Study on Safety Management Plan through Chemical Accident Investigation in PCB Manufacturing Facility Etching Process (PCB 제조시설 에칭공정 화학사고 조사를 통한 안전관리 방안 연구)

  • Although the number of chemical accidents has been declining since the Chemical Control Act of 2015, there have been repeated occurrences of similar types of accidents at printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing facilities. These accidents were caused by the overflow of hydrochloric acid and hydrogen peroxide, which are toxic chemicals used in the printed circuit board manufacturing process. An analysis of the $Cl^-$ content to identify the cause of the accident showed that in the mixed route of hydrochloric acid and hydrogen peroxide, which are accidental substances, the $Cl^-$ concentration was 66.85 ppm in the hydrogen peroxide sample. Through reaction experiments, it was confirmed that the deformation of a PVC storage tank and generation of chlorine gas, which is a toxic gas, occurred due to reaction heat occurring up to $50.5^{\circ}C$. This paper proposes a facility safety management plan, including overcharge, overflow prevention, leak detection device, and separation tank design for mixing prevention in printed circuit board manufacturing facility etch process. To prevent the recurrence of accidents of the same type, the necessity of a periodic facility safety inspection and strengthening of the safety education of workers was discussed.

  • In the current era of the global mobile smart device revolution, electronic devices are required in all spaces that people interact with. The establishment of the internet of things (IoT) among smart devices has been recognized as a crucial objective to advance towards creating a comfortable and sustainable future society. In-mold electronic (IME) processes have gained significant industrial significance due to their ability to utilize conventional high-volume methods, which involve printing functional inks on 2D substrates, thermoforming them into 3D shapes, and injection-molded, manufacturing low-cost, lightweight, and functional components or devices. In this article, we provide an overview of IME and its latest advances in application. We review biomimetic nanomaterials for constructing self-supporting biosensor electronic materials on the body, energy storage devices, self-powered devices, and bio-monitoring technology from the perspective of in-mold electronic devices. We anticipate that IME device technology will play a critical role in establishing a human-machine interface (HMI) by converging with the rapidly growing flexible printed electronics technology, which is an integral component of the fourth industrial revolution.

  • Users of computer interfaced with the LAN use the same printer with time sharing. Alternatively, Hey use the multi-user printer interface to print in the office which can't have LAN system due to the great expenses. Otherwise they have to connect directly moving the printer to computer. In this papaer, we present a new printer interface equipment which can interface a printer and multi computers through wireless using the radio frequency of about 430MHz. The tranceivers of the equipment consist of two part: one part is installed in parallel port of computer and other part is installed in Centronix port of printer. Their maximum data rate is 9600bps and the communication area is about 50 meters in best case.

  • Rapid prototyping(RP) is a novel technology to create 3D products directly from CAD system. This study proposes a new RP method which uses the PZT ceramic plate to make a Drop-On-Demand liquid jet from the nozzle. The characteristic of drop formation in the new system is investigated both numerically and experimentally. The optimal drop for 3-D Printing can be obtained by the proper amplitude and frequency of the applied voltage. Also the process of the drop formation is analyzed using the pressure wave theory and verified by numerical simulation. First, the pressure wave generated by the deformation of the Piezo-plate at the nozzle is analyzed by solving the 2D axisymmetric wave equation via Finite Element Method. Finally, the drop formation process is simulated using a commercial software, FLOW 3D considering the pressure at the nozzle obtained by solving the wave equation as the boundary condition.

Separation of Tantalum from Electronic Components on Laptop Printed Circuit Board Assembly (노트북 인쇄회로기판 전자부품으로부터 탄탈럼의 분리)

  • The study to obtain tantalum concentration from electronic components (ECs) on Printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) of laptop was conducted. Electronic components on laptop PCBA were detached from boards by using self-developed experimental apparatus. The detached electronic components were sieved and 93.2 wt.% of tantalum capacitors were concentrated from the size interval from 2.80 mm to 6.35 mm. The tantalum capacitors were pulverized by hammer mill and electrodes (anode and cathode) were removed from the grinding products by using magnetic separators under the magnetic force of 300 Gauss. Finally, tantalum concentrate was concentrated from the magnetic separator products by using Knelson concentrator, and the maximum efficiency of 76.9% was achieved under the operating condition of bowl rotating speed of 200 rpm, and fluidizing water flowrate of 7 L/min. The grade and recovery of Ta concentrate under the condition were 81.1% and 78.8%, respectively.

Energy efficiency standard for imaging equipments using electrophotograph printing (전자사진 기술을 사용하는 이미징 장치의 에너지 효율 기준 연구)

  • In this paper, an efficiency grade standard for imaging equipments using electrophotograph printing such as a printer, copier, fax, and MFD (Multi Function Device) is studied. By emphasizing domestic standby power reduction program's problem, and proposing the necessity of efficiency management, the efficiency standard is developed by reliable data registered in domestic standby power reducing program. To find an efficiency indication for grade, correlation analysis is used and as a result, printing speed has the biggest correlation coefficient. By applying the efficiency indication for grade, the proposed certification standard is established in 1st to 5th level products and super-high-efficiency product (energy frontier) which is better than 1st to 5th level products. If these efficiency standards are chosen by government policies, it is expected to save 65 billion won reduction of energy cost per year.

  • 슈퍼나 소매점등에서 판매되는 상품의 포장을 자세히 살펴보면 흑색과 백색의 줄무늬가 인쇄되어 있는 것을 볼수가 있다. 이것을 bar code라고 하는 데 국명, 메이커명, 상품명등을 수치화하여 하나의 코드로 만들고 그것을 독해하여 가격을 산출하고 정산업무를 신속하고 정확하게 처리하면서 자료를 모아 해석하여 재고 관리, 발주, 매입 업무를 합리화하고 이를 정보 네트워크에 의하여 수요에 대응한 판매를 전개하는 등 물자의 유통관리에 폭넓게 이용되고 있다. 즉 bar code system은 흑색 또는 백색의 굵은 bar와 가는 bar의 구성에 의하여 하나의 성질 (숫자, 기호, 알파벳 문자)을 나타내고 그 연속을 광학식 입력수단을 통하여 하나의 코드에 정리한 자동화된 데이터수집(Automated Data Collection)방법으로 활용되고 있다. 본고에서는 이러한 bar code의 동작, 구성, 인식장치의 원리와 활용사례를 기술하였다.

  • This paper proposes a printing quality inspection system of film-type envelopment. Since the printing system is running at very high-speed (140m/min.) and the line error has very narrow width, we have to choose one-dimensional high-speed and high-resolution line scan camera. The vibration of the printing machine and the illumination environment make the inspection problem more harder. To obtain reliable inspection results, many software image processing techniques are applied and many parameters are tuned. The performance of the proposed system is proved by many simulations and long time real-plant experiments.

Thermal Analysis of Hot Roller in a Dry Film Laminator (건식 필름 적층 성형기에서 고온 롤러의 열해석)

  • The thermal analysis of the hot roller in a dry film laminator is studied numerically by steady-state two-dimensional heat transfer. In the laminating process for PDP glass or PCB, the temperature distributions in a hot roller are presented considering the effects of the roller rotation speed and the inner and outer radii of the roller. The results show that the temperature distributions are strongly dependent on Peclet number. If Pe number becomes larger, the iso-thermal lines are more concentric about the rotating axis and the temperature difference on the hot roller surface decreases exponentially. It also shows that if the contact angle between the roller and the film becomes smaller the temperature difference becomes smaller. However, the changes of the rollers inner or outer radius have little effect on the temperature difference.
