According to the recent research results of the Ministry of Environment, the indoor air quality of large general hospitals and university hospitals(58 hospitals) exceeded the maintenance standard. On top of such indoor air quality, it is also desperately required to have the environment-friendly building design and also low carbon green design in accordance with the increase of hospital size and enlarged hospital buildings. Especially, the increase of carbon dioxide, heat, garbage, waste energy, exhaust heat from power plants and sewage heat in each medical center brings up lots of problems to the health of hospital patients and customers. Thus this study aims to convergently develop the green environment-friendly architecture design technology concerning the organic relations between each medical building, and technical development which should be introduced to the low carbon green environment-friendly architecture design based on the characteristics of each medical center in large-scale medical complex.

The purpose of this thesis is to lay groundwork for the development of emergency care system in metropolitan area. It compares the performance and outcome of the current system with foreign counterparts and investigates the changing aspects of future medical environment. Emergency medical system can be divided into two parts of both pre-hospital care, which refers to the emergency measures taken before arriving at a hospital, and hospital care that is given within a hospital. Pre-hospital care includes on-the-spot expedients, information system and delivery system, whereas hospital care is related to the classification and specialization of medical care facilities. This research focuses on the evaluation of the performance of a rescue party, which is part of pre-historical care system. As a result, it provides valuable material for the development of the emergency medical system in Seoul.

This study aims to present the re-structuring strategies of healthcare facilities in Kwang-ju and Jon-nam province for it's competition power in the emerging global health care market. Kwang-Ju city and Jon-nam province have had difficulties in building a balanced healthcare system because of rapidly declining population, weakened healthcare infra-structure and geographical problems of healthcare supply by numerous islands. Now, Kwang-Ju city and Jon-nam province try to be a core place of economy and culture in the west-south asia. To do so, it is fundamentally necessary to reform their current social structure including healthcare system in large scale. This Study presents the current conditions and the problems of healthcare environment in these areas.

This study will perform the theoretical study of totally dependent elderly facilities- nursing homes, through the characteristics about nursing units and rehabilitative spaces. It will be started from the perception that the highest priority is to derive the ideal design guidelines on nursing units and rehabilitative spaces of nursing homes in Korea. This study aims to represent architectural idea and the examination of typological differences of nursing units and rehabilitative spaces among nursing home plans.
