A Study on the Visual Sensibility of Clothing Texture (의복재질의 시각적 감성연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to objectively explain the visual sensibility of clothing torture that satisfies the consumer's sensibility. The photo stimuli on clothing texture are divided into hard, soft transparent and brilliant. For the study of image 38 kinds of costume samples is used. The Study was measured by using Semantic Differential method. The subjects were 410 females in twenties. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, ANOVA, MDS and regression analysis. Data were analyzed by SPSS. The major findings of this research were as follows: 1. As a result of the factor analysis,5 factors of visual sensibility were consist of high qualities, touches, looks, lightness, and warmness or coolness.2. There were significant difference in visual sensibility based on classification of clothing texture.3. The clothing texture was classified as thin-full, flat-lumpy. 4. As a result of the regression analysis, preferences of consumers can be connected directly with buying behavior and satisfaction can be closely related with preferences and positive buying behavior.

Analysis and Design of Planar Textile Resonator for Wearable Magnetic Resonance-Wireless Power Transfer (의복용 자기공진형 무선전력전송 시스템을 위한 평면형 직물공진기의 설계 및 연구)

  • In this paper, we proposed the planar textile resonator for constructing wearable MR-WPT system and analyzed the characteristic of textile substrates used in resonators. The planar textile resonators were designed to resonate at 1-10 MHz. The loop and coil were fabricated planar structure on textile substrate using conductive materials. Polyester fiber and cotton widely used in real life were chosen as textile resonators for wearable applications and copper tape and silver paste were used for fabricating planar loop and coil on textile substrate. For comparison analysis on transfer efficiency according to the types of textile, transmitter and receiver parts were symmetric. According to the result, for the highest transfer efficiency of wearable WPT system, the planar resonators have specifications of relative thick textile substrate with low permittivity and low surface resistance of conductive pattern. The performed experiments show that the planar textile resonator is possible to be used for resonator in wearable MR-WPT system.

Scientific Investigation of the Clothes Collected at Comfort Station in Nara, Japan (일본 나라현 위안소 수습 의복 조사 및 과학적 분석)

  • The aim of this study was to obtain information about two early-20th Century clothes, for which the "National Memorial Museum of Forced Mobilization under Japanese Occupation" has sought to receive preservation treatment. Optical microscopes and a scanning electron microscope were used to investigate the weaving of the clothes, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR) was used to investigate the fibers. Cloth A is believed to be a Japanese half sleeved inner wear(Hanjuban) used by women. Cloth B is believed to be working clothing that was checked by an Osaka plant. This was verified by a book written by the Japanese army. Both of the clothes were made mostly from cotton, although the inner wear also used viscose rayon on the neck collar. The button on the working wear was made of urea formaldehyde resin, an early precursor to plastic.

A new implicit integration method for simulation of low-damped cloth (적은 감쇠효과를 가지는 의복 시뮬레이션을 위한 새로운 암시적 적분법)

  • 본 연구는 적은 감쇠(damping) 효과를 가지면서도 안정적으로 의복의 움직임을 생성할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 방법을 제안한다. 최근 의복 시뮬레이션 분야에서는 뛰어난 수치적 안정성을 지닌 암시적 적분법(implicit integration)이 널리 이용되어 왔다. 그러나, 암시적 적분법은 선형화 과정에서 과도한 감쇠효과가 발생하고, 이 감쇠효과는 내부 변형 없는 회전이동 시에도 과도하게 나타나므로, 옷감의 회전 이동이나 주름의 자연스런 움직임을 크게 방해한다. 본 연구는 불필요한 감쇠효과를 줄이고 안정적으로 의복의 움직임을 표현할 수 있는 새로운 암시적 적분법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법용 선형화 과정에서 발생하는 내부 감쇠력을 회전이용이 아닌 순수한 내부 변형에 대해서만 발생하도록 모델링하며, 이렇게 계산된 내부 감쇠력을 역학식에 안정적으로 반영한다. 실험 결과는 제안하는 방법이 기존의 방법들에 비해 보다 다양한 재질의 옷감을 과도한 감쇠 효과 없어도 안정적으로 실시간에 생성할 수 있음을 보여주었다.

A Study on Material Analysis with Usability for Virtual Costume Hanbok in Digital Fashion Show (디지털 패션쇼를 위한 가상 한복 재질분석 및 사용성 연구)

  • This study seeks to propose the virtual costume's pipeline production in digital fashion show which is based on the unique characteristic combining computer graphic technology and traditional fashion design. This study analyzed the fabric materials based on Korean traditional costume to create a virtual Hanbok for the digital fashion show, and conducted the group of professional's satisfaction statistics through the experiment to verify the realistic usability. The contents of primary process of producing virtual Korean costume is analyzed by summarizing the thickness, weight, and color as the three essential fabric properties required for virtual Hanbok. In addition, virtual costumes are compared with real Hanbok based on the usability survey to evaluate the positive research result by forty graphic experts. The purpose of this study is to present the guideline of essential material analysis of the fabrication to digital fashion show in the virtual clothing production.

The Study on Desired Image and Fabric Preference of Woman College Student for Apparel (여자 대학생의 의복 추구 이미지와 소재 선호에 대한 연구)

  • This study was intended to identify the desired image and fabric preference of woman college student for apparel and the relationship between these variables. Data were collected by questionnaire distributed to 260 woman college students through August to September of 2000. After eliminating incomplete questionnaires, 236 were analyzed. The most desired image was neat, and the most preferred fabric was natural fiber textile in fiber contents and light and soft in fabric sensation. The avoided image was masculine, and the negative sensation was heaviness. As a result of factor analysis, 7 factors -cute, intellectual, animate, neat, mature, sporty, sexy- were determined in image. And 8 factors -soft, durable, flat, rigid, light, bulky, heavy, pliable- were determined in fabric sensation. These factors explained large percentage of variance respectively. Multidimensional scaling was employed to analyze the relationship between desired image and fabric preference. Two dimensions were accepted to interpret the relationship. One of the results showed the closeness among the natural fiber textile, lightness, durability and natural image. And the short distance among the blended textile, elasticity, warmness and sporty image was presented.

  • In the rapidly advancing modern world, Fashion Illustrations are being utilized in various aspects of art and industrial works. Fashion illustrations are especially useful in fields like trend books thats show advanced trends where photographs are difficult to be utilized due to the fact the real object does not exist. Both the academic and industrial worlds have realized the importance of Fashion illustration and have started to study the field as a way of expressing the general image of a costume rather than a diagram for making clothes. The focus of this study is on Fashion illustrations using Photo Montages that express modern fashion using various and unique textures. The study is composed of a literature review on Fashion illustration and Photo Montages. and five work pieces are made focusing on expressing compounded images.
