  • 전 세계적으로 다양한 영역에서 빅데이터 활용 성공 사례가 증가하게 되면서 도서관 분야에서도 빅데이터를 활용한 신규 서비스 개발 필요성이 제기 되고 있다. 본 연구는 공공도서관의 정보서비스 제공 및 도서관 운영 실태, 이용자 특성 등을 분석하였고, 이를 바탕으로 새로운 도서관 패러다임을 이끄는 도서관 빅데이터 서비스 모형을 개발하고자 한다. 먼저, 설문 대상을 사서 집단과 이용자 집단으로 나누어 공공도서관 이용현황을 파악하였고, 대표적인 공공도서관 서비스인 장서개발 및 열람봉사, 이용자 맞춤형 추천서비스에 대한 수요도를 분석하였다. 추가적으로 응답에 대한 집단 간 차이에 대해 살펴보았다. 분석결과를 토대로 관련 서비스 개발을 위한 방향성을 도출하였고, 향후 활용 가능한 도서관 빅데이터 서비스 정립을 위한 기초 방안을 제시하였다.

  • This study is to seek a development plan in the borrowed book and current condition of operation of J-do provincial library. Based on library use card issuer 30,072 people and the number of lending books 705,447(2012 to 2013) of J-do provincial library, it was to analyzed elemental and comparative research for library development plan and user satisfaction. Method of analysis used SPSS statistics 21. This confirmed provincial library user's library user behavior and usage pattern of data. Based on the results of analytics, it indicated a development plan of J-do provincial library.

  • Recently libraries are experiencing an increasing number of difficult patrons because of the increase in the unemployment rate and the problem of mental health in their communities. The problem behaviours of difficult patrons have negative influence to other users and staff in the library. This seems closely associated with the decline in the quality of library services. Therefore, in this study, we developed a how-to-do-it manual for library staff to meet the aforementioned challenges and to enhance the overall quality of library services for both general users and difficult patrons.

A Study on Empirical Needs of Users according to Different Types of Disabilities in Libraries (도서관 장애인서비스에 대한 이용자의 장애유형별 실증적 요구도 조사 연구)

  • This study was performed in order to derive components that users with disabilities demand first when using library services by analyzing the actual usages and demands of handicapped users according to different types of disabilities. The results of the study are as follows: First, the actual situation of library disabled users was analyzed according to types of disabilities. Second, the importance and satisfaction level of disability types were investigated for the main components of the library disability service. Third, major components of library services were analyzed using Borich's Needs Assessment Model for the disabled and ways of activating library services by types were suggested. Fourth, we analyzed the differences according to different purposes of use by the disabled within Borich's Model for the main items of library services. We also proposed a plan to meet the purpose of library use by each type. Fifth, we analyzed the differences by type of users in Borich's Model for the major items of library services and thus suggested solutions to improve library services by types of disabilities.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a guidelines for emerging military library development. The history and current environment relating to the military library development were examined through literature review and policy analysis, field survey and interview methods. The results show that current library administration and services are far behind in terms of meeting user needs. An administration model and policy for military library development were suggested.

  • 본 연구의 배경은 공공도서관 사인시스템의 현황과 지속적인 활용에 있다. 수많은 정보 중 필요한 정보를 선별하고 수용하는 것이 중요한 현대사회에서 사인시스템은 원만한 상호작용을 위한 주요수단이다. 특히 복잡한 구조와 공간의 기능을 함께 지니고 있는 도서관에서 정보를 파악하기 위해서 명확한 지각효과를 갖춘 사인의 역할은 무엇보다 중요하다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 이용자가 공공도서관을 이용할 때 어떠한 요소가 정보를 수용하고 시각적으로 인지하는데 많은 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 한다. 그리고 선정된 도서관을 대상으로 기능 및 시각적 요소에 따라 사례분석을 한 후 이용자 만족도 조사를 실시하여 효과적이고 편리하게 도서관을 이용할 수 있도록 정보를 제시하는데 목적이 있다.

A Study on Social Tagging for Promoting Users' Participation in Digital Archives (디지털 아카이브의 이용자 참여의 활성화를 위한 소셜 태깅 활용 방안 연구)

  • This study aims to present the framework for promoting active engagement of users in digital archives through social tagging. It analyzed the technological development involved with digital archives, and the user participation and engagement through social media. The analysis explored the aspects of social tagging in terms of communication, sharing and collaboration in digital archives. Based on the analysis and reviews, it developed the model of social tagging for user participation and interaction in digital archives. The study proposed the application of open and game platforms for promoting active engagement of users in digital archives through social tagging.

  • This study analyzes the general operations of the current services and usages, and the perceptions on the service quality and satisfaction of the 480 users of the electronic information centers (EIC) in the 5 selected university libraries in Daegu and Kyoungpook area. Each libraries provide various levels of their services. Service quality is supposed to be comprised of 3 dimensions of facilities and equipments, contents, and staff. Each of three dimensions influences statistically significantly the user satisfaction of the EIC. Users are satisfied with the facilities and equipments highly. Users in each libraries show statistically different satisfactions in the dimensions of facilities and equipments, and contents, except staff dimensions. Users of each universities show different overall satisfactions on the EICs also.

  • At the time of operating and studying the subject special librarians of university libraries, an aim of this study is to seek the ways for the users to be aware and make the best use of them, and to receive the necessary assistance from them. To achieve this, I examined carefully the operation and management states, and surveyed and analyzed the actual users' awareness of these operations. Furthermore, I investigated the way to improve the required qualifications to be subject-special librarians and the users' awareness of them. Therefore, I finally examined the way how they reconsidered the actual users in the university libraries.

  • Opening university library doors to the community is essential to meeting their demands and it is also the duty of university libraries. Since opening doors of university libraries have become more and more significant, this study analysed the conditions of the university libraries that have the open-door policy to external users and carried out an analysis of problems caused by the open-door policy. The following alternatives were suggested : the introduction of the membership system about the external users, the role division of university library and local public libraries, reinforcement of external library user education, and access management about external users.
