The Effects of Personal Value Orientation on the Purchasing Behavior of Natural Dyes (개인의 가치관에 따른 천연 염색제품 구매행동에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the different purchasing behaviors of natural dyes according to the personal value orientation of the consumers in question. In addition, this study sets out the purchasing behaviors according to demographic variables. To collect data, this study surveyed 150 housewives living in Daegu in November 2003 using convenient sampling. SPSS 10.0 was used for the statistical analysis of the sampled data including basic statistics, factor analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results derived from this study are as follows : 1) The group that exhibited a more self-controlled value orientation prefers to purchase natural dyes. 2) Consumers with relatively high education backgrounds and in an older age group have preference in purchasing natural dyes.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the online review writing motives of online shopping on repurchase intention and recommendation intention about fashion merchandise. The questionnaire was administered to 279 people who had experience in online shopping. The data were analyzed by utilizing factor analysis, multiple regression analysis and t-test. The results of this study were as follow. First, the online review writing motives were divided into three categories such as benefit pursuit/hedonic shopping value, information transmission and evaluation. Second, the consumer who has experience of writing review prefers to repurchase other products in that online shopping mall and to recommend those products more than the consumer who doesn't have that experience. Third, the benefit pursuit/hedonic and information transmission had an effect on repurchasing intention and recommendation intention.

Purchasing Behaviors of Fashion Products in CATV Home-Shopping (CATV홈쇼핑에서 패션제품의 구매행동에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study were to investigate the differences of shopping value, promotional affects and product characteristics between buyers and non-buyers, and to examine the most influenced variable on purchasing behaviors of fashion products in CATV home-shopping. We collected data from 595 consumers related to CATV home-shopping in Busan. Data were analyzed by factor analysis, t-test, ${\chi}^2$-test and discriminant analysis. Results showed that there are significant differences between buyers and non-buyers of shopping value demographic characteristics, promotional affects and product characteristics. Especially, shopping value perceived by consumers(e.g., practical value and hedonic value) and product characteristics(e.g., response of others) discriminated whether consumers purchased the fashion products of CATV home-shopping or not. We discussed the implications of results to encourage the purchasing behavior of fashion products in CATV home-shopping.

  • This study analyzes how the environmental values of fashion consumers influence the purchase satisfaction and repurchase intention of eco-friendly fashion products. The survey was conducted from June $1^{st}$ to $30^{th}$ in 2009, and 343 responses were used in the data analysis. The statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results show that the environmental values is classified by environment conservative value, economical value, social altruistic value, and egocentric value. The social altruistic value of fashion consumers affects purchase satisfaction of eco-friendly fashion products. The social altruistic value, environment conservative value, and egocentric value affect the repurchase intention of eco-friendly fashion products.

Apparel Purchase Behaviors of Korean and Chinese Consumers according to Internet Shopping Orientation (인터넷 쇼핑 성향에 따른 한국과 중국 소비자의 의류 제품 구매행동)

  • This study aims to examine impacts of the Internet shopping orientation of Korean and Chinese consumers on their selection criteria of shopping malls and apparel products, frequencies and amounts of purchase, and information search in the Internet shopping mall. A survey was carried out with Korean and Chinese female consumers in their 20s and 30s who have the Internet shopping experiences. The results of this study were as follows: First, the Internet shopping orientation of Korean and Chinese respondents clearly showed factorial structures including the pleasure-conscious, fashion-conscious, price-conscious, and convenience-conscious orientation. From a result of the cluster analysis on four factors of the Internet shopping orientation, Korean and Chinese respondents were classified into three groups of the Internet shopping-unconscious, the Internet shopping-loyalty, and pleasure convenience-conscious. Second, there were significant differences in selection criteria of both the Internet shopping mall and apparel products among three groups of the Internet shopping orientation in Korea and China. Third, significant differences were identified in visiting frequencies, apparel purchase frequencies and amounts, payment methods, and information sources during the Internet shopping among three groups of the Internet shopping orientation in Korea and China.

Differences between Purchasers and Non-purchasers of Naturally Dyed-products -Usages of Media, Media Programs, and Information Sources- (천연염색 제품 구매 고객의 매체 프로그램 및 정보원 이용 특성)

  • This study investigates the differences between purchasers and non-purchasers of naturally dyed-products in the hobby/leisure, media exposure, usage of media program type, and information sources about naturally dyed-products. Data were collected from a total 213 Korean females ranging from 20 to 59 years old, and in data analyses, there were partially significant differences between the two groups. Compared to non-purchasers of naturally dyed-products, Purchasers of those ones were more interested in traditional fields and nature. They are also more exposed to newspapers and less exposed to TV. Purchasers used more informational and educational programs as well as personal and commercial information sources (store visual presentations and sales persons) than non-purchasers. However, the differences between these two groups were not significant in the interests of fashion/cooking and sports, Internet exposure, entertainment programs and public/commercial information sources about naturally dyed-products. Marketers can use the results to access the market of naturally dyed-products for promotion.

  • The purpose of this research is to examine the images and interest degree and purchase intension of consumer and images according to demographic characteristics for Hanji clothing products. 207 subjects evaluated images for Hanji clothing and attitudes and behaviors of consumer were analysed. For statistical analysis, frequency analysis, factor analysis, mean, pearson correlation coefficients, regression, crosstabs and ANOVA were used. The results were as follows: Image factors of Hanji clothing products were 'luxurious', 'practical', 'wellbeing', and 'traditional'. differences of according to the age and occupation were showed at 'practical', 'wellbeing', and 'traditional' image. Hanji clothing products having highest consumer interest degree and purchase intention were shirts, scarf and handkerchief and Hanji clothing products having highest experience of use was socks. interest degree, experience of use, and purchase intention for Hanji clothing products were increased at high age, office worker. For consideration of Hanji clothing products according to demographics variables, age of 20's-30's and students considered design and functionality and age over 40's and office workers regarded price and quality as important consideration.

  • This study, the second in two part series, focuses on effect of product involvement and consumer knowledge on consumers' perceptions of six dimensions of clothing price: price -quality schema, prestige sensitivity: sale proneness, price mavenism, value consciousness, and price consciousness. Additionally, correlation between product involvement and consumer knowledge was examined. Multi-item measures of six dimensions of price, product involvement, and consumer knowledge were included in the questionnaires. The subjects were 264 college students living in Seoul, Korea. The data were collected by self-administered questionnaires and analyzed by factor analysis, regression analysis, and correlation analysis using SPSS PC. In addition, two focus group interviews were conducted to obtain qualitative data for the result interpretation. Results of this study showed that the degree of consumers' product involvement significantly affects consumers' perceptions of each price dimension except price consciousness dimension. Consumers' knowledge about clothing has a significant effect on consumers' perceptions of all price dimensions. Dimensions of product involvement and consumer knowledge were partially correlated. Marketing implications based on these results were suggested.

Clothing Purchase Behavior of Adolescents by the Consumer Awareness (청소년의 소비자 의식과 의복구매행동)

  • To investigate the consumer awareness and clothing purchase behavior of adolescents, questionnaire was administered to 639 middle and high school students in Daegu. The results were as follows. 1. The consumer awareness of adolescents was analyzed to 4 factors. consciousness of right. consumer information, brand-orientedness and responsibility. Respondents were clustered into three groups : utility-oriented group, brand-oriented group, and consumerism-oriented group. 2. Respondents bought their clothes at specialty stores primarily. They used ´products´, ´family's or friends advices´, and ´purchase experiences´ as information sources. The important criteria for selecting clothes were ´design´, ´price´, and ´suitability´ for oneself. Dissatisfactions after purchasing clothes were with ´price´, ´service´, ´sewing´, and ´size´. The complaining behaviors which respondents did mainly were ´telling friends about dissatisfaction with their purchased clothes´, ´asking for change dissatisfying products or asking for refund´ and ´asking for mending´. 3. Information sources were categorized into 3 factors: ´neutral information source´, ´personal information source´ and ´commercial information source´. Criteria for selecting clothes were factor-analyzed into ´harmony´, ´fashion´ and ´management of clothes´. ´The factors of dissatisfactions with purchased clothes were ´appearance´, ´quality´ and ´service´. 4. The differences by the consumer awareness in clothing purchase behaviors among consumer groups : In information sources. criteria for selecting clothes, complaining behaviors. purchasing places. three consumer groups were different significantly.

Evaluation of VMD Sensibility according to Purchasing Psychological Steps and Weights (구매심리의 단계와 가중치에 따른 VMD 감성평가 -의류브랜드를 중심으로-)

  • To improve VMD technology and suggest the comprehensive evaluation method for VMD, this study investigated and compared two methods of VMD evaluations; expert evaluation and questionnaire to consumers. We analyzed VMD factors of 4 stores with the same brand according to purchasing psychological steps of consumers at the purchasing point. The results are following: Customer Attraction and Purchase Stimulus by VMD showed higher scores in road shop than in department stores, while Put-on Imagination and Comparison Process by VMD showed higher scores in department stores than road shop. Visual Satisfaction and Shop Visit Satisfaction increased the purchasing desire of consumers. High-scored VMD shop evaluated by expert had high score in product purchasing intention of consumers. We found out that questionnaire method to consumers or their response is needed for evaluate VMD of shop in terms of analyze possibility of the related to their purchasing intention.
