Foreign culture, introduced by cultural exchange, was modified and accepted into a new form and value system. Culture speaks for the characters of the period, so it is presented by the mutual actions of many factors affecting culture. Religion is the essence of human life and the source of ideas about life, the universe and existence, so they become hidden inside of the structure of culture. Dancing costumes present the process of cultural modification and acceptance more vividly than general costumes. This research shows that, among foreign cultures, it is Buddhism that most influenced Chinese dancing costume. Taoism was the Chinese native religion that played an oppositional role against Buddhism. Taoism was hidden in Chinese dancing costume in every age. Chinese dancing costume changed many times due to the import of exotic styles such as Buddhism that partially replaced the Taoistic tradition. Therefore, it is confirmed that the process of cultural importation of exotic style was different according to the social, historical, and cultural backgrounds of China during the period from the Han to the Sui and Tang dynasties.

The purpose of this study is to examine the recent various developments of men's fashion by analyzing how exotic tastes were presented in men's modern fashion from 2001 to 2010. For this purpose, a researcher reviewed relevant studies to identify the styles of exotic tastes that were reflected in men's modern fashion specifically in Chinese, Japanese, Indian, East Asian, American, North American and South American styles. Findings of this study is summarized as follows. Main examples of men's modern fashion were found in Chinese-style apparel such as the magwae, queue, coolie hat and the Mao jacket. The Kimono and the samurai robe, both of which best represent Japanese apparel and the Japanese traditional patterns also had an influence on men's modern fashion Indian style clothing such as dhoti, veshti and lungi which cover the lower body, vajani as loose trousers, kurta of full-over tunic form and turban also had an effect as well. The men's modern fashion is also impacted by Middle Asian styles that includes the thobe, sirwaal, futah, which is sort of a skirt that is long enough to cover the calf and whose front parts overlap each other, turbans and the hempen hood which is fixed with the agal. Exotic elements such as animal skins, body painting, tattoos and head dresses found in African styles can also be found in men's modern fashion. Parts of North American style influence come from the applications of Indians' costume and head dress. The surveyed men's modern fashion of the South America style was represented by the applications of natives' costume and Andean tunic, loincloth and shawl. In all of the exotic styles found in men's modern fashion, historicity, eclecticism, aestheticism and nature-orientation are implied. They are the source of inspirations that promote changes and diversity in men's modern fashion.

The purpose of this study is to examine the features of the conversational patterns presented on the fashion in the early 2000's and analyze it from cultural view. The expression of the patterns is a result of a creative aesthetic activity, mental activity, and the reflection of the common cognition. And the fashion is a part of the life environment. So the patterns presented on the fashion provides a clue to figure out the common unconscious sense for explaining the culture. The patterns have been expressed with different methods belonging to each culture such as weaving and prints. And those of the each cultural group have been communicating each other. The silk came to the Europe in the 6th century. The textile industry which flourished since 15th century. And they shows the chinoiserie or indian prints, not only the european culture. We can observe that the exchange of the techniques and cultures between cultural groups like the east and the west, and the presentation of the patterns is a way to express their own desires. The patterns presented after 2,000 can be classified by the form and the contents. But, more specifically, the patterns classified by the contents, which is Conversational design, can be categorized as followed according to the origin; reflecting cultural identity, Popular culture, Lohas lifestyle, and art movements. Which can be summarized as that the people have more interest on the different cultural group, diversity, retrospectiveness, and exoticism, which the patterns originally belonged to than on the form itself.

관광지는 관광자의 체험을 바탕으로 그들의 심상에 맺혀진 하나의 풍경으로 존재한다. 풍경은 이야기를 통해 사회적으로 구성된 실체다. 본 연구는 관광지의 이야기 풍경에 대한 개념을 소개하고, 한국관광자가 이야기하고 있는 도쿄의 풍경 사례를 통해 구체적으로 풍경이 어떻게 구성되는지를 탐구하고 시사점을 모색했다. 한국관광자가 그리고 있는 도쿄의 풍경은 크게 여덟 가지다. 첫째, 노스탤지어 풍경이다. 둘째, 이국취향 풍경이다. 셋째, 로맨틱한 풍경이다. 넷째, 스펙터클 풍경이다. 다섯째, 웅장한 풍경이다. 여섯째, 환타지 풍경이다. 일곱째, 모호한 풍경이다. 여덟째, 미디어 풍경이다. 이와 같은 이야기 풍경에 근거하여 관광공급자는 관광자를 능동적 담론생산의 주체로 인정하고, 관광자 중심의 풍경을 생산해야 하며, 상상과 현실이 일치되는 정보를 제공함으로써 관광자의 불편을 감소시켜야 할 것이다.

본 연구에서는 패션에 나타난 아프리카 이미지에 대한 정확한 시각과 현대 패션의 이해를 목적으로 서양사에서 바라보는 아프리카 이미지와 예술, 아프리카복식의 일반적 특징, 아프리카 이미지의 패션 등장배경 및 시대적 흐름을 토대로 하여 2005 S/S컬렉션에 나타난 디자이너와 디자인작품을 요소별로 분석하여 아프리카 이미지를 도출하였다. 2005년 S/S세계 4대 컬렉션에서 선정된 10개의 디자이너와 브랜드 작품에 나타난 아프리카 이미지는 'Wild Erotic', 'Abstract Primitive', 'Natural Elegant', 'Sporty Romantic'의 4가지 특성으로 나타났으며, 이를 디자인, 디자이너, 패션트렌드 측면에서 아프리카 이미지에 대한 현대 패션의 시각을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 현대 패션에서 아프리카 패션은 주술적, 종교적 의미보다는 장식적인 디테일을 강조하는 경향으로 나타났다. 즉, 토속적인 감각과 도시적 인 감각을 조화시켜 주술적 의미에서 장식적 의미로 이들을 차용하였다. 둘째, 패션디자이너는 아프리카의 원시성, 순수성의 힘을 현대인의 회귀심리 및 자연의 순수성에 대한 동경과 결합시켜 아프리카 이미지를 패션문화의 한 코드로 인식시키고 현대 여성의 도시적 야성미를 독특한 스타일로 연출하였다. 셋째, 아프리카 이미지는 원시생활속의 미의식에서 찾을 수 있는 창작 디자인으로서의 영감은 물론 이국취향의 창의적인 이미지로 연출되어 패션트렌드의 강한 키워드로 자리매김하며 21세기 초두의 트렌드를 주도하였다.
