A Study on Automatic Selection of Optimal Cutting Condition on Machining in View of Economics (經濟性을 고려한 機械加工의 最適 切削條件의 自動 選定에 관한 硏究)

  • In recent years, machining turns to flexible manufacturing. Industry in machining requires to increase machining productivity and to reduce costs. To adapt this trend it is necessary to optimize machining condition. Even though many researches in this are introduced various way to set the optimal condition, still there are not enough. Therefore this research was done to select the optimal cutting condition for industry, and to develope the computer program to select the optimal cutting condition automatically. Also, this program was applied to many companies, and compare costs per minute. The results of this research will contribute to increase machining productivity of various companies with the automatic selection of optimal cutting condition.

Monitoring and Control of the Air Spindle Based Microdrilling Using Spindle Speed Variations (주축속도변동을 이용한 공기회전축식 미세구멍가공의 감시제어)

  • Microdrilling is one of the most difficult operations because of the poor chip discharge and the weakness of tool. This study is concerned about the development of a microdrilling monitoring system that is useful for minimizing the tool breakage and enhancing the machinability in the air spindle based microdrilling. The system is composed of a drilling state detection unit and an adaptive step-feed control unit that controls the micro-stepping motor driven spindle axis. Drilling states such as overload, tood breakage are recognized by the change of the air spindle speed which is measured via the reflective photo sensor. Based on the monitoring results, the adaptive step-feed control algorithm adjusts the step increment to keep the decrease of spindle speed within a specified range. The results of evaluation tests have shown that the developed system is very effective to prevent the breakage of microdrill and improves the productivity in comparison with the conventional microdrilling.

  • Drilling torque was measured indirectly using the spindle motor current and controlled in real time through feedrate manipulation in a machining center. The PID controller designed in the previous paper was applied to drilling torque control. A series of cutting experiments were performed for various cutting conditions. Experimental results showed that the drilling torque was well regulated at a given reference level by feedrate manipulation in all cutting conditions. The increase in the cutting torque and temperature according to the increase in machining depth was suppressed and the risk of the drill failure and the drill flank wear were reduced remarkably through cutting torque control. Moreover, the suggested cutting torque control system doesn\`t disturb the cutting process and is practical for industrial environment. Therefore, the proposed culling torque control system will contribute to productivity improvement in drilling process.

  • 입고ㆍ예냉ㆍ출고까지 전 공정을 자동화하고 진공압력을 작물의 품온에 따라 능동적으로 제어할 수 있고 진공챔버내에 콜드트랩을 설치하여 냉각효율을 향상시킨 진공예냉장치를 개발하여 고랭지 배추와 느타리버섯, 상추를 대상으로 예냉성능을 평가하고 예냉이 이들 작물에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 가. 새로 개발된 진공식 예냉장치는 공급컨베이어, 좌우 자동 슬라이딩 문, 이송컨베이어, 진공챔버, 진공펌프 콜드트랩, 냉동기로 구성되어 있다. 팔레트를 공급컨베이어에 올려놓고 작동을 시작하면, 입구문이 열리고 팔레트가 진공챔버내로 이송되면, 진공펌프에 의해 진공챔버내의 압력을 떨어뜨리고, 콜드트랩과 냉동기가 작동되어 예냉이 시작된다. 예냉이 완료되면 출구문이 열리고 이송컨베이어가 역회전하여 밖으로 배출되도록 되어있다. 나. 제작된 예냉장치의 예냉성능을 평가하기 위하여 느타리버섯, 고랭지 배추, 상추를 대상으로 냉각속도, 냉각균일도, 예냉후 저장중 품질변화시험을 실시하였다. 다. 시험결과 냉각소요시간은 느타리버섯의 경우 초기품온 15.2$^{\circ}C$에서 $1.5^{\circ}C$까지 냉각시키는데 24분, 고랭지배추는 13.5$^{\circ}C$에서 3.7$^{\circ}C$까지 냉각시키는데 18분, 상추는 13.4$^{\circ}C$에서 2.$0^{\circ}C$까지 냉각시키는데 24분 소요되었다. 평균냉각속도는 느타리버섯이 34.3$^{\circ}C$/h, 고랭지배추 32.6$^{\circ}C$/h, 상추 28.5$^{\circ}C$/h로 나타났다. 라. 또한 각층간의 냉각균일도를 알아보기 위하여 포장상자내에서 표면 품온과 내부품온변화를 조사한 결과 차이가 거의 없어 균일한 냉각이 가능하였다.생기 양단의 온도차는 높게 나타났고, 재생기 양단의 압력 차는 낮게 나타났다. 재생기 축열재로서 철망-철선을 사용할 경우 철선-철망 ø1.2-150이 전열 표면적은 작으나 재생기 양단의 온도차가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났으며 재생기 양단의 압력 차는 가장 낮게 나타나 공시 철망- 철선 혼합 축열재중 가장 우수함을 알 수 있다. 4. 철망사이에 철선을 삽입한 축열재의 경우, 철망사이에 삽입한 철선의 직경이 큰 것이 철선의 직경이 작은 것보다 재생기의 양단의 온도차가 높게 나타났고 재생기 양단의 압력차는 작게 나타났다. 그러므로 철망사이에 철선을 삽입한 것 중 성능이 우수한 것은 150-ø2. 0-150으로 나타났다. 5. 실험한 재생기 축열재들 중에서 성능이 우수한 것들을 비교한 결과, 복합 철선 ø1.2-1 50이 가장 성능이 좋은 것으로 나타났다.적외선.열풍 복합건조방법이 높게 나타나 이것은 곡물 표면에 원적외선 방사에의한 복사열이 전달되어 열장해를 받았기 때문으로 판단되며, 금후 더 연구하여 적정 열풍온도 및 방사체 크기를 구명해야 할 것이다.으로 보여진다 따라서 옻나무 유래 F는 포유동물의 생식기능에 중요하게 작용하는 것으로 사료된다.된다.정량 분석한 결과이다. 시편의 조성은 33.6 at% U, 66.4 at% O의 결과를 얻었다. 산화물 핵연료의 표면 관찰 및 정량 분석 시험시 시편 표면을 전도성 물질로 증착시키지 않고, Silver Paint 에 시편을 접착하는 방법으로도 만족한 시험 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.째, 회복기 중에 일어나는 입자들의 유입은 자기폭풍의 지속시간을 연장시키는 경향을 보이며 큰 자기폭풍일수록 현저했다. 주상에서 관측된 이러한 특성은 서브스톰 확장기 활동이 자기폭풍의 발달과 밀접한 관계가 있음을 시사한다.se that were all low in two aspects, named "the Nonsignificant group".   • Optics fabrication process for precision space optical parts includes bound abrasive grinding, loose abrasive lapping and polishing. The traditional bound abrasive grinding with bronze bond cupped diamond wheel leaves the machine marks of about $20{mu}m$ rms in height and the subsurface damage of about 1 ${mu}m$ rms in height to be removed by subsequent loose abrasive lapping. We explored an efficient quantitative control of precision CNC grinding. The machining parameters such as grain size, work-piece rotation speed and feed rate were altered while grinding the work-piece surfaces of 20-100 mm in diameter. The input grinding variables and the resulting surface quality data were used to build grinding prediction models using empirical and multi-variable regression analysis. The effectiveness of such grinding prediction models was then examined by running a series of precision CNC grinding operation with a set of controlled input variables and predicted output surface quality indicators. The experiment achieved the predictability down to ${pm}20$ nm in height and the surface roughness down to 36 nm in height. This study contributed to improvement of the process efficiency reaching directly the polishing and figuring process without the need for the loose abrasive lapping stage.

  • A design study of gas turbine engine simulation duct was conducted to investigate the operating characteristics and control gain tunning of the Altitude Engine Test Facility(AETF). The simulation duct design involved testing variable spike nozzle and ISO standard choking nozzle to verify the measurements such as mass flow rate and thrust. The simulation duct air flow area was designed to satisfy Ma 0.4 at the aerodynamic interface plane(AIP) at engine design condition. The test conditions for verifying the AETF controls and measurement devices were deduced from 1D analysis and CFD calculation results. The spike-cone driving part was designed to withstand the applied aero-load, and satisfy the axial traversing speed of 10 mm/s at whole operation envelops.

Prediction of Leachate Migration from Waste Disposal Site to Underground LPG Storage Facility and Review of Contamination Control Method by Numerical Simulations (수치모의를 통한 지하 LPG 저장시설에 인접한 폐기물매립지에서의 침출수이동 예측 및 제어공법 검토)

  • In case waste disposal site is to be constructed close to the underground facilities such as LPG storage cavern which is completely maintained by groundwater pressure, it is generally requested that the possibility on leachate contamination of cavern area be reviewed and the countermeasure, if it is estimated cavern area is severely affected by leachate, be taken into consideration. Prediction was performed and leachate control plan was made using by analytical and the numerical analysis on the leachate migration which is likely to happen at the area between the proposed waste disposal site and the underground LPG storage cavern located at the U petrochemical complex. Analytical solutions were obtained by the conservative mass advection-diffusion equation and the effect of advection and dispersion factor on the leachate migration was reviewed through peclet number calculation and the functional relationship between the factors and leachate transport velocity was established, which leads to enable us to predict the leachate transport velocity without difficulties when different parameters (factors) are used for analytical solution. Numerical solutions were obtained by FEM using AQUA2D which is for the simulation of groundwater flow and contaminant transport. 3-D discrete fracture models were simulated and fracture flow analysis was performed and feasibility study on the water-curtain system was conducted through the fracture connectivity analysis in rock mass. As results of those analyses, it was interpreted that the leachate would trespass on the LPG storage cavern area in 30 years from the proposed wate disposal site and the vertical water-curtain system was effective mathod for the prevention of leachate's migration further into the cavern area.

  • This In the railway signaling system, applications of axle counter in addition to track circuit goes on increasing for detecting train position. Consequently, this paper compares sensor methods of axle counter with between geo-magnetism method and proximity sensor method. And it presents differences and results, to improve reliabilities of train detection and axle counting. Also, this article presents an applied result which is based on field experience, with regard to installation, considering attachment condition of sensor part for accurate axle counting. This study acquires expandability that is able to perform not only axle counting function but also various other functions (direction detection of train, speed detection of train, and so on). It was a result of a change of design in order to judge phase difference of sensors, to improve reliability of axle counting. Furthermore, it does not subordinate to characteristics (type, weight of train). And it is confirmed that the omission of axle counting was not occurred in 350km/h. This was the result of Lab test after the construction of transfer equipment of trial axle and Test Bed for axle counting. Both of them are self-productions. Through this, it prepares foundation which is able to apply not only to train detection but also to speed of passing trains, formation number of trains, detector locking condition - when the train passes the section of switch point, and level crossing devices. Furthermore, it would be judged to contribute safety train operation if proximity sensor method applies to the whole railway signaling system from now on.

Development of Real-Time Thickness Measuring System for Insulated Pipeline Using Gamma-ray (감마선을 이용한 단열배관의 실시간 두께측정시스템 개발)

  • By this study, on-line real-time radiometric system was developed using a 64 channels linear array of solid state detectors to measure wall thickness of insulated piping system. This system uses an Ir-192 as a gamma ray source and detector is composed of BGO scintillator and photodiode. Ir-192 gamma ray source and linear detector array mounted on a computer controlled robotic crawler. The Ir-192 gamma ray source is located on one side of the piping components and the detector array on the other side. The individual detectors of the detector array measure the intensity of the gamma rays after passing through the walls and the insulation of the piping component under measurement. The output of the detector array is amplified by amplifier and transmitted to the computer through cable. This system collects and analyses the data from the detector array in real-time as the crawler travels over the piping system. The maximum measurable length of pipe is 120cm/min. in the case of 1mm scanning interval.
