A Study on the Distance Error Correction of Maritime Object Detection System (해상물체탐지시스템 거리오차 보정에 관한 연구)

  • Maritime object detection systems, which detects small maritime obstacles such as fish farm buoys and visualizes distance and direction, is equipped with a 3-axis gimbal to compensate for errors caused by hull motion, but there is a limit to distance error corrections necessitated by the vertical movement of the camera and the maritime object due to wave motions. Therefore, in this study, the distance error of maritime object detection systems caused by the movement of the water surface according to the external environment is analyzed and corrected using average filter and moving average filter. Random numbers following a Gaussian standard normal distribution were added to or subtracted from the image coordinates to reproduce the rise or fall of the buoy under irregular waves. The distance calculated according to the change of image coordinates, the predicted distance through the average filter and the moving average filter, and the actual distance measured by laser distance meter were compared. In phases 1 and 2, the error rate increased to a maximum of 98.5% due to the changes of image coordinates due to irregular waves, but the error rate decreased to 16.3% with the moving average filter. This error correction capability was better than with the average filter, but there was a limit due to failure to respond to the distance change. Therefore, it is considered that use of the moving average filter to correct the distance error of the maritime object detection system will enhance responses to the real-time distance change and greatly improve the error rate.

  • 이동 객체 데이터베이스에서 위치 불확실성은 이동 객체의 고유한 성질 중 하나이다. 이것은 모델링과 질의 처리 및 질의 결과에 예상치 못한 문제들을 야기시키기 때문에 이를 해결하기 위해 많은 연구들이 진행되어 왔다. 이전의 연구들은 객체의 최근 속력과 방향 정보를 사용하여 불확실한 객체의 위치를 추정하였다. 이 방법은 추정이 간단하고 가까운 미래의 위치와 시간 추정에는 유용하지만 계획된 경로를 가진 미래의 먼 위치와 시간의 추정에는 적합하지 않다. 따라서, 이 논문에서는 계획된 경로를 가진 이동객체의 미래의 불확실한 시간을 추정하는 방법을 제안한다. 계획된 경로를 이동하는 객체일지라도 기계적인 오류와 예기치 못한 상황들로 인하여 실제 객체의 위치와 계획된 경로는 정확히 일치 하지는 않는다. 그렇지만 객체의 위치는 계획된 경로에 근접하여 위치할 확률이 가장 높으므로 우리는 계획된 경로에 객체의 궤적을 투영시킨다. 또한 미래의 시간을 추정을 위하여 웹사이트에서 제공하는 차량의 평균속도를 사용한다. 제공된 평균 속도는 일반 차량의 평균 속도이므로 우리는 이를 가공하여 미래 시간을 추정한다.

Flame Detection Using Haar Wavelet and Moving Average in Infrared Video (적외선 비디오에서 Haar 웨이블릿과 이동평균을 이용한 화염검출)

  • In this paper, we propose a flame detection method using Haar wavelet and moving averages in outdoor infrared video sequences. Our proposed method is composed of three steps which are Haar wavelet decomposition, flame candidates detection, and their tracking and flame classification. In Haar wavelet decomposition, each frame is decomposed into 4 sub- images(LL, LH, HL, HH), and also computed high frequency energy components using LH, HL, and HH. In flame candidates detection, we compute a binary image by thresholding in LL sub-image and apply morphology operations to the binary image to remove noises. After finding initial boundaries, final candidate regions are extracted using expanding initial boundary regions to their neighborhoods. In tracking and flame classification, features of region size and high frequency energy are calculated from candidate regions and tracked using queues, and we classify whether the tracked regions are flames by temporal changes of moving averages.

Estimation of Tidal Residual Flow and Its Variability in Kyunggi Bay of Korea (경기만 조석 잔차류 산정 및 변동성)

  • The Kyunggi Bay in mid-west of Korea is a relatively large estuarine system that connects the Han River system with Yellow Sea. Due to macro-tidal range of more than 8 m, the urban estuary shows deep tidal channels and wide tidal flats. Since last 30 years, the coastal development is undergoing, yielding noticeable change in environment. Particularly the tidal flat dynamics are generally accepted as being related with tidal residual flows in this area (Kim et al., 2009). We have estimated the annual variation and vertical structure of residual currents with one-year long observed flows in two major tidal channels of Kyunggi Bay. The moving average method and tidal current harmonic analysis yield nearly the same results on residual flow. The residual flow in Jangbong channel ranges from 20 cm/s in summer to 30 cm/s in winter. It is noticeable that the residual flow in Jangbong channel is flood dominant throughout the year, while the flow in Seokmo channel is ebb-dominant residual flow with current speed range of 20-40 cm/s. Due to the baroclinic response of relatively shallow estuary, significant reduction of energy in bottom layers have been observed, indicating the importance of residual circulation to the tidal flat behavior.

  • A Korean exporience life table(male) is constructed by using a mixture of weighted moving average(WMA) model and Gompertz' parametric survival model based on 25,000,000 insured of major 6 life insurance companies from 1988 to 1992. The graduated values are taken as those which minimize the composite measure of fittness and smoothness. Moreover, we propose closed form estimators for three parameters of Gompertz' model.

  • A non-linear numerical tidal model of the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea is used to derive the mean and maximum bed stress the mean and maximum transport potential on the continental shelf. It has provided a preliminary assessment of relation between sediment transport paths and the mean and maximum bed stress distribution determined from the numerical model.

  • In this paper, We proposed the efficient method of cleaning impulse noise using mean shift segmentation. This method do its job for the pixel which is identified as impulse noise using mean shift segmentation instead of all pixel of image by the existing method. we found that the quality of image is improved by measuring the sum of square error in result image and impulse noise is cleaned efficiently by doing experiment.

  • In this paper, a practical and simple scheme is described for the implementation of a moving average filter which is known to be able to provide low pass filter characteristics, and the estimated cut off frequency formulation of the filter and filtering algorithm are presented for the filter design. Some results of an experimental system using the commerical Z-80 microprocessor are given. It shown that high frequency noises are canceled effectively in frequency domain and time domain experiments and that results of the estimated cut off frequency formular is compared with measured one.

  • 제3세대 이동 통신 시스템에서 상향 링크와 하향 링크 사이에 불균형적인 타임 슬롯 할당이 가능한 TD/CDMA TDD 시스템은 비대칭적인 트래픽을 효과적으로 분배하는데 적합하다. 게다가 TD/CDMA TDD 시스템은 슬롯이 시간 영역과 코드 영역에서 정의되기 때문에 유효 자원의 statistical multiplexing이 매우 효과적이다. 그러나 상향 링크와 하향 링크사이의 트래픽의 비대칭성을 반영하기 위해서 타임 슬롯을 최적으로 할당시킬 수 있는 동적 경계선이 요구된다. 본 논문에서 슬롯의 하향 링크부분이 이동국의 접근 시도의 정도에 따라 최대화되는 새로운 최적의 TDD 경계선 제어 움직임 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘에서 이동국의 평균 접근 시도가 미리 정의된 상한 임계치를 초과할 경우, TDD 경계선은 평균 접근 시도가 다른 하한 임계치 아래로 내려갈 때까지 프레임의 중앙에 위치한다. 본 논문에서 모의실험 결과를 통하여 제안된 알고리즘이 기존의 TDD 경계선 알고리즘보다 데이터 트래픽의 평균 접근 지연과 음성 트래픽의 블록킹 확률 측면에서 훨씬 더 좋은 성능을 나타냄을 입증하였다.
