GIS에서는 최근 들어 분산 이기종 환경에 있어서의 상호운용성 문제에 대한 관심이 점차적으로 증가하고 있다. 또한 웹 기반 GIS 기술도 활성화 단계에 있다. 이러한 움직임과 함께 XML은 차세대웹기반 표준 언어로 주목받고 있다. XML은 표준에 기반하여 개방성과 지리정보와 같은 비정형의 데이터를 처리하는데 적절한 특징을 가진다. 따라서 점차적으로 GIS기술에 있어서도 XML을 사용하고자 하는 많은 요구가 생겨났다. 본 고에서는 이를 위해 XML기반 GIS기술의 동향과 관련 기술을 소개하고 예제를 통해 활용 가능성을 보인다.

웹 서비스는 기존 분산 처리기술과 인터넷 기술에 기반한 기술이며, 이기종 시스템간의 데이터를 자연스럽게 공유하고 통신하는 것을 목적으로 등장한 기술이다. 또한 웹서비스 기술로 구현된 프로그램은 필요한 곳에서 proxy object를 생성해서 사용할 수 있으므로, 다른 개발 환경에서 작성된 프로그램이라도 호출해서 사용할 수 있게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 프로그램을 공유하는 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 보안 요구사항을 도출해보고 보안을 위해 XML Signature와 XML Encryption을 적용한 안전한 프로그램 공유 시스템을 제시해 본다.

Java is platform-independent and supports uniform solutions from mobile area (J2ME) to enterprise area (J2EE), so Java is a good development tool for the environment of heterogeneous machines and distributed applications. Java applications need access control module as a Java package. In this paper, we design and implement it. Therefore Java developers can reduce development time, and system managers easily do access control work. Proposed module is based on Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) model and includes a Java package and administration tool.

대용량 멀티미디어 미디어 서버를 구성함에 있어 I/O 병목현상을 극복하기 위하여 저장 서버들과 제어 서버로 구성되어진 2계층 분산 클러스터 서버구조가 많이 사용된다. 2 계층 분산 클러스터 서버는 부하 균등, 대역폭 관리 및 저장 서버의 관리 측면에서 유리한 반면, 저장 서버와 제어 서버간의 통신 오버헤드를 발생시킨다. 이러한 오버헤드를 줄이기 위해서는 저장 서버에서 읽은 미디어 데이터를 제어 서버를 거치지 않고 직접 클라이언트에 전송할 수 있어야 한다. 그리고, 저장 용량을 확장하거나 손상된 디스크를 교체하는 경우를 대비하여 분산 클러스터 서버는 다양한 성능의 이기종 디스크를 지원하여야 한다. 또한, I/O 장치와 운영체제가 빠르게 발전됨에 따라 미디어 서버는 새로운 I/O 장치 및 운영체제 등에 쉽게 이식될 수 있어야 하고, 응용 소프트웨어 개발자가 시스템의 환경에 따라 블록크기, 데이터 배치정책, 사본 정책 등을 유연하게 조절할 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서 위에서 언급한 멀티미디어 서버의 요구를 고려하여 Fast Ethernet 환경에서 병렬 멀티미디어 파일 시스템(PMFS : Parallel Multimedia File System)을 설계 및 구현하고 실험을 통해 PVFS(Parallel Virtual File System)와 성능을 비교 분석하였다. 이 실험의 결과에 따르면 PMFS는 멀티미디어 데이터에 대하여 PVFS보다 3%∼15%의 향상된 성능을 보였다.

In order to solve the increasing security problems, IDSs(Intrusion Detection System) have appeared. However, local IDSs have a limit to detect various intrusions in a large-scale network environment. So there are a lot of researches in progress which organize the elements of IDS in a distributed or hierarchical manner. In this paper, we design a integrated IDS which exchanges messages between them through the standardized message format (IDMEF) and communication protocol (IDXP). We also propose a policy profile for an effective control of IDSs, and employ the PKI mechanism for mutual authentication. We implement a prototype system for the proposed IDSs communicating with Snort and analyze its performance.

As network security is coming up with significant problem after the major Internet sites were hacked nowadays, IDS(Intrusion Detection System) is considered as a next generation security solution for more trusted network and system security. We propose the new IDS model which can detect intrusion in the expanded distribute environment in host level, drawback of existing IDS, and implement prototype. We used pattern extraction agent so that we extract automatically audit file needed in intrusion detection even in other platforms.

Object technologies like the OMG's CORBA are enabling technologies the aim to facilitate integration implementation of diverse software components in distributed. heterogeneous environment. CORBA and similar object integration technologies define a standard component interconnection and inter-operation model , promote object-oriented principles to encapsulate incompatible component implementations. In this Paper. we present a connector model for software architectural representation of complex component collaborations. Our Connector model is base on research in software achitecture and object-oriented modeling. and part of a design framework for modeling component-based system. We believe the connector concepts to be vary benificial for a clear expression of dependencies between multiple component in Java Bean-based system.

인터넷 및 분산 환경에서 XML은 애플리케이션 간의 자료 저장 및 자료 교환을 위한 표준으로써, XML 문에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 따라서 이기종 관계형 데이터베이스 시스템들 간의 메타데이터 및 데이터 교환을 위해 W3C에서 제안한 XML Schema를 사용한다. XML Schema는 평면적 구조인 관계형 데이터베이스 시스템의 메타데이터 및 데이터를 계층적 구조인 XML 문서형식으로 나타낼 수 있는 메커니즘을 가지고 있으며, 다양한 원시 데이터 형식을 지원하여 관계형 데이터베이스 시스템이 제공하는 데이터형식을 충분히 반영할 수 있는 구조를 가지고 있다. 또한 기존의 이질적인 전자상거래 플랫폼을 사용하므로 인해 발생하는 시스템간의 상호 호환 및 운영의 어려움이 있다. 그러나 분산 환경에서 이질적인 특성을 해결하기 위해서 XML을 기반으로 하는 쇼핑몰들의 통합된 정보를 검색할 수 있는 사이트가 등장하고 있어 고객들이 구매하고자 하는 상품에 대한 정보를 보다 쉽게 검색할 수 있도록 각종 쇼핑몰 사이트를 연결하여 통합하는 과정이 진행 중이다. 따라서 상품을 검색할 때 메타데이터를 이용하여 선택에 필요한 정보를 고객에게 제공함으로서 상품을 효율적으로 검색할 수 있다. 따라서 XML기반으로 분산된 이 기증의 시스템들을 온톨로지(Ontology)기반의 메타데이터를 이용하여 상품을 검색할 수 있는 시스템을 제안하고, 온톨로지 기반의 메타데이터 XMDR(eXtended MetaData Registry)을 이용한 상품 검색 시스템을 효율적으로 검색하기 위한 온톨로지 서버 구축에 관한 방법을 제안한다.

최근 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 분야가 이슈로 떠오르면서 유비쿼터스 환경하에 각종 디바이스들이 이기종 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어 자원에 종속되지 않고 손쉽고, 자유롭게 외부환경과 이음새 없는 서비스를 지원하기 위한 미들웨어 기술의 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 유비쿼터스 지향 미들웨어는 향후 개발될 새로운 기술이나 디바이스들을 용이하게 유비쿼터스 컴퓨터에 수용할 수 있고, 사용자나 시장의 요구에 따라 손쉽게 확장과 축소할 수 있는 적응성, 융통성, 재사용성을 만족시킬 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 분산 미들웨어인 COM/DCOM과 CORBA를 비교하여 유비쿼터스 환경을 위한 미들웨어로서 CORBA가 좀더 적합함을 설명하고, 유비쿼터스 환경에서 원활한 서비스를 지원해 주기 위해서는 우수한 성능의 미들웨어가 요구되기 때문에 DCOM 보다 범용성이 뛰어난 코바 기반 미들웨어를 성능평가 한다.

Nowadays, document management system is used to share the information using intranet in some enterprises. But for enterprise that is to share information with other enterprises, a simple information sharing environment like homepage or email is used. The goal of CALS is to increase productivity through rapid exchange of shared information between enterprises. CITIS is a software infrastructure in CALS and service standard to share the CALS data among business organizations. CITIS can be used as a software infrastructure for constructing virtual enterprise in the internet. In this paper, we design and implement CITIS prototype on the internet. Java is selected as an implementation language fer its portability and web-based characteristics. CORBA is an communication middleware for distributed objects.
