OECD 국가의 이산화탄소 배출량 분해분석

  • This paper presents an alternative decomposition technique to identify the relative importance of factors associated with changes in $CO_2$ emissions by using directional distance function to model the joint production of desirable and undesirable outputs. The key feature of the proposed approach is the introduction of fossil and non-fossil fuel energy input efficiencies, productivity change and emission intensity change. For the 27 OECD countries as a whole, the empirical results indicate that economic growth is the most important contributor to $CO_2$ emissions increase, while efficiency change is the most important component to $CO_2$ emissions reduction between 1980 and 2007. For more extensive insights, this paper divided 3 groups according to the emission growth rate and find out that high emission countries show relatively low production efficiencies and technical changes contributing $CO_2$ emissions increase. The results also provide that more strict environmental regulations are needed to improve the pollution intensity in these countries.

  • 이산화탄소는 인체에 무해하지만 인간의 신진대사와 깊은 관련이 있기 때문에 인간의 정신적 육체적 행동을 제어하는 분야에 많이 응용되고 있다. 따라서 지능형 빌딩이나 고급 공동주택 등의 실내공기를 제어하는 시스템에 적용되어 효율적으로 환기시스템을 운용하는데 사용되어져 왔다. 앞으로 이는 에너지절감과 연동되어 자동차나 가전제품 등 앞으로 점점 밀폐되어가는 구조에 사용이 늘어날 것으로 전망된다. 그러나 종래는 이산화탄소가 특정파장(4.2 um)의 적외선을 흡수하는 성질을 이용하여 Lambert law에 의해 이산화탄소의 양을 측정하였다. 따라서 가격이나 크기가 비교적 경제적이지 못한 측면이 많았다. 이와 반대로 전기화학적인 방식은 가격이나 크기의 측면에서 장점이 있었으나, 초기동작시간이나 안정성, 수명 등에서 상용화되기에는 아직 소비자가 이해하기 힘든면이 많았다. 이에 고체전해질을 이용하여 수명이나 초기시간 및 안정성을 획기적으로 개선하여 상용화가 가능하도록 만든 이산화탄소 센서를 소개하고자 한다. 이 센서는 전자회로와 결합되어 사용이 편리하도록 모듈화 하였고 이 모듈을 사용하여 "airwatch"라는 응용제품으로 판매되고 있다.

기술선택을 고려한 운송부문 이산화탄소 배출량 저감방안의 평가

  • 운송부문에서의 이산화탄소 배출량저감을 위한 정책대안을 통합적인 시뮬레이션 모형을 통하여 평가하였다. 분석에 이용된 시뮬레이션 모형은 일본의 국립환경연구소에 의해 개발된 AIM을 일부 수정한 AIM/KOREA이다. 분석의 결과는 다음의 3가지로 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, 기존차량에 비해 가격이 다소 비싸거나 동등한 에너지절약형 차량은 탄소세의 부과없이도 2005년에 가면 신규차량 전부를 대체할 것으로 전망된다. 둘째, 운송부문에서의 에너지 사용량은 앞으로 급격히 증가하고 이에 따라 이산화탄소의 배출량도 크게 증가할 것으로 예측된다. 그러나 이산화탄소의 배출량 감소를 목표로 하는 탄소세부과는 이산화탄소 배출저감에 기여하지 못하는 것으로 전망되었다. 반면에 승용차 10부제의 시행은 이산화탄소배출량의 급격한 증가를 크게 둔화시킬 수 있는 하나의 대안으로 제시되었다. 셋째, 에너지절약형 차량, 특히 전기자동차의 구입자에게 탄소세에 의해 확보된 재원을 이용하여 보조금을 지급하는 것이 운송부문에서 이산화탄소배출량을 줄일 수 있는 하나의 대안으로 평가되었다.

Color and Texture Changes of Dried Apple Slab After Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Pretreatment (초임계 이산화탄소 전처리에 따른 건조 사과절편의 색 및 물성변화)

  • This study was conducted to investigate quality changes of apple slab after pretreating with supercritical $CO_2$. L, a, b and color difference values were little changed at increasing temperature and pressure. Polyphenol oxidase was inhibited according to increment of supercritical $CO_2$ temperature and pressure. Springiness and hardness were increased at increasing pressure and temperature condition of pretreatment but hardness showed lower value than untreatment. The texture like sponge of dried apple slab was probably due to channels which were made during penetration and release of carbon dioxide.

  • Fire extinguishing efficiency of mixed gaseous agents were investigated by the cup-burner test and predicting by the model of flame extinguishing concentration. The binary mixed agents that tested were carbon dioxide/HFC-23, carbon dioxide/HCFC-22, carbon dioxide/HFC-227ea, carbon dioxide/HFC-125, carbon dioxide/FIC-13I1, Hexafluoropropylene/HFC-23 and ternary mixed agents were carbon dioxide/HFC-23/HFC-l34a, carbon dioxide/HFC-23/HFC-227ea, carbon dioxide/HFC-23/HFC-125. A model which contains the flame extinguishing concentration and composition of pure components predicted the flame extinguishing concentration of mixture well. This model was superior when each component of the mixture exhibit physical fire extinguishing performance.

  • High concentration of carbon dioxide at subway cabin is one of the serious environmental concerns because carbon dioxide causes drowsiness, headache, and nervelessness of passengers. Ministry of Environment set a guideline for indoor carbon dioxide levels in train or subway in 2007. In this study, a carbon dioxide removal system for subway cabin was developed and tested using a test subway cabin. Various types of modified zeolites were used as the adsorbent of carbon dioxide. The tested zeolites were applied to the subway cabin, and showed high potential to lower the indoor $CO_2$ level.

Comparative Evaluation for Seasonal CO2 Flows Tracked by GOSAT in Northeast Asia (GOSAT으로 추적된 동북아시아 이산화탄소 유동방향의 계절별 비교평가)

  • This study intends to evaluate the seasonal flow direction of carbon dioxide in Northeast Asia by using GOSAT, the first Greenhouse Observing SATellite, in an attempt to overcome costly, laborious and time consuming ground observation which has been frequently pointed out in existing studies. For this purpose, missing values were supplemented by applying the Kriging interpolation and the overall flow direction of carbon dioxide was determined through anisotoropy semi-variogram. As a result, it was found that the overall spatial distribution of carbon dioxide in Northeast Asia varies depending on the latitude, and that carbon dioxide mainly flows southeast or east in spring, autumn and winter, but northeast or north in summer. Similar to the flow of monsoons in Northeast Asia, these results show that carbon dioxide flows mainly from the west to the east, which proves that carbon dioxide discharged from China is influencing even the Korean Peninsula and Japan. However, as the flow of carbon dioxide varies depending on a variety of factors such as artificial sources, plant respiration, and the absorption and discharge of the ocean, follow-up studies are requested to evaluate such variables and the correlations.

  • Carbon dioxide is one of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and much research is underperforming in reducing carbon dioxide. Geological carbon dioxide storage is considered the primary technique for global warming prevention. So, technic development for storing carbon dioxide is required. Using surfactant is considered an effective material for geological carbon dioxide storage. However, research on using surfactants for carbon dioxide sequestration is not enough. In this study, a 2D micromodel experiment depends on the surfactant type (sodium dodecyl sulfate and sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate), concentration and carbon dioxide injection rate. As result, geological carbon dioxide sequestration efficiency is increased according to surfactant concentration and carbon dioxide injection rate increase. However, efficiency no more increases after critical concentration and rate.

Research on CO2 Emission Characteristics of Arterial Roads in Incheon Metropolitan City (인천광역시 간선도로의 이산화탄소 배출 특성 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of C02 emissions by road before establishing a policy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Method: As for the analysis method, the traffic volume and speed of the road were estimated using the traffic Assignment model targeting 27 arterial road axes in Incheon Metropolitan City. And, after estimating CO2 emissions by road axis by applying this, the characteristics of each group were analyzed through cluster analysis. Result: As a result of cluster analysis using total CO2 emissions, CO2 emissions by truck vehicles, and the ratio of truck vehicle emissions to total carbon dioxide emissions, four clusters were classified. When examining the characteristics of each road included in each group, it was analyzed that the characteristics of each group appeared according to the level of impact by CO2 emissions and truck vehicles. Conclusion: It is judged that it is necessary to establish a plan in consideration of CO2 emission characteristics for road CO2 management for greenhouse gas reduction.
