  • Cohesion refers to the degree of the relatedness of the elements in a module, and it is widely accepted that the module of higher cohesion is easier to understand, maintain, and reuse. Recently, several cohesion metrics have been proposed to measure the cohesiveness of classes in an object-oriented program. However, the existing cohesion metrics do not consider the characteristics of dependent instance variables that are commonly used in a class and, thus, do not properly reflect the cohesiveness of the class. This paper presents an approach for improving the cohesion metrics by considering the characteristics of the dependent instance variables in an object-oriented program. To demonstrate the importance of the dependent instance variables, a case study has been conducted on a class library.

  • Water shortages are gradually accelerating because higher standards of living are required and water resources are more heavily utilized. Therefore, effective water treatment is necessary in order to retain the required qualify and amount of water. General treatment includes coagulation, flocculation, filtering, and disinfection. coagulation, flocculation, and disinfection are major components of water treatment processes. In this paper, a new automatic decision algorithm is proposed for coagulation. The proposed method shows how to determine the coagulant type and amount using data mining techniques.

  • An assessment of flocculation was performed by measuring the distribution of the floc size during sedimentation in water works. The size and number of flocs have a greater effect on an evaluation of the efficiency of flocculation rather than the turbidity. The data was collected in situ using particle image velocimetry and image analysis. The measurements were carried out at a water depth of 1m. The removal efficiency of the total organic compounds, UV absorbance and turbidity depended on the size and floc size distribution in flocculation as the G value. The G value of 50 sec-1, 30 sec-1 and 10 sec-1 showed the highest degree of efficiency in the case of an inlet water turbidity of 5 NTU, and the highest degree of efficiency was observed at a G value of 65 sec-1, 40 sec-1 and 10 sec-1 when the inlet water turbidity was 263 NTU. The number of flocs with a distribution of above $1,200{\mu}m$ was 14. The dynamics between two important growth mechanisms were investigated as the energy input changed. This is a certain method that makes use of the size and number of flocs as an efficiency assessment.

  • Sedimentation characteristics such as SS, COD removal efficiency of wastewater in the toilet paper mill using recycled paper were examined by zeta potential. Optimum dosage of coagulant were determined by turbidity, SS, COD and then equation for treatment efficiency was suggested. Mechanical strength of floc was determined by turbidity.

  • In coagulant control of water treatment plants, rule extraction, one of datamining categories, was performed for coagulant control of a water treatment plant. Clustering methods were applied to extract control rules from data. These control rules can be used for fully automation of water treatment plants instead of operator's knowledge for plant control. To perform fuzzy clustering, there are some coefficients to be determined and these kinds of studies have been performed over decades such as clustering indices. In this study, statistical indices were taken to calculate the number of clusters. Simultaneously, seed points were found out based on hierarchical clustering. These statistical approaches give information about features of clusters, so it can reduce computing cost and increase accuracy of clustering. The proposed algorithm can play an important role in datamining and knowledge discovery.

  • This study a Empirical research to examine the relationships among Coaching leadership, Directive leadership, Self-Efficacy and Cohesion, On the focus of Marine Corps Soldiers. The data was collected from 370 Soldiers located at Pohang, January 18 to 25, 2016. Descriptive statistics, frequency, t-test, ANOVA, scheffe test, and Pearson correlation analysis were performed using SPSS/WIN 22.0 program. In Cohesiveness, there were significants differences in Age, Branch of Service and Rank. As the result of Pearson' correlation, the relationships between leadership style, Self-efficacy and Cohesion were positive significants. The implications of these findings for effective leradership of Platoon Leader and future research on develop leradership program and curriculum were then discussed.
