This study was developed to test the effectiveness catechin beverage drinking as exercise supplementary food for obese women. The effects of catekin were determined by weight, total cholesterol, triglycerides, High density lipoprotein cholesterol, high density lipoprotein cholesterol. Twenty-seven obese women were participated in this study. Eight women were tea catechin drinking group, Nine women were exercise group, and ten women were tea catekin drinking-combined with exercise group. After catechin drinking or exercise conducted, blood lipid factor were analyzed. body weight and triglycerides low density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were significantly decreased in tea catekin drinking combined with exercise group (p<0.001) and exercise group (p<0.001). total cholesterol were significantly decreased in three groups (p<0.05). It is thought that together catechin drinking and exercise can maximize weight loss of obese woman and reducing of blood lipid factor.
This study reviews various aspects of model formulating processes of dichotomous choice responses of the contingent valuation method (CVM), which has been increasingly used in the preliminary feasibility test of Korea public investment projects. The theoretical review emphasizes the consistency between WTP estimation process and WTP measurement process. The empirical analysis suggests that two common parametric models for dichotmous choice responses (RUM and RWTP) and two commonly used probability distributions of random components (probit and logit) resulted in all most the same empirical WTP distributions, as long as the WTP functions are specified to be a linear function of the bid amounts. However, the efficiency gain of DB response compared to SB response were supported on the ground that the two CV responses are derived from the same WTP distribution. Moreover for the exponential WTP function which guarantees the non-negative WTP measures, sample mean WTP were quite different from median WTP if the scale parameter of WTP function turned out to be large.
Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) is a branch of fluid mechanics that solves partial differential equations which represent fluid flows by a set of algebraic equations using computers. Even though it requires multifarious variables, only selected ones are stored because of the lack of storage capacity. It causes the requirement of secondary variable calculations at analyzing time. In this paper, we suggest an efficient method to estimate optimal calculation paths for secondary variables. First, we suggest a converting technique from a dependency graph to a ordinary directed graph. We also suggest a technique to find the shortest path from any initial variables to target variables. We applied our method to a tool for data analysis and visualization to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed method.

This paper presents the reduction of the positional uncertainty of an ultrasonic sensor ring with overlapped beam pattern for the efficient obstacle detection of a mobile robot. Basically, it is assumed that a relatively small number of inexpensive low directivity ultrasonic sensors are installed at regular spacings along the side of a circular mobile robot with their beams overlapped. First, for both single and double obstacles, we show that the positional uncertainty inherent to an ultrasonic sensor can be reduced using the overlapped beam pattern, and also quantify the relative improvement in positional uncertainty. Second, given measured distance data from one or two ultrasonic sensors, we devise the geometric method to determine the position of an obstacle with respect to the center of a mobile robot. Third, we examine and compare existing ultrasonic sensor models, including Gaussian distribution, parabolic distribution, uniform distribution, and impulse, and then build the sensor model of overlapped ultrasonic sensors, adequate for obstacle detection in terms of positional uncertainty and computational requirement. Finally, through experiments using our prototype ultrasonic sensor ring, the validity of overlapped beam pattern for reduced positional uncertainty and efficient obstacle detection is demonstrated.

In this study, a digital particle holographic system and its application to channel-flow measurements were investigated. A double-exposure hologram recording system that is capable of recording digital holograms in a short time interval was developed. A correlation coefficient method was used to determine the focal plane of particles. The Wiener filter was used to remove noises and improve image quality. Two-threshold and image segmentation methods were used for binary image transformation. The cross-correlation method was used for particle pairing. The developed system was employed to study channel flow fields, and the axial velocities of channel flow were measured. The measurement errors are acceptable, and this proves the feasibility of using the digital particle holographic system as a good tool for flow-field measurements.

Satellites industry has been developing with the commercial and military needs. Because power system of satellites is very important to survival operation and hard to test, increasing reliability is very critical. Especially LEO small satellites are very sensitive to power system, effective stabilization control is important. Because of various need of load condition, converter design are complicated. Therefore this paper introduced general modeling of LEO small satellite converter system and analyzed stabilization control design. The performance prediction of LEO small satellites power system is typically critical. Because of verity controller and rectification value, it is hard to computation and test implementation. So, this approach has merit that will reduce cost and make more reliable system. Furthermore, it can be constraint of converter specification and controller design. This paper will examine generation a modeling of LEO small satellites power converting system, and a possible guide line to design reliable controller which optimizing power converters of LEO small satellite.

Acoustic damping induced by gap width between baffled injectors is investigated numerically, which are installed to suppress pressure oscillations in a model rocket combustor. The previous work reported that the baffled injectors show larger acoustic damping with the gap width between injectors. It is simulated numerically and its mechanism is examined. Damping factors are calculated as a function of gap width and it is found that the optimum gap is 0.1 mm or so. For understanding of the improved damping induced by the gap, dissipation rate of turbulent kinetic energy and vorticity are calculated as a function of the gap. Both parameters have their maximum values at the specific gap and especially, the dissipation rate has the same profile as that of damping factor. It verifies that the improved damping made by the gap is attributed to the increased acoustic-energy dissipation.
With the recent development of the art distribution system, interest in art investment is increasing rather than seeing art as an object of aesthetic utility. Unlike stocks and bonds, the price of artworks has a heterogeneous characteristic that is determined by reflecting both objective and subjective factors, so the uncertainty in price prediction is high. In this study, we used LSTM Recurrent Neural Network deep learning model to predict the auction winning price by inputting the artist, physical and sales charateristics of the Korean artist. According to the result, the RMSE value, which explains the difference between the predicted and actual price by model, was 0.064. Painter Lee Dae Won had the highest predictive power, and Lee Joong Seop had the lowest. The results suggest the art market becomes more active as investment goods and demand for auction winning price increases.

PURPOSE: Falls are caused by a decline in physical and cognitive function. A quantitative evaluation tool that can comprehensively evaluate motor and cognitive functions for elderly people with an impaired physical function. This study assessed the clinical application potential by confirming the correlation between the physical function tests, cognitive and the stepping trail-making test (S-TMT). METHODS: Fourteen community-dwelling older patients (65-75 years) were recruited. The study conducted cognitive function tests with the trail-making test (TMT-A, B), and physical function tests (6-minute walking test (6MWT), short physical performance battery (SPPB), and timed up and go (TUG)). The results of were analyzed using SPSS version 21.0. Descriptive statistics were used for the general characteristics of the study subjects, and the correlations between S-TMT, other functional tests were examined through Pearson's correlation analysis. The statistical significance was set to .05. RESULTS: S-TMT had a significant positive correlation with the TUG (r = .588*) and trail-making test-B (TMT-B) (r = .689*, p < .05). Furthermore, S-TMT showed a negative correlation between SPPB (r = -.397) and 6MWT (r = -.422), but it was not statistically significant. CONCLUSION: S-TMT is a cognitive-gait dual-task performance evaluation tool that can be performed safely. A significant correlation was confirmed between the TUG test and the TMT-B. S-TMT is a dual-task screening tool that can evaluate both physical and cognitive functions simultaneously.

Maintenance of adequate soil water potential during the period of crop growth is necessary to support optimum plant growth and yields. A better understanding of soil water movement within and below the rooting zone can facilitate optimal irrigation scheduling aimed at minimizing the adverse effects of water stress on crop growth and development and the leaching of water below the root zone which can have adverse environmental effects. The objective of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of using a portable irrigation controller with an Watermark sensor for the cultivation of drip-irrigated vegetable crops in a greenhouse. The control capability of the irrigation controller for a soil water potential of -20 kPa was evaluated under summer conditions by cultivating 45-day-old tomato plants grown in three differently textured soils (sandy loam, loam, and loamy sands). Water contents through each soil profile were continuously monitored using three Sentek probes, each consisting of three capacitance sensors at 10, 20, and 30 cm depths. Even though a repeatable cycling of soil water potential occurred for the potential treatment, the lower limit of the Watermark (about 0 kPa) obtained in this study presented a limitation of using the Watermark sensor for optimal irrigation of tomato plants where -20 kPa was used as a point for triggering irrigations. This problem might be related to the slow response time and inadequate soil-sensor interface of the Watermark sensor as compared to a porous and ceramic cup-based tensiometer with a sensitive pressure transducer. In addition, the irrigation time of 50 to 60 min at each of the irrigation operation gave a rapid drop of the potential to zero, resulting in over irrigation of tomatoes. There were differences in water content among the three different soil types under the variable rate irrigation, showing a range of water contents of 16 to 24%, 17 to 28%, and 24 to 32% for loamy sand, sandy loam, and loam soils, respectively. The greatest rate increase in water content was observed in the top of 10 cm depth of sandy loam soil within almost 60 min from the start of irrigation.
