SA508 탄소강 및 오스테나이트 스테인리스강의 표면잔류응력에 미치는 기계가공효과 (Effects on Machining on Surface Residual Stress of SA 508 and Austenitic Stainless Steel)

  • 원자력발전소의 이종용접부에서 일차응력부식균열이 발생하고 있으며 용접부의 잔류응력이 균열발생 및 성장에 기여할 수 있다. 용접부의 잔류응력은 기본적으로 용접에 의해 형성되지만 기계가공에 의해 표면잔류 응력상태가 변화할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 기계가공이 원전재료인 SA508과 오스테나이트 스테인리스강에 표면잔류응력에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 이를 위해 SA508, TP304, F316L 재료를 연마, 연삭, 방전가공으로 가공한 후 표면에 형성되는 잔류응력을 측정하였다. 측정방법은 구멍뚫기법과 엑스선회절법을 사용하였다. 기계가공방법에 따라 각 재료에 미치는 잔류응력의 크기 및 방향, 잔류응력이 형성되는 깊이 등의 특성을 확인하였다.

강용접부의 표면균열 성장거동에 관한 연구 1

  • Generally, as the welded region of weld structures has the incomplete bead and welded deposit which are able to behave like the surface cracks occasinally, there is a high possibility that the fatigue fracture of the weld structures is due to the surface cracks on the wlded region. This study was done to investigate the effects of post weld heat treatment (PWHT) on the fatigue behaviors of the surface crack of the heat affected zone (HAZ) for the multi-pass welds under the repetitive pure bending moment. The obtained results are summarized as follows : 1. The crack grows to the depth direction initially as the number of cylces increase, the amount of crack length is increased for the surface dir3ction and cive versa for the depth direction. 2. The fatigue life is increased in a order of as weld, PWHT specimens and parent. 3. As the number of cycles increase, the crack length is increased to th surface direction. The increase of the depth length is blunted at the center of specimen thickness. 4. The fatigue crack growth of PWHT specimens to the surface direction is dependent upon the holding time and applied stress during PWHT. In order words, the crack growth rate decreases with the holding time and increases with the applied stress during PWHT. 5. As the crack grows, the aspect formed in the course of crack propagation approaches to semicircle for parent and ellipse with the largest semidiameter for PWHT ($1/4hr, 15kgf/mm^2$) 6. At depth direction, it is difficult to apply to the paris' equation because of the scattered data between the crack growth rate and the stress intensity factor range.

  • Considering ferrite grain size in the base metal, the prediction model for $A_{c3}$ temperature and prior austenite grain size at just above $A_{c3}$ temperature was proposed. In order to predict $A_{c3}$ temperature, the Avrami equation was modified with the variation of ferrite grain size, and its kinetic parameters were measured from non-isothermal data during continuous heating. From calculation using a proposed model, $A_{c3}$ temperatures increased with increasing ferrite grain size and heating rate. Meanwhile, by converting the phase transformation kinetic model that predicts the ferrite grain size from austenite grain size during cooling, a prediction model for prior austenite grain size at just above the $A_{c3}$ temperature during heating was developed.

해양구조물용 TMCP강의 피로균열진전거동에 미치는 용접이방성 및 과대하중의 영향 (The effect of the excessive loading and welding anisotropy on the fatigue crack propagation behavior of TMCP steel for offshore structure)

  • The effect of the welding for the offshore structure in the TMCP steel on the fatigue crack propagation rate and crack opening-and-closure behavior was examined. The welding anisotropy of the TMCP steel and crack propagation characteristics of the excessive loading were reviewed. (1) It seemed that a heat which was generated by the welding made a compressive residual stress over the base metal, so fatigue crack propagation rate was placed lower than in case of the base metal. (20 In the base metal, an effect of the anisotropy which has an effect of fatigue crack propagation rate of the excessive load and the constant amplitude laos was not found but in the welding material case, fatigue crack propagation rate of the excessive load in the specimen of the width direction was located in the retard side as compared with a specimen rolling direction. (3) A crack opening ratio of the used TMCP stel in this study was not changed after excessive loading but a retard phenomenon of crack propagation was observed. Consequently, it was thought that all of the retard phenomenon of crack propagation did not only a cause of the crack opening-and-closure phenomenon.

자동차 차체용 SPEC590강 레이저 용접판재의 피로특성 (Fatigue Characteristics of SPFC590 Laser Welded Sheet Metal for Automobile Body Panel)

  • Experimental research has been carried out to investigate the characteristics of the fatigue crack initiation and propagation behavior of Tailor Welded Blank(TB) sheet used for vehicle body. We used three types of specimens which were machined of the same base metal: one is 1.4mm thick, another is 1.6mm thick, and the third(TB specimen) is laser-welded of two specimens(1.4mm and 1.6mm thick ones). The results of tensile and hardness test indicate that the yield strength of the TB specimen is the highest, and the hardness around welding bead is higher than that of base metal. Fatigue strength and fatigue limit of the TB specimen are much superior to those of the base metal up to $10^6$ cycles. The fatigue crack propagation of the heat-affected zone of the TB specimen is slower than that of the base metal. Welding bead has the fastest crack Propagation in the low stress intensity factor range$(\DeltaK)$ region, but the slowest in the high $\DeltaK$ region. The fatigue propagation characteristic of the TB specimen is relatively stable in comparison with that of the base metal in the high ${\Delta}K$ region around over $28MPa\sqrt{m}$.

센터필라 적용을 위한 이종 접합강의 충격 특성 해석에 관한 연구 (Analysis of Impact Characteristics of Bonded Dissimilar Materials for Center Pillar)

  • 본 연구에서는 레이저 TWB로 용접된 이종재료의 동적 특성에 대한 해석이 수행되었다. 해석프로그램은 Hyper works 10.0으로 Solver는 LS-DYNA v.971, 모델링 요소는 2D-Shell, 요소 수는 35,641개, 노드 수는 36,561개이다. 충격속도는 10 km/h이다. 상 하부의 용접선 높이에 따르는 영향을 연구하기 위하여, 하부의 길이를 300 mm와 400 mm로 하였다. 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다. 길이 300 mm인 하부 재료 SPFC980의 변형은 가장 작고, 충돌 흡수 에너지는 가장 크다. 하부 냉연강 기준으로 TWB의 위치가 짧을수록 성능이 우수하게 나타났다. 즉, 상대적으로 상부 고강도강인 SABC1470 재료가 차지하는 비율에 따라 성능이 좌우되었다. 하부 재료 SPFH590은 큰 변형이 나타났고, 충돌성능은 SPFC980보다 현저히 떨어졌다. 따라서 충돌 성능 해석 결과에서 하부 재료 SPFC980인 길이 300 mm가 가장 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

  • Characteristics of dissimilar metal welds between alloy steel ASTM A387 Gr. 91 and carbon steel ASTM A516 Gr.70 made with Flux cored arc welding(FCAW) have been evaluated in terms of microstructure, mechanical strength, chemical analysis by EDS as well as corrosion test. Three heat inputs of 15.0, 22.5, 30.0kJ/cm were employed to make joints of dissimilar metals with E91T1-B9C wire. Post-weld heat treatment was carried out at $750^{\circ}C$ for 2.5 h. Based on microstructural examination, tempered martensite and lower bainite were formed in first layer of weld metal. The amount of tempered martensite was decreased and the amount of lower bainite was increased with increasing heat input and layer. Heat affected zone of alloy steel showed the highest hardness due to the formation of tempered Martensite and lower Bainite. Tensile strengths of dissimilar welds decreased with increasing heat inputs. Dissimilar welds seemed to have a good hot cracking resistance due to the low HCS index below 4. The salt spray test of dissimilar metals showed that the corrosion rate increased with increasing heat inputs due to the increase of the amount of lower Bainite.

  • Characteristics of dissimilar metal welds between alloy steel ASTM A387 Gr. 91 and carbon steel ASTM A516 Gr.70 made with Flux cored arc welding(FCAW) have been evaluated in terms of microstructure, mechanical strength, chemical analysis by EDS as well as corrosion test. Three heat inputs of 15.0, 22.5, 30.0kJ/cm were employed to make joints of dissimilar metals with E71T-1C wire. Post-weld heat treatment was carried out at $750^{\circ}C$ for 2.5 h. Based on microstructural examination, Intragranular polygonal ferrite and grainboundary ferrite were formed only in first layer of weld metal. Another layers consisted of acicular ferrite and $Widmannst{\ddot{a}}tten$ ferrite. The amount of acicular ferrite was increased with decreasing heat input and layer. Heat affected zone of alloy steel showed the highest hardness due to the formation of tempered martensite and lower bainite. Lower and upper bainite were formed in heat affected zone of carbon steel. Tensile strengths of dissimilar metal welds decreased with increasing heat inputs. Dissimilar metal welds showed a good hot cracking resistance due to the low HCS index below 4. The salt spray test of dissimilar metals welds showed that the weight loss rate by corrosion below 170 hours was decreased with increasing heat inputs due to the increase of the amount of acicular ferrite.

Incoloy 825합금 및 탄소강의 이종강종간 용접특성 연구 (A Study of Dissimilar Weldability of Incoloy 825 with Mild Steel)

  • This study has evaluated the dissimialr weldability of Incoloy 825 Ni base alloy with a mild steel(SS41). Further a compatibility study of wrveral Ni base filler metals with the dissimilar joint between the two alloys was also included. The dissimilar weldability of Incoloy 825 with mild steel is strongly dependent upon the type of the filler metal used. Among the filler metals, ENiCrFe which has a chemical comosition similar to that of Incoloy 825 was found to be most compatible to the joint. In addition, a filler metal which showed a good cracing resistance in one dissimiar alloy combination was not necessarily graranteed to other combination. Microstructural examination with SEM, TEM and Auger revealed that the solidification cracking resestance of the dissimilar joint. between Incoloy 835 and SS41 was closely with the Ti+Nb content and with the content of a low melting eutectic phase of Laves relatibve to that of MC type phase.

일본의 브레이징 기술과 동향 (1) -알루미늄 브레이징- (Brazing Technilogy and Trend in Japan(I) -Aluminum Beazing-)

  • 브래이징은 모재보다 용점이 낮은 재료를 접합매체(납재)로 하여, 450.deg. C 이상의 온도에서 모재를 녹이지 않고 납재만 용융시켜, 모재의 틈새에 용융된 납재를 침투(모세관 유입) 시킴 으로써 접합하는 방법이다. 브레이징은 (1) 한 번에 여러 곳을 접합할 수 있어 대량생산이 용이 하고, (2) 이종금속의 접합이 용이하며, (3) 복잡한 면의 접합이 가능하고, (4) 박판 및 세선의 접합이 용이하며, (5) 기밀, 수밀에 강하고 접합 강도가 우수하다는 장점으로 인해 적용범위가 점차 확대되고 있다. 국내에서도 현재 수많은 업체에서 브레이징을 제품생산에 적용하고 있으나 브레이징 기술은 그리 높지 않은 상태이다. 그러나 최근 브레이징 분야에 대한 기술개발 욕구가 증대되고 있는 상황이어서, 브레이징에 대한 기술과 정보의 보급 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 이에 필자는 일본의 브레이징 자료를 중심으로 브레이징에 관한 기초 지식을 기술하고 덧붙여 연구 동향을 소개하고자 한다.
