장수풍뎅이(Allomyrina dichotoma) 렉틴의 면역기능 증강효과 (Immunomodulating Effect of the Lectin from Allomyrina dichotoma)

  • A lectin was purified from Allomyrina dichotoma (ADL) by physiological saline extraction, ammonium sulfate fractionation, anion exchange column chromatography on DEAE Sephadex A-50 and gel filtration column chromatography on Sephadex G-200. Several biochemical properties of ADL were characterized as follows: ADL from gel filtration column chromatography showed single band on SDS-PAGE. ADL agglutinated the erythrocytes of rabbit and human A, B, O, AB. Agglutinability was relatively stable at basic pH, and was stable at temperature below $40^{\circ}C$. Agglutinability was not affected by metal ions and EDTA. This lectin was proved to be a glycoprotein which contains 0.47% of sugars. The molecular weight of ADL was estimated to be 97,000 dalton by SDS-PAGE. By amino acid analysis, ADL exhibited high amounts of aspartic acid. The lectin's immunomodulating effect was measured as cytokine production. The productions of 5 cytokines $(IL-1{\alpha},\;IL-2,\;IL-6,\;IFN{\gamma}\;and\;TNF{\alpha})$ from peripheral blood mononuclear cells were measured by ELISA. The lectin induced the highest secretion of IL-2 at 8 hr, $TNF{\alpha}$ at 4 hr, and $IFN{\gamma}$ at 24hr, respectively. These results suggest that ADL can elicit the production of detectable cytokines from PBMC.

초음파 자극이 현미발아 촉진에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Ultrasound Stimuli on Acceleration of Brown Rice Germination)

  • The effects of ultrasound stimuli on the germination and sprout growth of brown rice were investigated. Ultrasound was applied to brown rice at the frequencies of 28, 40, and 60 kHz before germination test and it was germinated in three methods (Type I, II and III). Type I was to soak brown rice into water for 60 hours. Type II was to expose brown rice to air for 48 hours after soaking them into water for 12 hours. Type III was a repetitive method of water-soaking and air exposure for 12 hours respectively. The most effective method for the germination was Type III without ultrasound. However, Type I was a best method after ultrasound treatment. As power of ultrasound increased, sprouts grew faster after brown rice were treated in 40%, 70%, and 100% power (0.137, 0.241, and 0.344 $W/cm^2$) at 40 kHz. The good treatments for fast sprout growth of brown rice at each frequency were the 28 kHz-10min group, the 40 kHz-5min group, and the 60 kHz-20min group of Type I. The best effective treatment was the 40 kHz-5min group at 0.344 $W/cm^2$ and at that condition the time required for sprout growth of 2.5 m was 51.9 hours. The ultrasound stimuli was very effective in the beginning of the rice germination, and the germination ratio was more than 95% in all ultrasound treatments.

이종망 환경에서 오버헤드 감소와 수율 향상을 위한 자율적인 펨토셀 전송 전력 조절 기법 (An Autonomous Power Control Scheme of Femto Cells for Throughput Improvement and Overhead Reduction in Heterogeneous Networks)

  • 저전력, 저가의 초소형 기지국인 펨토셀은 heterogeneous network 의 중요 구성 요소 중 하나이다. 그러나 펨토셀 설치에 따른 셀 구조의 변화는 셀 간 간섭과 signaling overhead 증가와 같은 기술적인 문제를 야기할 수 있다. 이와 같은 기술적인 문제의 해결 방법 중 하나는 펨토셀이 SON(Self-Organized Network)과 같은 기법을 이용하여 자율적으로 전송전력을 조절하는 것이다. 펨토셀은 전송전력 조절을 통해 시스템 throughput을 향상시키거나 overhead를 감소시킬 수 있다. 일반적으로 시스템 throughput을 최대화하기 위한 펨토셀 전송 전력과 시스템 overhead 감소를 위한 펨토셀 전송 전력은 일치하지 않는다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 펨토셀이 시스템 overhead를 감소시키는 동시에 시스템 throughput을 향상시키도록 전송 전력을 조절하는 방법을 제안한다. 모의실험을 통해 제안 기법이 throughput만을 최대화하는 기법에 비하여 시스템 overhead를 41% 감소시키는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 커버리지만을 최적화 하는 기법에 비하여 throughput이 63% 향상되는 것을 확인하였다.

질산염 전구체 원료로 Ex-situ 공정에 의한 GdBCO 박막 제조 (Preparation of GdBCO Thin Film by Ex-situ Process using Nitrate Precursors)

  • Many research groups have been manufacturing coated conductor by various processes such as PLD, MOD, and MOCVD, but the methods with production cost suitable for wide and massive application of coated conductor did not develop yet. Spray pyrolysis method adopting ultrasonic atomization was tried as one of the possible option. GdBCO precursor films have been deposited on IBAD substrate by spray pyrolysis method at low temperature and converted to GdBCO by post heat treatment. Ultrasonic atomization was used to generate fine droplets from precursor solution of Gd, Ba, and Cu nitrate dissolved in water. Primary GdBCO films were deposited at $500^{\circ}C$ and oxygen partial pressure of 1 torr. After that, the films were converted at various temperatures and low oxygen partial pressures. C-Axis oriented films were obtained IBAD substrates at conversion temperature of around $870^{\circ}C$ and oxygen partial pressures of 500 mtorr ~ 1 torr in a vacuum. Thick c-axis epitaxial film with the thickness of 0.4 ~ 0.5 ${\mu}m$ was obtained on IBAD substrate. C-axis epitaxial GdBCO films were successfully prepared by ex-situ methods using nitrate precursors on IBAD metal substrate. Converted GdBCO films have very dense microstructures with good grain connectivity. EDS composition analysis of the film showed a number of Cu-rich phase in surface. The precursor solution having high copper concent with the composition of Gd : Ba : Cu = 1 : 2 : 4 showed the better grain connectivity and electrical conductivity.

  • 음향방출(Acoustic Emission, AE) 시스템은 최근 조기 결함 검출 시스템 개발을 위해 적용되고 있으며, 그에 따르는 신호처리 기법에 대한 문제를 해결하기 위해 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다. 신호처리 기법 중 포락처리(Envelope analysis)가 베어링 결함 분석에 사용되고, Wavelet Transform은 기어 등의 결함 분석에 용이한 것으로 알려져 있다. 하지만 여전히 AE 신호를 위한 신호처리 기법은 불확실하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 AE 시스템을 적용한 조기 결함 검출 시스템 개발을 위한 사전 연구로, AE 신호를 분석하기 위한 신호처리 기법으로 Hilbert Transform(HT)과 Hilbert-Huang Transform(HHT)에 대해 비교 분석한다. AE 신호는 피로시험을 통해 취득되었으며, 취득된 AE 신호를 두 신호처리 기법을 적용하여 주파수 및 시간 신호에 대해 분석하였다. HT에 비해 HHT가 시간-주파수 영역에 대해 결과를 나타내기 때문에 좀 더 명확한 특징을 보이는 데에 반해 신호처리 시간 및 필터링에 대한 단점을 보이고 있음을 확인하였다.

CT형강 전단연결재가 적용된 합성형 PHC벽체파일-하부슬래브 연결부 성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Structural Capacity of Joint Between Composite PHC Wall Pile and Bottom Slab with CT Shear Connector)

  • 본 연구에서는 합성형 PHC 벽체파일의 CT형강 전단연결재가 벽체파일과 하부 슬래브와의 연결부에서 인장력에 저항하는 앵커의 성능을 갖는지 직접 인발실험을 통해 분석하였다. 다양한 실물 크기 실험체들의 파괴형상과 하중-변위 곡선으로부터 CT형강의 인발파괴를 방지하기 위해서는 CT형강 복부 홀에 관통철근을 배치하여 강도를 증가시켜야 함을 알 수 있다. 관통철근이 설치된 다양한 단면의 실험체들을 대상으로 지지점 거리를 변화시켜 파괴형상과 극한강도를 분석한 결과, CT형강의 인발파괴 전에 벽체파일 자체의 콘크리트 인장파괴가 모든 실험체에서 발생하므로 적용된 CT형강 전단연결재는 벽체파일과 하부 슬래브 연결부의 발생 인장력에 대해 충분히 저항할 수 있다.

산화그래핀 첨가에 따른 에폭시 나노 복합재료의 열적 및 기계적 특성 연구 (Study on Thermal and Mechanical Properties of Epoxy Resin Nanocomposites with the Graphene Oxide)

  • In this study, graphene oxide(GO) was synthesized by using Hummer's method. Then, GO was used as a additive for epoxy resin nanocomposites that were prepared by mixing Tetraglycidyl diamino diphenyl methane(TGDDM) and hardner(MDEA+M-MIPA). Thermal and mechanical properties of epoxy resin nanocomposites were confirmed by analytical methods such as TG-DTA, DMA, fracture toughness, tensile strength, and flexural strength. The fracture surfaces of epoxy resin nanocomposites with different content of the GO were observed by a Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM). The mechanism for mechanical properties of epoxy resin nanocomposites was analyzed by modeling of nanocomposites with different GO weight. Due to the GO, both the heat resistance and the glass transition temperature of the epoxy resin nanocomposites were improved. Interestingly, when 0.1wt.% of GO was added to the epoxy resin/hardner mixture, the properties of mechanical increased compared with the neat epoxy resin. This results were caused by an aggregation between the GO.

비파괴 기법을 이용한 유동성 채움재의 초기경화특성 평가 (Evaluation of Early-age Properties of Controlled Low Strength Material Using Non-destructive Testing)

  • Controlled Low Strength Material (CLSM) has high fluidity and self-compaction characteristics. CLSM is mainly used for backfilling the excavated road. Early-age properties of CLSM should be characterized for fast restoration of the road. In this study, shear wave monitoring and Vicat needle test are performed to investigate the early-age properties of CLSM depending on the setting time. CLSM consists of CSA cement, fly ash, silt and sand, accelerator, and water. Five fly ashes with different chemical properties are used for CLSM samples. The penetration of CLSM along setting time is obtained through the Vicat needle test. A pair of bender elements are placed in a mold for shear wave measurement, and the change in shear waves with the setting time is monitored. The experimental results show that, regardless of the type of fly ash, the penetration depth decreases and the shear wave velocity increases with the setting time. Depending on the type of fly ash, initial and final times and shear wave velocity change. After testing, the correlation between penetration and shear wave velocity is obtained with high coefficient of determination. The shear wave measurement technique using the bender element can be used to identify early-age properties.

가속도계를 이용한 광전용적맥파의 동잡음 제거 (A Study on Accelerometer Based Motion Artifact Reduction in Photoplethysmography Signal)

  • With the convergence of ubiquitous networking and medical technologies, ubiquitous healthcare(U-Healthcare) service has come in our life, which enables a patient to receive medical services at anytime and anywhere. In the u-Healthcare environment, intelligent real-time biosignal aquisition/analysis techniques are inevitable. In this study, we propose a motion artifact cancelation method in portable photoplethysmography(PPG) signal aquisition using an accelerometer and an adaptive filter. A preliminary experiment represented that the component of the pedestrian motion artifact can be found under 5Hz in the spectral analysis. Therefore, we collected PPG signals under both simulated conditions with a motor that generates circular motion with uniform velocity (from 1 to 5Hz) and a real walking condition. We then reduced the motion artifact using a recursive least square adaptive filter which takes the accelerometer output as a noise reference. The results showed that the adaptive filter can remove the motion artifact effectively and recover peak points in PPG signals, which represents our method can be useful to detect heart rate in real walking condition.

  • Since the most exclusive machines of the modern industries which require the nano precision rates are evolved from the machine tools, the design of the stable machine tool structure is very critical. Exclusive machines for the modern industries such as semiconductor, solar cell and LED have surface machining processes which are similar to the face cutting and grinding of conventional machine tools. This study was initiated to stabilize a milling machine structure and further to help design those exclusive machines which have similar machining mechanisms. The vibrations inherent to the machine tool structures hurt the precision machining as well as damage the longevity of the structures. There have been numerous researches in order to suppress the vibrations of machine tool structures using the extra modules such as actuators and dampers. In this paper, the dynamic properties are analyzed to obtain the natural frequencies and mode shapes of a machine tool structure which reflect the main reasons of the biggest vibrations under the given operating conditions. And the feasibility of improving the stability of the structure without using any additional apparatus has been investigated with minor design changes. The result of the study shows that simple changes based on proper system identification can considerably improve the stability of the machine tool structure.
