The crossing the border into Liadong by Mangong and Jeokhyu, the high priests in the early Joseon Dynasty, and the rebuilding of the Chinese, Buddhist temples (조선초 고승 만공(滿空)과 적휴(適休)의 요동(遼東) 월경(越境)과 중국사찰 중창)

  • This study took a look at the crossing the border into Liadong in the early Joseon Dynasty, which has nearly not been paid attention to in the history of the Buddhism in Korea, and the Chinese, Buddhist whereabouts of Monk Mangong and Jeokhyu, the periodical, Buddhist priests. Regarding the large-scale, Buddhist oppression measures of King Taejong in the beginning of the Joseon Dynasty and King Sejong, the Buddhist circle did not not respond helplessly, but, rather, it had made the resistance on its own way. Especially, the Naonghyegeum of Jogyeseonjong and the disciple affiliates of Taegobowu had stood out. The disciples of Bowu had mainly hit the Sinmungo or had advocated the self-purification of Buddhism. And the disciple affiliates of Naong either had reorganized the Buddhist circle with Muhak in the center or had opposed the suppression. And, by receiving the help of the Emperor of the Ming Dynasty, they had intended to protect the Buddhist circle, or they, also, crossed the border into Liadong. Although, while attempting the crossing the border into another territory, they were arrested like the sea ships, like Mangong of King Taejong and Jeokhyu of King Sejong, they succeeded in crossing the border into another territory, and they left the clear whereabouts in the Chinese, Buddhist circle. Mangong was one Buddhist monk among the 11 Buddhist monks who crossed the border into Liadong during the King Taejong. After crossing the border, Mangong had moved again from Beijing on a sea route and had settled for after going into a mountain in the Zen sect at the Tienchieh temple in Nanjing. Meanwhile, he had been close to the Joseon Dynasty, and he relocated to Mount Taishan, where there had been the history, thereby rebuilding the Chikurin Temple and the Buchauchan temple and widely publicizing the Buddhism. During the time of King Sejong, by crossing the border into Liadong together with a total of 10 Monks, including the Buddhist monks Shinnae, Shinhyu, Shindam, Hyeseon, Hongjeok, Haebi, Shinyeon, Honghye, Shinwun, etc., under the protection by the Emperor of the Ming Dynasty in Beijing, Jeokhyu went through Shanhaiguan and had moved to the Tienchieh Temple in Nanjing. Although their whereabouts can not be known, on the Guji Mountain in Beijing, Jeokhyu founded the Banyaseonsa Temple nearby the Ryeongamseonsa Temple, where the clergy and the laity of the Goryeo Dynasty had resided and, especially, where Naong and the disciples of Muhak etc. had stayed. As such, the Buddhist monks in the beginning of the Joseon Dynasty had either resisted the suppression by the country or crossed the border into another territory. Mangong and Jeokhyu of the times of King Taejong and King Sejong had led the Chinese, Buddhism circle, had rebuilt the Buddhist temples, and had contributed to the development of the Chinese Buddhism.

남병길의 성경(星鏡) 별자리를 활용한 혼상(渾象) 제작

  • 조선(朝鮮)의 혼상(渾象)은 세종대(世宗代, 1418~1450)에 처음 제작되었다. 그 후 중종대(中宗代, 1506~1544)와 명종대(明宗代, 1545~1567)에 이를 보수를 하고, 선조대(宣祖代, 1567~1608)에 중수되었으나 현존하지 않고 있다. 민간에서 제작한 혼상은 16세기에 만든 도산서원의 혼상 유물이 유일한 것이다. 그 후 18세기에 만들어진 홍대용(洪大容, 1731~1783)의 혼상의(渾象儀)는 문헌으로만 전해지고 있다. 17세기 이전에 만들어진 혼상은 구법(舊法) 천문도에 의해 만들어졌지만, 17세기 이후에는 서양 과학의 유입으로 신법(新法)의 별자리를 사용하고 있다. 중국과 일본의 현존하는 혼상 유물 중에는 신법 별자리로 표기되어 있으며, 조선 후기 조선의 유물 가운데 평혼의(平渾儀) 유물은 신법의 별자리를 활용하고 있다. 최근 국내에서 복원한 혼상들은 구법 천문도로 제작되어왔다. 이 연구에서는 1861년 남병길(南秉吉, 1820~1869)이 저술한 조선의 신법을 대표할 수 있는 성표(星表)인 "성경(星鏡)"의 별자리를 활용하여 혼상을 제작하였다. 혼상구(渾象球)에는 적도좌표(赤道座標)와 황도좌표(黃道座標)를 함께 표기한 경선(經線)과 위선(緯線)을 각각 $30^{\circ}$ 간격으로 표기하였다. 또한 적도환(赤道環)에는 12궁(宮)을 표기하였고, 황도환(黃道環)에는 $15^{\circ}$ 간격으로 24기(氣)를 표기하였다. 별을 표기할 때 성경에 제시한 밝기와 같이 6등급으로 나누어 별의 크기를 제작하였다. 남병길의 "성경" 별자리를 활용한 혼상 제작으로 신법 별자리의 천상(天象)에 대한 이해와 연구 모델로 활용할 수 있게 되었다.

Analysis of KOMPSAT-5 Orbit for Radargrammetry (레이더 측량기법 적용을 위한 다목적실용위성 5호 궤도 분석)

  • KOMPSAT-5 will be launched in 2010 carrying a SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) system to obtain high resolution images of the earth surface regardless of weather or solar condition. In this paper, the orbits of KOMPSAT-5 and the imaging modes of SAR were analyzed for radargrammetry, and the best image pairs were suggested. We set the pass number from the nearest orbit to a given ground point and selected image pairs for radargrarnmetry, with height sensitivity of parallax higher than 0.5 to achieve enough height resolution and with the value lower than 0.8 to avoid errors from geometric distortion. On the equator, for example, where the distance between two adjacent passes is fixed to 95 km, we solved the orbit geometry and found that the image pairs with the pass numbers of 3-2 and 5-3 are suitable for radargrarnmetry. As the examples with arbitrary latitude, we selected Daejeon and Sejong Antarctic stations and calculated the orbital elements by using STK software. Three image pairs (5-4, 7-5 and 8-5) were found suitable for radargrammetry at Daejeon while 10 pairs (8-6, 9-7, 10-7, 11-8, 12-8, 13-9, 14-9, 15-9, 15-10 and 15-11) at Sejong Antarctic station.

  • Noh Jungrye(盧重禮) can be cited as an representative royal doctor of early Chosun dynasty. He collaborated in the development of korean medicine out of the influence of chinese medicine. He made an systematical approach on supply and propagation of The Native Herb Medicine(鄕藥) which promoted the independence of Korean medicine. The edition of "HyangYakJibSungBang(鄕藥集成方)"(Compendium of Prescriptions from the Countryside) was the result of this effort establishing the originality of Korean medicine. He also strengthened in the medical support new born child editing "TaeSanYoRok(胎産要錄)" as their mortal rate was high in that time. In social-political aspect, being appointed in Dangsanggwan(堂上官) as a doctor, was controversial as even after his death this discussion kept on. On the other hand this designation prompt other doctors to devote in Korean medicine.

  • 화행 분석이란 자연언어로 된 발화를 통해서 나타나는 화자의 의도를 인식하는 것으로 대화를 처리하는 여러 응용 분야에서 중요하게 요구되는 과정이다. 기존의 연구에서는 이전 발화의 화행과 현재 발화의 문장 자질을 사용하여 규칙 기반 및 통계 기반의 연구가 진행되었다. 하지만 본 논문에서는 현재 발화 이후의 후보 화행을 추정하여 이를 현재 발화의 화행을 결정하는데 사용함으로써 기존의 연구와 차별화를 두었으며, 실제로 기존 방법보다 약 4%의 성능향상을 보인 96.08%의 정확도(accuracy)를 보였다. 또한 이전 발화의 화행 정보 대신 이전 화행을 결정하는데 사용했던 문장 자질을 현재 발화의 화행 결정에 직접 사용함으로써 실제 이전 화행을 적용했을 때보다 향상된 성능을 가져왔으며, 이전 문장 자질과 후보 화행을 함께 사용하여 화행을 결정했을 경우 96.96%의 정확도를 보였다.

  • 구분분석은 문장을 분석하여 문장의 구문 구조를 밝히는 작업으로, 문장이 길어질수록 문장의 중의성이 높아져 구문분석 복잡도를 증사시키고 성능이 떨어진다. 구문분석의 복잡도를 감소시키기 위한 방법 중 하나로 구묶음을 하는데 본 논문에서는 하나의 명사처럼 쓰일 수 있는 둘 이상의 연속된 명사, 대명사, 수사, 숫자와 이를 수식하는 관형사, 접두사 및 접미사를 묶어서 복합명사 상당어구라고 정의하고 복합명사 상당어구 인식 시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문은 복합명사 상당어구 인식을 기계학습을 이용한 태그 부착 문제로 간주하였다. 문장 내 띄어쓰기, 어절의 어휘 정보, 어절 내 형태소들의 품사 정보와 품사-어휘 정보를 함께 자질로 사용하였다. 실험을 위하여 세종 구문분석 말뭉치 7만여 문장을 학습과 평가에 사용했으며, 실험결과는 95.97%의 정확률과 95.11%의 재현율, 95.54%의 $F_1$-평가치를 보였고, 구문분석의 전처리로써 사용하였을 때 구문분석의 성능과 속도가 향상됨을 보였다.

Korean Unknown-noun Recognition using Strings Following Nouns in Words (명사후문자열을 이용한 미등록어 인식)

  • Unknown nouns which are not in a dictionary make problems not only morphological analysis but also almost all natural language processing area. This paper describes a recognition method for Korean unknown nouns using strings following nouns such as postposition, suffix and postposition, suffix and eomi, etc. We collect and sort words including nouns from documents and divide a word including unknown noun into two parts, candidate noun and string following the noun, by finding same prefix morphemes from more than two unknown words. We use information of strings following nouns extracted from Sejong corpus and decide unknown noun finally. We obtain 99.64% precision and 99.46% recall for unknown nouns occurred more than two forms in news of two portal sites.

  • Many kinds of carbon emission monitoring systems or integrated systems have been developed so far. However, despite of the development of related techniques, they tend to be lack of statistic processing functions for feedback and policy-making data for users. In this study, a new CEMS (Carbon Emission Monitoring System) has been suggested and implemented in Sejong City, Korea. This system adapted automatic remote reading system from the site management agency as data hub to collect the electricity, gas and water usage of each household. The CEMS is consisted of 6 parts; carbon emission measurement, carbon emission standard setup and management, statistic analysis and the incentives. CEMS is distinguished with other systems for its UIs for users and the administrators. Also, data sharing with urban information system(UIS) of local government to produce information for users and policy-makers. This system makes it possible to investigate the change of energy consumption patterns, especially depending on the family structure and the housing characteristics. Furthermore, analyzing their correlation with carbon emission, it is expected to provide basic data used to establish urban environmental policies.

Disambiguation of Homograph Suffixes using Lexical Semantic Network(U-WIN) (어휘의미망(U-WIN)을 이용한 동형이의어 접미사의 의미 중의성 해소)

  • In order to process the suffix derived nouns of Korean, most of Korean processing systems have been registering the suffix derived nouns in dictionary. However, this approach is limited because the suffix is very high productive. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze semantically the unregistered suffix derived nouns. In this paper, we propose a method to disambiguate homograph suffixes using Korean lexical semantic network(U-WIN) for the purpose of semantic analysis of the suffix derived nouns. 33,104 suffix derived nouns including the homograph suffixes in the morphological and semantic tagged Sejong Corpus were used for experiments. For the experiments first of all we semantically tagged the homograph suffixes and extracted root of the suffix derived nouns and mapped the root to nodes in the U-WIN. And we assigned the distance weight to the nodes in U-WIN that could combine with each homograph suffix and we used the distance weight for disambiguating the homograph suffixes. The experiments for 35 homograph suffixes occurred in the Sejong corpus among 49 homograph suffixes in a Korean dictionary result in 91.01% accuracy.
