Estimating the Growth Rate of Inbound Air Travelers to Jeju with ARIMA Time-Series - Using Golf Course Visitor Data - (ARIMA 시계열 모형을 이용한 제주도 인바운드 항공여객 증가율 예측 연구 - 제주지역 골프장 내장객 현황 데이터를 활용하여 -)

  • This paper used the golf course visitors' data in Jeju region to forecast the growth of inbound air traveler to Jeju. This is because the golf course visitors were proven to bring the highest economic and production inducement effect to the Jeju region. Based on such a data, this paper forecast the short-term growth rate of inbound air traveler using ARIMA to the Jeju until December 2025. According to ARIMA (0,1,0) (0,1,1) model, it was analyzed that the monthly number of golf course visitors to Jeju has been increasing steadily even since COVID-19 pandemic and the number is expected to grow until the end of 2025. Applying the same parameters of ARIMA (0,1,0) (0,1,1) to inbound air travel data, it was found the growth rate of inbound air travelers would be higher than the growth rate of 2019 shortly without moderate variation even though the monthly number of inbound travelers to Jeju had been dropped during COVID-19 pandemic.

A Research on the Cabin Service Quality Factors in a National Carrier affecting Overseas Tourist's Experience and Satisfactiont (여객의 해외여행 관광지 관광체험과 관광만족에 영향을 미치는 국적항공사 객실서비스 품질 요인 연구)

  • This study analyzed empirically the effects of the perception of outbound passengers, who flew from Korea to overseas tourist destinations, on the cabin service quality, tourist experience, and tourist satisfaction. For empirical analysis, a survey was given to Korean passengers using a national carrier of South Korea. Based on empirical analysis, the researchers judged that the analysis results and implications could be applied to inbound foreign passengers who visited Korea for the tourism purposes if researchers generated significant results from empirical analysis. This paper designed a research model that represented the meaningful relationship among, airline cabin-service quality, tourist experience, and tourist satisfaction following preceding research. According to the analysis, that factors that consisted of the cabin service quality had a significant effect on the tourist satisfaction with a mediating effect of both the cognitive and emotional tourist experience. Therefore, the perception on airline's cabin service quality of the national carrier would be a starting point that can help improve the tourist satisfaction.

A Study for Increasing Satisfaction of Transfer Facilities, Services & Transit Tour by Analyzing Air Passengers' Behaviors (항공여객 특성분석을 통한 환승시설·서비스 및 환승투어 만족도 제고 연구)

  • The volume of transfer passengers now faces a crisis because the number of Chinese and Japanese passengers, the majority of transfer through Korea, is decreasing. This paper is analyzing the their air travel behaviors as well as characteristics of their transfer behaviors at airport. According to the research, it is suggested that transfer passengers perceive the importance of duty-free stores but their satisfaction of using duty-free stores during their transfer at Icheon airport was proven to be low. Considering the characteristics of transfer service quality at Incheon airport, waiting time of transfer is important but not satisfactory for them. Moreover, information of free transfer tour to city downtown and paid-in transfer tour for medical tourism is not known very well among North East Asian passengers. Thus, it is necessary to do detailed research of North East Asian transfer passengers, who have transferred through Incheon airport more than twice a year, to find out their exact needs of transfer tour in Korea.
