This article examined an overview of historical background and human factors issues/topics in the area of human-computer interface and identified various aspects of hypermedia systems such as concepts, characteristics, representative softwares. The integration of other information systems with hypermedia system for the improvement of user interface was investigated.

This study investigated to understand how the East and the West seek information in terms of their cultural differences. It is designed to explain their cultural differences how they seek particular information when they need it in order to solve a problem in their hands. Survey and simple interview were conducted to compare their differences by sex and ages as well as cultural backgrounds. A total of 72 visitors from 9 countries were randomly selected and participated in this study. The study result shows there are different information seeking behaviors according to their cultural differences. Collected data were analyzed using PASW 18.0.

공공도서관은 지역주민의 다양한 정보요구와 관심사를 충족시키기 위해 필요한 각종 정보자료를 광범위하게 구성하여야 한다. 이렇듯 공공도서관은 방문하는 이용자들의 배경이 다양하고 도서관을 찾는 목적 또한 다양하기 때문에 모든 이용자의 요구를 충분히 만족시키기에 어려움을 겪고 있으며, 이를 극복하기 위한 노력으로 공공도서관 자료의 만족 수준을 높일 수 있는 장서개발정책 연구가 필요하다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 공공도서관의 장서개발정책을 제안하기 위해 서울특별시 소재 구립 공공도서관 10개관 이용자들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 이용자의 장서 이용 행태를 파악하고, 이를 바탕으로 서울시 구립 공공도서관을 위한 장서개발정책을 제안한다.

Archives should provide a web-based archival information service with good usability based on the understanding of users' needs. Thus, this study analyzed the usability of the National Archives of Korea (NAK) website's search service through expert and usability evaluations for various users and suggested improvement plans. A literature review, heuristic evaluation, one of the usability expert evaluation methods, and usability evaluation for users were performed. As a result of expert evaluation, the severity rating for the usability problem was highest regarding a match between the system and real world and the lowest in error prevention. In the usability evaluation, it was assumed that the user's background and whether the website's help was provided is associated with usability. Usability evaluation was conducted for 22 participants, including those majoring in records management, web/application developers, and people without such backgrounds. Furthermore, a presurvey, a five-second test, and search tasks were conducted in a row. The analysis based on usability components in ISO 9241-11: 2018, i.e., effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction, showed that web/application developers had the highest search effectiveness, and those majoring in records management showed high effectiveness only in the search for archival content services. Background factors did not affect efficiency, and the more familiar with the finding aids, the better the efficiency. Moreover, providing the website's help was found to be positively associated with effectiveness and satisfaction. This study suggests that the NAK website will offer a user-friendly interface and search function, expand help support, and display a consistent web interface.

To investigate the present states and analyze the library anxiety among academic library users, A University library users sampled systematically and surveyed. Data collected from 707 students are analyzed and compared with the previous studies. The average LAS score is 2.55 and show differences in sex, grade levels, and major areas of study. Library use instruction reduces anxiety subscale of barriers with staff. Library anxiety is also differed according to the frequency of library visit. Especially, the anxiety subscale of affective barriers is decreased according to the grade level and frequency of library visit. Based on the results, recommendations are suggested to overcome the library anxiety.

In public libraries, there are many difficulties in fulfilling requests by users, as typically have from diverse backgrounds and purposes for visiting the library. To overcome this problem, collection development for public libraries is required to enhance the satisfaction level of users regarding public library materials. Thus, in this study, a survey was conducted of users of 10 public libraries located in Seoul to analyze their collection-use behaviors and the study finally presents collection development for public libraries in Seoul based on data acquired.

미술분야의 경우 타주제분야와는 달리 정보이용에 있어서 시각적인 중요성(Visual Significance)이 특히 강조된다. 따라서 이용자들이 미술연구 및 작품활동ㆍ감상시 원작품이나, 원작품이 미술관에 소장되어 있지 않을 경우 원작품을 가장 본질에 가깝게 제공하는 대용매체인 시각자료에 대한 요구도가 다른 자료에 비해 훨씬 높을 것이라는 가정을 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 가정을 근거로 과연 이용자들이 미술도서관을 통하여 시각자료만을 집중적으로 이용하는지, 아니며 다른 자료를 더 이용하는지, 그렇다면 그 이유는 무엇인지를 밝혀서 미술도서관 이용자에게 보다 더 효율적인 정보봉사를 제공할 수 있는 이론적 근거를 마련하고자 한다.

본 연구는 전자정보원의 도입으로 도서관 장서의 구성이 다양화되고, 도서관 장서에 대한 이용자 중심의 가치평가에 대한 필요성이 증대되고 있는 도서관 환경을 배경으로 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 도서관의 장서의 가치와 경제성 평가 사례를 분석하여 이를 토대로 도서관 장서에 대한 이용자 중심의 가치 평가 모형의 기초자료를 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 국내외의 문헌 연구를 통해 도서관 장서의 평가가 어떠한 방향으로 변화하고 있는지 동향 파악과 국내외에서 이루어진 도서관 장서의 가치연구사례를 분석하였다.
