A Case of Vascular Leiomyoma Presenting as a Soft Mass of the Hard Palate (경구개 연성종물로 발현된 혈관평활근종 1예)

  • Vascular leiomyomas are benign tumors of smooth muscle origin arising from the muscularis layer of blood vessel walls. They can occur anywhere in the body where smooth muscle is found and usually occur in the lower extremity as a slow-growing, firm, occasionally painful mass. However they are rare in the head and neck and very rare in hard palate. Here we report a case of a vascular leiomyoma presenting as a soft mass of the hard palate and review the literatures.

  • 본 논문은 가상목업의 정비성 시뮬레이션을 위한 통합 아키텍쳐를 제안한다. 통합 아키텍쳐는 3계층 구조로 가상휴먼 에이전트 계층, 가상환경 물리모의 계층, 다중 에이전트 협업제어 계층으로 구성된다. 이를 통해, 제품 설계 단계와 병행하여 제품의 조립, 분해, 설치, 제거 등의 정비 절차를 모의하여 정비성 설계 오류를 도출 할 수 있다. 또한 정비 작업에 소요되는 자원, 인시 수를 분석하고 정비 절차를 가상현실에서 검증함으로써 기술 교범을 생산할 수 있다. 제안한 통합 아키텍쳐는 국방과학연구소의 가상목업 정비성 시뮬레이션 시스템(ViMMS)으로 구현하였다. 본 시뮬레이션 시스템은 항공무기체계의 정비성 분석, 평가, 기술교범의 저작 및 정비 훈련 시뮬레이터로 활용할 수 있다.

  • The SI thermochemical cycle process accomplishes water splitting through distinctive three chemical reactions. We focused on thermodynamic models applicable to the process. Recently, remarkable models based on the assumed ionic species have been developed to describe highly nonideal behavior on the liquid phase reactions. ElecNRTL models with ionic reactions were proposed in order to provide reliable process simulation results for phase equilibrium calculations in Section II and III. In this study, the current thermodynamic models of SI thermochemical cycle process were briefly described and the calculation results of the applied ElecNRTL models for phase equilibrium calculations were illustrated for binary systems.

  • The sensor network by using Utrasonic transceiver is concerned about the dampness of the signals caused by distance among the nodes, the distortion for speed of data trasmission and the transport protocol. The motes are sized $50mm\times60mm$, the ultrasonic analog part sized $30mm\times40mm$ and record 2% error rate for data transport.

  • 생체인식 기술은 급속도로 발전하고 있지만 각각의 생체 정보를 이용한 단일 생체인식 기술은 생체 방식에 따라 여러 가지 문제점이 노출되고 있다. 따라서 두 가지 이상의 생체 정보를 결합하여 단일 생체인식 기술의 문제점을 극복하고 보다 좋은 인식률을 확보하기 위해 다중 생체 인식 시스템이라는 복합 시스템이 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 웹 기반의 다중 생체 인식 시스템을 개발하여 이를 인터넷 전자입찰시스템에 적용하였다. 얼굴 및 음성 인식 정보를 이용하여 인증 시스템에 로그인 하도록 구현하여 일반적인 웹사이트에서도 다중 생체 인식 시스템을 적용할 수 있음을 보였다.

  • This paper describes the development and applications of maintainability simulation system based on virtual reality technology. The immersive type maintainability simulator using virtual reality is developed and assembly simulation using DELMIA software is conducted for an air-to-ground munition as an example. The simulation processes and result validate the feasibility and effectiveness of maintainability simulation system for logistic element development.

  • Several reports have investigated airway obstruction caused by redundancy of arytenoid mucosa. Flexible laryngoscope examination revealed prolapse of the mucosa overlying the arytenoid. Usually, pharyngeal or laryngeal microscopic procedures can successfully treat the redundancy of arytenoid mucosa. We experienced two cases of airway obstruction caused by redundancy of artenoid mucosa and report it with review of literatures.

  • The magnetic flux profiles in SmBCO and YBCO coated conductors(CC) in the presence of the external field were comparatively investigated by magneto-optic image and scanning hall probe measurements. The current distributions calculated by using the inversion method from measured field profiles show that the decrease of current densities near the edges of SmBCO CC is more significant than those of YBCO CC. Through the comparison of the numerical analysis based on Kim's critical state model and the Brandt and Indenbom's solution, we found that this feature is related to their different field dependant properties of the critical current densities.

  • In this paper, we used E-J constitutive law and H-formulation to calculate magnetic field profile, current density, and magnetization of high temperature superconductor (HTS) placed in time varying applied magnetic field. Finite element method (FEM)-based software, Comsol Multiphysics 3.5a, was employed to simulate 2-dimensional model of a superconducting thin strip. The numerical results based on Kim's critical state model were compared with the case of strip in a perpendicular field in the Brandt's paper as well as experimental data observed by Scanning Hall Probe and SQUID.

  • Local anesthesia is routine procedure in dental practices and has several complication. One of them, needle fracture is not uncommon in past, but rare in recent. The number of cases reported in the literature of broken needle in local anesthetic procedure has shown a marked decrease since the use of disposable spiral-constructed dental needle began. This complication results from lack of patient cooperation, inaccurate anesthetic technique, sudden movement of patient, error in the manufacturing procedure, use of short needle, and bending before use. Most common site is pterygomandibular space during inf. alveolar nerve block. In two patients, we removed broken needles under general anesthesia without complication. So we report cases with review of literatures.
