• As the concept of well-being has become proliferated and an aging society has set in, there is a great demand for checking health condition of oneself as needed. Therefore, there is a growing interest in ubiquitous health systems all over the world, which can monitor health condition of oneself and transmit the monitoring results to the related medical institutes anytime anywhere. In this paper, some activities of ubiquitous health system developments all over the world are surveyed, and Medical Telematics project, one of ubiquitous health system projects being carried out currently in Daegu area, is introduced. The Medical Telematics project in Daegu area is carried out as one of RIS(Regional Innovation System) projects. An regional university, medical institutes, Technopark, and regional companies are organized into a consortium in order to construct a testbed for ubiquitous health industry in the future.

  • This research is studied for investigative purposes of preparation status for healthcare telematics service enforcement via making an analysis of understanding & expectation effect about healthcare telematics introduction. The study is investigated with two groups, professional medical persons (doctors, nurses, pharmacists) and medical demanders (customers), to analyze the recognition difference between two groups. Questions are carried in face to face interviews by using structured questionnaire & Delphi technique. The survey result shows medical demander's expectation level is higher than the other's at all items such as social changes, medical service provider, medical service users, national and government agencies, medical system suppliers.

  • IP-based Wireless Sensor Networks (IP-WSNs) are gaining importance for their broad range of applications in health-care, home automation, environmental monitoring, industrial control, vehicle telematics and agricultural monitoring. In all these applications, mobility in the sensor network with special attention to energy efficiency is a major issue to be addressed. Because of the energy inefficiency of networks-based mobility management protocols can be supported in IP-WSN. In this paper we propose a network based mobility supported IP-WSN protocol called Multicasting-based inter-Domain Mobility Management Scheme in Sensor-based Fast Proxy Mobile IPv6 Networks (mSFP). Based on [8,20], We present its network architecture and evaluate its performance by considering the signaling and mobility cost. Our analysis shows that the proposed scheme reduces the signaling cost, total cost, and mobility cost. With respect to the number of IP-WSN nodes, the proposed scheme reduces the signaling cost by 7% and the total cost by 3%. With respect to the number of hops, the proposed scheme reduces the signaling cost by 6.9%, the total cost by 2.5%, and the mobility cost by 1.5%. With respect to the number of IP-WSN nodes, the proposed scheme reduces the mobility cost by 1.6%.
