Recently, the mobile telecommunication industry is increasing rapidly; nevertheless it is competing severely with other mobile telecommunication industries in the world and it is projected that in the future the mobile telecommunication industry will compete more fiercely and increase more rapidly. By means of looking into characteristics of the mobile, therefore, it can be said that it can help the companies which want to survive in such a competitive society.

TTA는 CDMA 이동전화단말기에 대해 CDG(CDMA Development Group)와 KOLAS(Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme)에서 요구하는 국제 품질시험 규격을 시험할 수 있는 시험 시설을 갖추고 있다. 이러한 TTA의 시험 환경은 국내 이동전화단말기 제조업체를 상대로 하고 있다. 본 고에서는 2003년 11월까지 진행되어온 휴대폰 개발업체에 대한 시험 내용 및 시험 실적을 간단히 소개하도록 한다.

최근 모바일 컴퓨팅 기술이 발전되면서, PDA 등과 같은 소형 컴퓨팅 장치가 빠른 속도로 보급되고 있다. PDA는 이동전화나 무선 LAN 등을 통해서 다른 PDA 또는 일반 컴퓨터에 접속해서 메일 수신, 인터넷, 채팅 등에 사용되고 있다. 우리는 PDA간 또는 PDA와 데스크탑 컴퓨터간의 음성통신 기능을 제공하는 음성 전화 시스템을 개발하였다. 본 논문은 우리가 개발한 음성 전화 시스템의 기능, 구조, 구현을 소개한다. 우리의 음성 전화 시스템은 Windows CE 환경 하에서 동작하고 H.323을 지원하도록 설계되어있다. 또한, 본 논문에서는 음성통신을 위한 송, 수신 버퍼 사용의 효율적인 방법을 제안한다. 우리의 조사에 의하면, Windows CE 기반의 음성전화시스템에 대한 기존 연구가 거의 발표되지 않았다.

SK텔레콤은 1984년 차량전화서비스를 개시한 이래로 무선호출서비스, 아날로그 이동전화 서비스, CDMA 이동전화서비스, CDMA2000 1X/EV-DO 및 WCDMA서비스를 위한 이동통신망들을 연이어 구축해 왔다. 이러한 다양한 서비스 통신망을 구성하는 많은 망장비들을 관리하기 위해 통신망에 대한 망관리시스템 구축은 필수적이었고, 다양한 방식으로 망관리시스템 구축이 시도되었다. 비교적 짧은 기간내 통신망을 구축, 확대하고, 새로운 이동통신망을 도입하면서 기존망과 연동시키는 일들은 망장비에 대한 빈번한 패키지 변경을 낳았고, 이는 특히 망장비로부터 망관리 정보를 수집하고 망관리시스템으로의 보고를 담당하는 망관리대행자(Agent)의 안정성 및 유지보수 문제를 야기시켰다. 이에 본 논문에서는 기존에 개발되었던 망관리대행자들이 가지고 있던 다양한 문제점들을 제시하고 이를 해결하기 위한 망관리대행자에 대한 새로운 구축방안을 제시한다

This paper describes the network configuration, No. 7 signaling IS-41.A protocol and basic operations for the RFC(Remote Feature Control) service which is one of the supplementary services provided in the mobile telephone network. In order to solve the protocol error occurred while providing the RFC service for analog system, this paper suggests three schemes and analyse detail signal algorithm for the proposed schemes. Through the simulations, it is verified the best choice of the proposed schemes without the signaling procedure error.

Internet phone (VoIP) services in Korea have achieved noticeable growth year after year since the service launching, and the growth still coninues. The market of mobile internet phone also expands sharply. Therefore, it is crucial to deploy networks which can support mobile internet phone services with excellent quality. For mobile internet phone services, it will be necessary to build and use networks with good mobility and high transmission rate. Current wireless networks for Internet services include 3G, Wi-Fi, and mobile WiMAX networks. 3G provides good mobility but lower transmission rate, whereas Wi-Fi exhibits excellent transmission rate but less mobility. Mobile WiMAX networks taking the merits of both, high mobility and transmission rate, are being deployed widely in recent years. This article examines the recent standardization efforts of WiMAX Forum for VoIP service in WiMAX networks.

'이동전화 가입자수 3232만명, 무선인터넷이 가능한 이동전화 보급대수 2884만대' 지난해 10월 정보통신부가 발표한 국내 이동통신 인프라 현황이다. 이는 국내 모바일 환경이 이미 세계적인 수준에 올라 있음을 말해주는 동시에 바로 모바일 미디어를 매개로 한 '모바일 콘텐츠'가 향후 우리의 문화 콘텐츠 경쟁력을 좌우할 핵심 콘텐츠 가운데 하나로 급부상하기 위한 엄청난 잠재력을 내포하고 있음을 의미하는 지표다. 하지만 이는 곧 세계 문화콘텐츠 시장을 지배하기 위해서는 모바일 분야에 대한 집중적인 육성책 마련이 시급하다는 의미이기도 하다. 모바일 분야에서도 네트워크 및 IT인프라가 구축된 이후에는 이를 통해 소통할 수 있는 콘텐츠가 중요하기 때문이다. 주목받는 모바일 콘텐츠 시장을 취재했다.

현재 인터넷 망에서 실시간 트래픽과 양 방향 전송을 실현하기 위한 인터넷 전화는 비용과 서비스측면에서의 장점을 바탕으로 많은 관심을 끌고 있다. 지금까지의 인터넷 전화 프로토콜의 대표적인 표준안은 ITU에서 제안된 H.323과 IETF에서 제안된 SIP(Session Initiation Protocol)이다. 그러나, 현재의 H.323 표준안은 유선망과 고정 호스트로 이루어진 패킷망에 적합하도록 설계되었기 때문에 이동 인터넷망의 특성을 고려하지 않고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이동환경에서 인터넷 전화 서비스를 제공하기 위한 Mobile IP와 H.323dml 통합 구조를 제안하였다. 현재 Mobile IP에서 제안된 표준안을 확장함으로써 인트라 도메인(intra-domain)에서의 IP 이동성을 제공하도록 하였으며, 인터 도메인(inter-domain)에서의 IP 이동성을 제공하기 위하여 게이트웨이에서의 다중 연결 유징 방법을 제안하였다. 따라서, 본 논문에서 제안한 방법은 기존의 H.323 표준의 최소 변경과 추가적인 새로운 개체의 정의가 필요 없으며, 기존의 H.323 시스템들과 호환성을 유지할 수 있다는 장점을 지니고 있다.

Number portability facilitates that a customer can keep their phone number when changing from one network operator to another. There are three types of NP, that is the operator portability, the service portability and the location portability. Political regulation is required, because number portability induces the transfer of benefits from suppliers to customers and activate the competition among firms. In this paper, we will examin the domestic trends of number portability and analysis the effort of number portability on the competition among firms.

2000년 1월 1일 0시 1분! 천년이 바뀌어도 여전히 속삭이고 싶은 연인들이 새벽에도 잠못 이루고 거는 사랑의 전화. 집 떠난 아들 걱정에 참고 참다 이동전화 다이얼을 누르는 어머니의 모정. 수출전선에서 밤을 낮으로 알고 일하는 모 기업의 국제전화. 이 모든 통화들이 2000년에도 변함없이 안정적으로 이뤄지기 위해서는 통신시스템의 Y2K문제해결이 전제되어야 할 것이다. 그럼 통신분야의 Y2K문제해결을 위하여 그동안 추진한 상황과 앞으로의 계획에 대하여 언급하겠다.
