Data synchronization between data stored in mobile communication terminals and data in a central server is one of essential tasks for efficient mobile communication environments. Since, however, manufacturers of mobile terminals have their proprietary data synchronization mechanisms, data interoperability can hardly be achieved. In this paper, an integrated data synchronization gateway based SyncML is designed and implemented. SyncML data synchronization is one of open standards proposed by OMA(Open Motile Alliance). In other words, by constructing a data synchronization gateway which can transform various proprietary data into SyncML data and vice versa, data interoperability between mobile terminals which use different data synchronization mechanisms can be achieved. With an integrated data synchronization gateway system implemented in this work, interoperability among WinCE-based ActiveSync data, PalmOs-based HotSync data and OMA SyncML data can be achieved.

Therefore, SyncML data synchronization mechanism in mobile communication environments was proposed as an open standard by OMA(Open Mobile Alliance). In this paper, a SyncML-based data synchronization gateway is designed and implemented which can process ActiveSync data also. In other words, by constructing a combined data synchronization gateway which can transform ActiveSync data into SyncML data, data interoperability between mobile terminals which use two different data synchronization mechanisms can be achieved, In addition, mobile communication experiments between ActiveSync-based terminals and a SyncML-based central server show that the data synchronization gateway constructed in this paper, works correctly.

이동통신서비스 가입자 수에 대한 예측은 이제까지 주로 확산모형(diffusion model)에 의한 신규가입 자 수의 예측을 위주로 발전되어 왔다. 그러나, 소비자들의 다양한 욕구의 변화 및 관련 기술의 발전으로 인하여 디지털이동전화, 발신전용이동전화 등의 신규 이동통신 서비스들이 시장에 소개됨에 따라 기존 이동통신서비스 가입자들중 다수가 그 서비스를 해지하고 새로운 경쟁 서비스로 전환하게 되었다. 이 경우 특정 이동통신서비스의 기존 가입자 중에서 발생되는 해지자 수를 정확히 예측하는 것은 해당 이동통신 가입자 수를 합리적이고 정확히 예측하기 위해 매우 중요한 문제이나, 기존의 연구에서는 해지자 수의 예측을 확산모형을 확장시켜 적용하거나, 설문조사에 따른 방대한 자료의 분석에 의존하여 왔다. 이에 본 연구에서는 이동통신서비스의 기존 가입자가 지니는 해지 특성을 가입시기에 따른 해지성향과 특정시점의 가입자가 나타내는 해지까지의 가입수명분포로 정의하고, 기존의 해지자 수 자료에서 해지성향 및 가입수명분포를 추정함으로써 해지자 수를 예측할 수 있는 모형을 개발하여, 이를 기존의 아날로그 셀룰라폰의 해지자 수 예측에 적용하였다.

As the necessity of such mobile wireless terminals as PDAs or Cellular phones drastically increases, the terminals play important role in various business areas. In this paper, a bidding system in mobile wireless environments is constructed. However, with many mobile wireless terminals modifying at the same time their (duplicated) bidding values for a given data item, data coherency for the data item becomes essential. Therefore, in this paper, a bidding system using SyncML data synchronization mechanism is proposed and constructed. SyncML is one of data synchronization mechanisms proposed by the SyncML Initiative, a consortium of mobile wireless mobile technology leaders for universal data synchronization. The bidding system is implemented and tested in LINUX, C++, and PocketPC 2000 emulator programming environments.

본 자료에서는 디지털 이동통신 환경에서 정보 보호 기술의 핵심으로 고려해야 하는 인증 방식에 대해 현재 유럽의 대표적인 이동통신 시스템인 GSM과 미국의 IS-95를 들어 키준비, 인증 방식, 인증 관련 파라미터, 그리고 글로벌 로밍 서비스 지원 측면에서 분석하였다. 또한 이동통신에서의 인증 위협요인과 인증 방식의 분석을 통해 차세대 디지털 이동통신 시스템 IMT-2000에서 필요한 인증 요구사항을 기술하였다.

Recently, mobile phone data was applied in travel demand modeling as a new source of dynamic population movement. This study is also aimed to estimate "occupancy population" during a given period of time within a given spatial region using mobile phone data. An occupancy population was defined as the number of people residing or moving within a given time and space. In case of Seoul Metropolitan area, we divided the area into a number of administrative districts as zones for analysis and estimated the occupancy population of each zone by mobile phone data collected by SK telecom Co., a wireless telecommunication provider in Korea. For the expansion of mobile phone data, a new concept of "communication probability" was introduced and applied in the estimation of occupancy population of each zone by the hour. We compared the estimated number with the daytime population and the daytime population index referred by the Statistics Korea. The results showed that a positive correlation existed between the estimated number and the statistical number by nationwide survey. It was concluded that mobile phone data could be more cost-effective sources than a conventional survey method to estimate the pattern of population movement by the hour or by the day.

통신사업의 경쟁 체제 도입과 사업영역의 철폐로 인하여 번호자원에 대한 개방화가 선진국을 중심으로 진행되고 있다. 이로 인하여 통신 사업에 신규로 진입하고자 하는 사업자는 사업자간 번호이동성을 보장하는 것이 기본적인 사업 참여요건이 되고 있으며, 기존 사업자 입장에서도 사업자간 번호이동성에 대한 적절한 대처 방안이 정립되어야 한다. 본 고에서는 사업자간 번호이동성 문제를 통신사업자 관점에서의 대처 방안과 실현 방안을 수립하기 위하여 번호이동성 문제를 정의하고 이의 실현 기술, 운용 관리, 경제성, 국제 표준 동향, 국내 통신사업 현황 측면에서 분석한다. 본 연구 결과는 국내 번호이동성 도입을 위한 사전 검토 자료로 활용할 수 있다.

D2D 통신은 이동통신 단말 간 직접통신을 지원함으로써 단말 간 통신 성능과 무선자원의 사용효율을 향상시킬 수 있는 기술이다. 본 논문에서는 D2D 단말이 기존 이동통신망의 무선자원을 재사용하는 경우 발생할 수 있는 간섭의 영향과 그로 인한 이동통신망의 통신성능을 분석한다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 D2D 단말의 위치, 송신전력, 페어 간 거리에 따른 이동통신 및 D2D 통신의 성능변화를 확인하였으며, 해당 결과는 향후 D2D 간섭완화 관련 연구를 위한 참고자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
