For the first time, this study identifies Nash model parameters by GIUH theory based on grid of GIS with heterogeneity of drainage path. Identified parameters have advantages to improve accuracy and usefulness with considering hillslpoe-flow, geomorphological dispersion and easily extracting geomorphological factors by GIS in the watershed. Calculated results by identified parameters compare with observation data for verification of this model. The comparison is well correspondence between observed data and calculated results. And the comparison results of changing trends about lag time and the variance as hillslope and channel characteristic velocities sensitively present changes about hillslope characteristic velocity. Thus this model justifies that estimation of hillslope characteristic velocity demands with the great caution.
It has been employed TRANSYT-7F and NETSIM to evaluate the validity and effectiveness of improvement on TSM(Transportation Systems Management). But T7F is hard to describe platoon compression and dispersion in actually, and NETSIM takes a long time for network coding, calibration and have difficulty in setting up saturation flow. While Shockwave Model have advantage which can describe platoon compression and dispersion in actually and shorten hours, convenience of application. But Shockwave Model apply unrealistic traffic flow relation ship(U-K curve) and simplify platoon because of difficulty in calculating shockwave's position and cross. For solving limitation of existing shockwave models, It develop new model with 2-regime linear model, New platoon model, Extended shockwave, etc. For verifying the validity of the proposed model, it was compared with delay of T7F and NETSIM by offset variation. In conclusion, it is thought that proposed model have outstanding performance to simulate traffic phenomenon.

In this paper, an efficient signal interference control technique to improve the high convergence speed of LMS algorithms is introduced in the adaptive transversal filter of DS/SS. The convergence characteristics of the proposed algorithm, whose coefficients are multiply adapted in a symbol time period by recycling the received data, is analyzed to prove theoretically the improvement of high convergence speed. According as the step-size parameter ${\mu}$ is increased, the rate of convergence of the algorithm is controlled. Also, an increase in the stop-size parameter ${\mu}$ has the effect of reducing the variation in the experimentally computed learning curve. Increasing the eigenvalue spread has the effect of controlling which is downed the rate of convergence of the adaptive equalizer. Increasing the steady-state value of the average squared error, proposed algorithm also demonstrate the superiority of signal interference control to the filter algorithm increasing convergence speed by (B+1) times due to the data-recycling LMS technique.

Surface wave (SW) surveys, which have been applied to numerous application fields ranging from micro-scale ultrasonic analysis to geological scale analysis, are widely used to monitor near-surface stability. The survey method is basically made through analysis on dispersion of SW propagating along the earth surface, in order to delineate shear velocity structure of subsurface. SW survey data are inverted with assuming one-dimensional (1D) layered-earth in order to recover shear wave velocities of each layer, after being analyzed to make the dispersion curve that shows phase velocity of SW with respect to frequency. This study reviews surface wave surveys with explaining the basic theory including the characteristics of dispersion and the procedure of general data processing. Even though surface wave surveys can be categorized into active and passive methods, this paper focuses only on active surface wave methods which includes continuous SW (CSW), spectral analysis of SW (SASW) and multichannel analysis of SW (MASW). Passive method will be reviewed in the subsequent paper.
In the evaluation of the subgrade stiffness structure by the SASW method, the calculation of the phase velocities is the important task controlling the reliability of the result. The interpretation of the phase spectrum should precede the phase-velocity calculation in the current practice of the SASW method. The difficulty involved in the interpretation prohibited the SASW method from being spread over to the industry. This study proposed a new method called the frequency-wave number technique, which is based on the frequency-wave number relationship of the surface wave in the multi-layered system. The frequency-wave number technique eliminates the expertise in the interpretation of the phase spectrum, automates the phase-velocity calculation and expedites the determination of the phase-velocity dispersion curve. To verify the validity of the proposed frequency-wave number method, the transfer function determined from the numerical simulation of the SASW measurements was used fir the calculation of the automatic calculation of the phase velocities and compared with the phase velocities by WinSASW employing the phase-unwrapping method. Also, the proposed method was applied to the real SASW measurements performed at$\bigcirc$$\bigcirc$area in GyeongGi-Do to see how the proposed method works with the real measurements.

Various modeling techniques for ultrasonic wave propagation and scattering problems in finite solid media are presented. Elastodynamic boundary value problems in inhomogeneous multi-layered plate-like structures are set up for modal analysis of guided wave propagation and numerically solved to obtain dispersion curves which show propagation characteristics of guided waves. As a powerful modeling tool to overcome such numerical difficulties in wave scattering problems as the geometrical complexity and mode conversion, the Boundary Element Method(BEM) is introduced and is combined with the normal mode expansion technique to develop the hybrid BEM, an efficient technique for modeling multi mode conversion of guided wave scattering problems. Time dependent wave forms are obtained through the inverse Fourier transformation of the numerical solutions in the frequency domain. 3D BEM program development is underway to model more practical ultrasonic wave signals. Some encouraging numerical results have recently been obtained in comparison with the analytical solutions for wave propagation in a bar subjected to time harmonic longitudinal excitation. It is expected that the presented modeling techniques for elastic wave propagation and scattering can be applied to establish quantitative nondestructive evaluation techniques in various ways.
We have examined the applicability of f-k analysis to the GPR direct wave measurement for water content to characterize vadose zone condition. When the vadose zone consists of a dry surface layer over wet substratum, we obtained f-k spectra where most of the energy is bounded by the air and dry soil velocities. In this case, dry soil velocity was successfully estimated by using high frequency data. On the other hands, when wet soil overlies dry substratum, the f-k spectra show a contrasting response where most of the energy travels with the velocity bounded by dry and wet soil velocities. In this case, the radar waves are trapped and guided within wet soil layer, exhibiting velocity dispersion. By adopting modal propagation theory, we could formulae a simple inversion code to find two layer's dielectric constants as well as layer thickness. By inverting the velocity dispersion curve obtained from f-k spectra of synthetic modeling data, we could obtain good estimates of dielectric constants of each layer as well as first layer thickness. Moreover, we could obtain more accurate results by including the higher mode data. We expect this method will be useful to get the quantitative property of real subsurface when the field condition is similar.
Multiple Lapse Time Window (MLTW) analysis for obtaining intrinsic attenuation value require numerous data without directional bias to compensate focal mechanism. The first window of MLTW, therefore, shows large deviation in fitting smoothed theoretical curve. The information on the focal mechanism may reduce burdens of number and distribution. This study combined algorithm of computing focal mechanism to DSMC method by Yoshimoto (2000). However, the MLTW method based on the numerous data was not applicable to this study, because of the limited data to the almost same fault plane solution. This study showed that the available data was too insufficient to construct smoothed theoretical curve, although the deviation of the first window was improved. Instead of conventional solution by more data, the study seems to be needed for new constraints to obtain smoothed curve.

To investigate the migration behavior of contaminants in rocks. adsorption and diffusion experiments for Sr as a sorbing contaminant and for Cr-EDTA as a non-sorbing contaminant were carried out on granitic rocks. The Sr adsorption on separated minerals and crushed rocks tends to slightly increase with increasing pH. It also greatly decreases with the increase of ionic strength in NaCl solution. Among separated minerals, biotite and sericite have adsorbed much more amount of Sr than other rock-forming minerals, such as quartz, plagioclase, and potassic feldspar, because the specific surfaces and cation exchange capacities of phyllosilicates are generally much greater than those of the other rock-forming minerals. The intrinsic diffusion coefficients of Cr-EBTA for granitic rocks differ little from those of Sr. This indicates that they are independent of water-rock interactions. Experimental data show that the intrinsic diffusion coefficients are positively correlated with the porosities of the rocks. They are close to the theoretically predicted values, especially in pre-steady state diffusion region, with the increase of rock sample thickness.
Inversion of multi-mode surface-wave phase velocity for shallow engineering site investigation has received much attention in recent years. A sensitivity analysis and inversion of both synthetic and field data demonstrates the greater effectiveness of this method over employing the fundamental mode alone. Perturbation of thickness and shear-wave velocity parameters in multi-modal Rayleigh wave phase velocities revealed that the sensitivities of higher modes: (a) concentrate in different frequency bands, and (b) are greater than the fundamental mode for deeper parameters. These observations suggest that multi-mode phase velocity inversion can provide better parameter discrimination and imaging of deep structure, especially with a velocity reversal, than can inversion of fundamental mode data alone. An inversion of the theoretical phase velocities in a model with a low velocity layer at 20 m depth can only image the soft layer when the first higher mode is incorporated. This is especially important when the lowest measurable frequency is only 6 Hz. Field tests were conducted at sites surveyed by borehole and PS logging. At the first site, an array microtremor survey, often used for deep geological surveying in Japan, was used to survey the soil down to 35 m depth. At the second site, linear multichannel spreads with a sledgehammer source were recorded, for an investigation down to 12 m depth. The f-k power spectrum method was applied for dispersion analysis, and velocities up to the second higher mode were observed in each test. The multi-mode inversion results agree well with PS logs, but models estimated from the fundamental mode alone show f large underestimation of the depth to shallow soft layers below artificial fill.
