균형과 보행분석을 위한 스마트 인솔의 신뢰도와 타당도 분석 (The Reliability and Validity of Smart Insole for Balance and Gait Analysis)

  • Purpose: The Pedisole is a newly developed shoe-mounted wearable assessment system for analyzing balance and gait. This study aimed to determine the reliability and validity of the parameters provided by the system for static balance and gait analysis of healthy adults. Methods: This study included 38 healthy adults (22.4±1.9 years) with no history of injury in the lower limbs. All participants were asked to perform balance and gait tasks for undertaking measurements. For analysis of balance, both the smart Pedisole and Pedoscan systems were concurrently used to analyze the path length of the center of pressure (COP) and the weight ratio of the left and right for 10 s. Gait was measured using the smart Pedisole and GaitRite walkway systems simultaneously. The participants walked at a self-selected preferred gait speed. The cadence, stance time, swing time, and step time were used to analyze gait characteristics. Using the paired t-test, the intra-class coefficient correlation (ICC) was calculated for reliability. The Spearman correlation was used to assess the validity of the measurements. In total, data for balance from 36 participants and the gait profiles of 37 participants were evaluated. Results: There were significant differences between the COP path lengths (p<.050) derived from the two systems, and a significant correlation was found for COP path length (r=.382~.523) for static balance. The ICC for COP path length and weight ratio was found to be greater than .687, indicating moderate agreement in balance parameters. The ICC of gait parameters was found to be greater than .697 except for stance time, and there was significant correlation (r=.678~.922) with the GaitRite system. Conclusion: The newly developed smart insole-type Pedisole system and the related application are useful, reliable, and valid tools for balance and gait analysis compared to the gold standard Pedoscan and the GaitRite systems in healthy individuals.

스마트 인솔의 족저압 측정 결과에 대한 타당도 및 신뢰도 평가 (Assessment of Validity and Reliability of Plantar Pressure in Smart Insole)

  • Purpose: Smart insoles are wearable devices that are inserted into shoes. Smart insoles with built-in pressure and acceleration sensors can measure the plantar pressure, stride length, and walking speed. This study evaluated the validity and reliability of the plantar pressure measurements of smart insoles during walking on flat ground. Materials and Methods: Twenty one subjects were included in this study. After wearing smart insoles, I-SOL® (Gilon, Seongnam, Korea), the subjects walked a 10 m corridor six times at a rate of 100 steps/min, and the middle three steps, free from direction changes, were chosen for data analysis. The same protocol was repeated after wearing Pedar-X (Novel Corporation, Munich, Germany), an insoletype plantar pressure measurement equipment with proven validity. The average maximum pressure (Ppeak, kPa) and the time at which Ppeak appeared (Ptime, %stride) were calculated for each device. The validity of smart insoles was evaluated by using the interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) of Ppeak and Ptime between the two instruments, and Cronbach's alpha was obtained from the Ppeak values to evaluate the reliability. Results: The ICC of Ppeak was 0.651 (good) in the hallux, 0.744 (good) in the medial forefoot, 0.839 (excellent) in the lateral forefoot, and 0.854 (excellent) in the hindfoot. The ICC of Ptime showed 0.868 (excellent) in the hallux, 0.892 (excellent) in the medial forefoot, 0.721 (good) in the lateral forefoot, and 0.832 (excellent) in the hindfoot. All ICC values showed good or excellent results. The Cronbach's alpha of Ppeak measured in the smart insoles was 0.990 in the hallux, 0.961 in the medial forefoot, 0.973 in the lateral forefoot, and 0.995 in the hindfoot; all indicated excellent reliability in all areas. Conclusion: The plantar pressure measurements of smart insoles during walking on a flat ground showed validity compared to Pedar-X, and high reliability after repeated measurements.

인솔의 아치높이 및 경도 선호도가 정적 아치 높이 및 발목 안정성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Preferred Arch Height and Hardness of the Insole on Static Arch Height and Ankle Stability)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in static arch height and ankle stability according to the preference for insole height and hardness in the arch area. Method: The study participants were 20 adult males (age: 22.7 ± 1.8 yrs., height: 175.3 ± 4.3 cm, body weight: 72.5 ± 7.7 kg). First, the arch heights of all subjects were measured in static postures (sitting and standing). The inversion and eversion movements of the ankle joint were analyzed during walking (1.3 m/s & 1.7 m/s) and running (2.7 m/s & 3.3 m/s). The variables (static arch height, and inversion and eversion angle of ankle joint) were compared by classifying groups according to the preference for the height and hardness of the arch of the insole. First, it was divided into a high arch insole preference group (HAG, n=8) and a low arch insole preference group (LAG, n=12) according to the preference for the arch height of the insole. Second, it was divided into a high hardness insole preference group (HHG, n=7), medium hardness insole preference group (MHG, n=7), and low hardness insole preference group (LHG, n=6), according to the preference for the arch hardness of the insole. Results: First, the range of motion (ROM) of inversion-eversion at the ankle joint during walking was statistically smaller in HAG than in LAG (p<.05). Second, the arch height change of HHG was statistically greater than that of MHG and LHG (p<.05). Conclusion: In the case of flexible flat feet with a large change in arch height, providing a high hardness arch insole that can disperse foot pressure can improve comfort. It was found that people with high medial and lateral sway of the ankle joint preferred a low arch insole, but it is necessary to differentiate and compare the insole heights of the arch part in detail. In addition, in the case of fast motion such as running, the preference for the arch height and hardness of the insole was not related to the static arch height and ankle stability.

중요도·성취도 분석을 통한 주민자치형 유아숲체험장 효용성 평가 - 서울시 금천구를 사례로 - (The Efficiency Evaluation of the Forest Experience Center for Children Led by the Local Community through an Importance Performance Analysis - A Case in Geumcheon-gu District, Seoul, South Korea -)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 효과적인 숲유치원교육을 위한 체험형 운영방식으로서 주민자치형 유아숲체험장의 효용성을 조명하는 것이다. 이를 위해, 12개소의 서울시 유아숲체험장 중 2014년 유일하게 주민자치운영을 한 금천구 유아숲체험장에 대하여 중요도 성취도 분석을 실시하였다. 분석에 필요한 설문자료는 총 36문항으로 공간 시설영역 20문항, 운영 프로그램영역 16문항(주민자치운영영역 6문항 포함)으로 구성하고, 설문조사는 2015년 1월 12일~19일 동안 실시되었다. 설문대상자는 2014년 본 연구대상지에서 숲교육을 담당했던 숲교육전문가 15명과 숲체험 프로그램에 참여했던 19개 보육기관의 당시 인솔교사 50명으로서, 분석자료로 최종 사용된 응답지는 각각 13부, 43부이다. 연구결과, 먼저 공간 시설영역에 대한 중요도, 성취도 평균값은 각각 숲교육전문가가 4.07, 3.78로, 보육기관 교사가 4.16, 3.84로 나타났고, 운영 프로그램영역에 대한 중요도 성취도 평균값은 각각 숲교육전문가가 4.38, 4.16으로, 보육기관 교사가 4.44, 4.00으로 나타났다. 두 집단 모두 공간 시설영역을 운영 프로그램영역보다 낮게, 중요도보다 성취도를 낮게 평가하였다. 두 집단 모두 중요도 성취도가 높아 '지속적인 노력 유지'가 필요한 것으로 평가된 항목들은, 공간 시설영역으로 '접근성', '안전성', '각 공간별 숲길로의 연결성', '개별자연물', '안전시설'의 5개 항목과 운영 프로그램영역으로 주민자치 운영을 통한 '숲교육전문가의 유아행동에 대한 유연성', '숲교육전문가의 진행전문성', 숲프로그램의 '흥미성, 다양성', '유연성', '숲교육전문가의 역할'의 5개 항목으로 나타났다. '숲체험활동의 지원'을 포함한 주민자치운영영역의 항목들은 대부분 '중요하다'라는 평가를 받았지만, '지역활성화 노력'을 포함한 몇 개의 항목들이 성취도측면에서 낮게 평가되었다. 그러나 중요도에서 높은 평가를 받은 만큼, 향후 '우선시정'이 된다면 성취도측면에서 높은 평가가 예상된다. 또한 중요도 성취도 모두 높게 평가된 '숲교육전문가의 역할'을 포함한 프로그램영역이 주민자치운영으로 인해 더 실행가능할 수 있었던 항목이었음을 고려해 보았을 때, 주민자치운영은 긍정적인 평가를 받은 것으로 판단된다. 결과적으로 주민자치에 의한 운영은 체험형 숲유치원교육을 위한 유아숲체험장의 운영방식으로서 그 효용성이 있으며, 앞으로 이러한 운영방식이 '지속적인 노력'과 '우선시정'을 할 수 있는 지속성을 갖출 때, 주민자치형 유아숲체험장은 효율적인 체험형 숲유치원교육을 위한 대안이 될 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.
