가구구조의 변동과 시.도별 가구수 추계

  • 가구는 주택과 내구소비재 구입의 단위가 되기 때문에 장래의 가구수에 대한 자료는 정부가 주택정책을 수립하거나, 기업체가 가전제품이나 가구를 생산하는 장기 계획을 짜는 데 필요불가결한 정보 중 하나이다. 우리 나라는 현재 심각한 주택난을 겪고 있으며 이 주택난은 가구의 급증과 떼어 놓고 생각할 수 없다. 최근 우리 나라의 주택난 해소에 대한 합리적인 대책을 수립하자면 정확하고 상세한 가구추계가 요청된다. 그리고 경제적으로 취약한 계층인 노년인구가 급증하고 있는 것과 관련해서 노인가구의 증가가 예상되고 있는데 이들을 대상으로 하는 각종 사회복지정책의 수립에는 전반적인 가구구조와 노인가구에 관한 정확한 예측이 절실하게 요청되고 있다. 본 연구는 단순한 가구수 추계뿐만 아니라 가구구조 및 혼인상태별로 다양하게 가구수를 추계할 수 있는 비교적 간편하면서도 신뢰성을 인정받고 있는 고노(Kono)의 확장된 가구주율법을 사용하고 최근의 센서스 자료를 활용하여 가구수 추계를 실시하였다. 이 연구에서는 지난 30년간의 가구구조의 변동을 분석하고 1990년 이후 10년간 우리 나라의 시·도별 가구수를 전망하며, 노인가구를 위시한 가구형태별, 가구규모 및 혼인상태별로 가구수를 추계하고 있다. 아무쪼록 이 연구결과가 지방자치화에 따른 지역 주택정책 수립 및 노인복지 등 각종 사회복지정책의 수립에 필요한 자료로써 널리 활용되기를 바란다.

  • 국외에서 잘 알려진 Hazus-MH, RiskScape와 같은 자연재난 리스크 모델은 위험지역 내 노출된 자산과 인구의 공간적 분포 및 그 특성을 설명하는 지형공간자료 형태의 자산정보(인벤토리)를 필요로 한다. 본 연구는 이러한 자연재난 리스크 모델 운용에 필요한 건물, 인구, 농업, 차량 인벤토리 데이터 구조를 국내에서 가용가능한 자료를 기반으로 설계하고, 이들을 연계, 변환하기 위한 툴을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 자동변환 툴은 오픈소스로 제공되는 QGIS를 기반으로 하였고, 개발 툴을 이용하여 2018년 말 기준의 인벤토리를 전국에 대해 구축하였다. 본 연구의 성과는 현재 시범운용 중인 행정안전부 풍수해 피해예측시스템을 비롯한 자연재난 리스크 모델링 과정에 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

Using Time Use Data for Weighting Internet Survey Results (생활시간 조사를 이용한 가중치 부여방법: 인터넷 조사에 대한 적용 가능성 검토)

  • There are limitations as to how internet surveys can be used. Applying various weighting procedures has not always resulted in error reduction. A good reference survey would increase the effects of the weighting method, but it is very difficult to get a reference survey for non-demographic weighting variables, which restricts the use of internet surveys. We hypothesized that time use variables could be employed as weighting variables. The time use survey is conducted regularly by KOSTAT and includes various time-related variables. We tested our hypothesis using the 2009 survey results, which had been gathered by KOSTAT in 2009. When we applied weighting variables which were based on the 2004 time use survey results to the online version of the 2009 KOSTAT social survey, the gap between the online and off-line versions was slightly reduced. This result shows that we could use time use survey results to develop a better weighting scheme.

Korean Demography 30 Years: Challenges and Prospects (한국인구학 30년: 도전과 과제)

  • Demography has grown as an independent academic discipline in Korea during past 30 years by describing and examining changes of population components such as fertility, mortality, migration, and census, and the "Population Association of Korea" stands on the midst of the growth. High fertility of the 1960s and 70s, which was considered as a hurdle of economic growth, particularly boosted the prosper of demography in Korea by inviting a number of non-demographers as well as demographers to population-related research projects. However, as fertility gradually decreases and becomes no-threat anymore beginning the early 1990s, social interests in demography has withered to lose its academic soils in Korea. A recent phenomenon of the lowest low fertility has revived social need and interest in demography. Unfortunately, once curtailed capacity of Korean demography is not sufficient enough to provide academic and/or practical resources now. This research is conducted to cerebrate the 30th anniversary of "Population Association of Korea" and to seek ways to cultivate academic soils again and to rebuild the capacity of demography in Korea. To do this, this research examines the causes of current struggles of Korean demography by comparing its academic environments with that of America, and offers suggestions for its brighter future.

An Explorator Spatial Analysis of Shigellosis (세균성 이질의 탐색적 공간분석)

  • 세균성 이질은 국내 제1종 법정 전염병으로 분류되어 관리되고 있는 질환으로서 1998년 이후 그 발병 사례가 급속히 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 1999년 3월 부산시 사상구에서 집단 발병한 세균성 이질을 대상으로 하여, 각 환자들의 발병 시점과 장소의 분포패턴에 대한 지리학적 고찰을 목적으로 한다. 환자분포의 특징적 공간패턴과 그들의 시계열적 확산 양상 등을 탐색하기 위한 방법론은 보건지리학과 지도학 및 공간통계학에 기반을 둔 공간분석기법을 중심으로 설정하였다. 분석자료는 해당 지역의 수치지형도, 지적도, 인구 센서스 자료를 포함한 GIS 데이터베이스로 구축되었다. 인구분포를 감안한 밀도구분도를 바탕으로 개별환자의 위치자료와 동 단위로 집계된 자료를 자료의 형태에 따라 분석기법을 달리하였으며, 환자 발생 밀도, 상대적 위험지수 등을 지도화하여 역학자료의 시각적 통계적 분석을 수행하였다. 환자분포의 공간적 중심위치와 분산의 변화 등 기술적 통계분석과 함께 제1차 공간속성을 커널추정법으로 찾아보았다. 이와 더불어 ‘공간적 의존성’과 관련된 제2차 공간속성은 K-함수와 시뮬레이션을 통해 분석하여 군집성 등이 통계적으로 확인되었다. 본 연구를 통해 역학조사시 GIS의 활용사례가 제시되었으며, 모집단 인구를 고려한 확률지도 작성 기법과 다양한 데이터 가시화 방법, 그리고 시계열별 발생 환자들의 지리적 변이를 분석 하는데 따르는 문제들이 논의되었다.

Comparison of Resident Register With Census Data According to Age Groups (주민등록자료와 인구주택총조사의 연령별 비교에 관한 연구)

  • To estimate the usability of resident register for the statistical purpose this study compares resident register with census data. The comparison shows that the differences between resident register and census data are closely related with life cycle. Among the aged the incorrect registration is supposed as the main cause for the difference, while among the other age groups the problems rise mainly from their social and economic activities. Especially among the age group between 15 and 24 level of the difference is very high, which results from university entrance and employment. This result confirms the importance of the comparison between these data according to age groups. The structural character of this difference suggests that the difference can be explained and reduced through policies.

  • with the increasing popularity of regional studies, the importance of regional data has been recognized dramatically in recent years. However, due to potential problems from the intrinsic characteristics of aggregate regional data for the research, and incompatible regional units between source and target regional data units, the method for reorganizing the regional data units for a given research analysis should be required. In this regard, the purpose of this research is to review the significant interpolation methods for reorganizing the data units and, based on it, to propose the population weighted interpolation method. For the first purpose, areal weighted interpolation method, pycnophylactic method, dasymetric method, area-to-point method were reviewed. The proposed population-weighted interpolation method was applied to the case study of population census regional data in Erie County, NY, compared with areal weighted interpolation method, pycnophylactic method in terms of several statistical characteristics.

Population Distribution Estimation Using Regression-Kriging Model (Regression-Kriging 모형을 이용한 인구분포 추정에 관한 연구)

  • Population data has been essential and fundamental in spatial analysis and commonly aggregated into political boundaries. A conventional method for population distribution estimation was a regression model with land use data, but the estimation process has limitation because of spatial autocorrelation of the population data. This study aimed to improve the accuracy of population distribution estimation by adopting a Regression-Kriging method, namely RK Model, which combines a regression model with Kriging for the residuals. RK Model was applied to a part of Seoul metropolitan area to estimate population distribution based on the residential zones. Comparative results of regression model and RK model using RMSE, MAE, and G statistics revealed that RK model could substantially improve the accuracy of population distribution. It is expected that RK model could be adopted actively for further population distribution estimation.

The Changing Spatial Patterns of Aging Population in Korea (한국 인구고령화의 지역적 전개 양상)

  • This paper intends to examine spatial patterns and regional variations of aging population in Korea based on census data for 163 areas during 1980~2010. It briefly investigates general characteristics of aging population in Korea from previous studies and clarifies spatial patterns of aging process at regional level with reference of population growth rate at different time periods. Cities in Korea are classified into several stages including aging society, aged society and super-aged society according to the percentages of aging population out of total population every five years. At the regional scale, the stage of aging society was revealed from 1980, while the stage of aged society was shown from 1995 and super-aged society was entered from 2000 in Korea. Eighty cities in the analysis were shown at the stage of super-aged society in 2010. The portions of aging population are highly related to city size and population growth rate. For instance, the cities both in small size and with low population growth rate are revealing high percentage of aging population. As of 2010, most rural areas are staged into super-aged society, while most cities within Seoul metropolitan area and mid-sized cities are kept in the stage of aging society. At regional scale, there are no significant statistical correlations between total fertility rate and aging population.

Representation of Population Distribution based on Residential Building Types by using the Dasymetric Mapping in Seoul (대시메트릭 매핑 기법을 이용한 서울시 건축물별 주거인구밀도의 재현)

  • The aim of this study is to represent the residential population distribution in Seoul, Korea more precisely through the dasymetric mapping method. Dasymetric mapping can be defined as a mapping method to calculate details from truncated spatial distribution of main statistical data by using ancillary data which is spatial data related to the main data. In this research, there are two types of data used for dasymetric mapping: the population data (2010) based on a output area survey in Seoul as the main data and the building footprint data including register information as ancillary spatial data. Using the binary method, it extracts residential buildings as actual areas where residents do live in. After that, the regression method is used for calculating the weights on population density by considering the building types and their gross floor areas. Finally, it can be reproduced three-dimensional density of residential population and drew a detailed dasymetric map. As a result, this allows to extract a more realistic calculating model of population distribution and draw a more accurate map of population distribution in Seoul. Therefore, this study has an important meaning as a source which can be applied in various researches concerning regional population in the future.
