from this study provide a useful information for more precise evaluation on the inner wall axial tracks oi stram generator tubes.

A Study on Integrated Multimicroelectrode Array (집적회로형 다중 초미소 전극 배예에 관하여)

  • A new type of multimicroelectrode array has been developed using integrated circuit technology in order to record action potentials from nervous systems. The size and pattern of the electrode array are determined accurately in a frow $\mu$m range by optical photolithogaphy. The electrical characteristics of the integrated microelectrode array were investigated. The practical applications of this electrode array in recording action potentials from a ventral nerve of a cockroach are shown.

  • The PTO (Power Take-Off) shaft for aircraft, with welded construction using multiple thin membranes, was developed in the 1950s to improve the elasticity of the part. As it is lightweight, stable at high speeds, and has good flexibility, it is used in most of the fighter aircraft. It connects the AMAD (aircraft mounted accessory drive) gearbox with the EMAD (engine mounted accessory drive) gearbox and transmits the rotational power between them. It operates in the high speed range of 10,000-18,000 rpm. In this study, the safety of the PTO shaft made of Ti alloy was investigated using finite element analysis, and the ability to transmit power was demonstrated through a high-cycle fatigue test conducted in a laboratory. Further, the life of the ball joints of the aircraft under high-cycle fatigue test conditions was predicted, and the wear characteristics were analyzed.

Fabrication and Characterization of Ge/B-doped Optical Fiber for UV Poling Applications (UV 폴링용 Ge와 B가 첨가된 실리카 유리 광섬유 제조 및 특성 평가)

  • An Ge/B-doped optical fiber with high photosensitivity was fabricated to induce large second-order optical nonlinearity by UV poling. It was found that long period fiber gratings were inscribed on the fiber by the 248 nm KrF excimer laser irradiation with pulse energy of 116 mJ/$cm^2$ and pulse frequency of 10 Hz without hydrogen loading treatment. The photosensitivity was measured by use of the long period fiber grating pair method and the refractive index change of 3.3$10{\times}^{-3}$ was found to be induced in the core of the optical fiber by the KrF excimer laser irradiation of 8.67 kJ/$cm^2$. An H-shaped optical fiber was also fabricated for the UV poling through optimization of the fiber drawing condition.

Construction of Rb Charge Exchange Cell and Characteristic Experiment for He- Ion Production (He음이온 생성을 위한 Rb전하교환기의 제작 및 특성실험)

  • The Rb charge exchange cell is constructed as the He- ion source of the SNU 1.5- MV Tandem Van do Graaff accelerator. The characteristic experiment is carried out in order to determine the optimum operational conditions of the cell. The $He^{+}$ ion beam with the energy of 1~10 keV, extracted from the duoplasmatron ion source, is passed through the Rb vapor to become He- ions by the two step charge exchange reaction, i.e., $He^{+}\;+\;Rb\;{\rightarrow}\;He^{\circ\ast}\;+\;Rb^{+}\;and\;He^{\circ\ast}\;+\;Rb\;{\rightarrow}\;He^{-}\;+\;Rb^{+}$. From the experimental results, it is found that the maximum fractional yield of $He^{-}$ ions is produced at He+ ion energy of 7 keV. The optimum temperatures of the oven and the canal are determined to be $370\;^{\circ}C{\;}and{\;}95^{\circ}C$ respectively. Under the optimum operational condition the maximum fractional yield of $He^{-}$ ions is $2.42\pm0.02%$ This charge exchange cell is proved to be an effective system for the production of He- ions.

구부린 완전결정을 이용한 중성자 단색기의 특성평가

  • Cu 단결정과 다결정 Cu 막대(rod)를 시료로 하여 구부린 완전결정(bent perfect crystal, BPC)을 이용한 중성자 단색기의 특성을 평가함으로써 단결정 회절 및 집합조직 측정장치인 4축 단결정 회절장치(FCD)에 BPC 단색기를 적용할 수 있는지 시험하였다. 측정은 한국원자력연구소의 연구용 원자로인 하나로의 571 수평공에 구성된 test station에서 수행하였다. 단색기와 시료 사이의 거리는 3000mm, 시료와 검출기 사이는 600mm, 단색화빔 인출각도(2θ/sub M/)는 44.6°로 고정하여 FCD와 거의 같은 배치를 구현하였다 직사빔의 단면분포와 강도는 저효율 2차원 위치민감형 검출기(2-D PSD)를 이용하여 확인하였다. 이 검출기는 검출면적 90x90㎟, 공간 분해능 1.2mm, 검출효율 약 1%인 저효율 검출기이다. 회절빔은 검출면적 190x190㎟, 검출효율은 1Å에서 60%인 고효율 2-D PSD를 이용하여 측정하였다. Cu 단결정 측정에 사용한 ePC 단색화 결정은 200×40×3.4㎣ 크기의 Si(220) 슬랩이며, 비대칭 기하로 Si(331)면을 사용하여 파장 λ=0.954Å으로 중성자빔을 단색화시켰다. BPC-Si를 구부려 슬랩의 곡률반경을 변화시키면서 단색기-시료-검출기가 평행배치일 때 Cu(200), (220), (400), (420)면의 rocking curve를 측정하여 각 조건에서의 분해능과 강도를 평가하였다. BPC 단색기를 집합조직 측정에 적용할 수 있는지 시험하기 위하여 다결정 Cu 막대(직경 4.5mm, 길이 18mm)를 시료로 선택하였다. 207x30x3.0㎣ 크기의 Si 슬랩을 단색화 결정으로 사용하였다. 이 슬랩은 다양한 결정면을 이용한 특별한 기하를 구현할 수 있도록 Si(111)면에서 10° 벗어난 면을 절단한 것이다. 비대칭 기하로 Si(311)면을 사용하여 파장 λ=1.253Å의 단색화된 중성자빔으로 측정하였다 BPC-Si를 구부려 슬랩의 곡률반경을 변화시키면서 단색기-시료-검출기가 평행파 반평행배치일 때 Cu(111), (200), (220), (311), (331), (420)면의 회절선을 측정하여 각 조건에서 분해능과 강도를 평가하였다.

  • The steam generator management program(SGMP) has recently defined the procedures for the qualification of eddy current hardware and technique. These procedures provide two basic methods for qualification. The first way is to qualify the equipment or the probe by using the flaw mechanism and method of the pulled tubes from the heat exchangers or the artificial flawed tubes. The second way is to verify the equivalency with the characteristics of the qualified equipment or probe. In this case, the qualified equipment or probe may be modified to substitute or replace instruments or probes without re-qualification provided that the range of essential variables defined in the examination technique specification sheet are met. This study is to describe the result of the comparative performance evaluation of bobbin coil eddy current probes manufactured by KEPCO Research Institute and probes manufactured by a foreign manufacturer. As a result of this study, although there were minor differences between the two kinds of probes, it was evaluated that the two kinds of probes were almost identical in the significant performance characteristics described in the KEPCO Research Institute guideline.
