Estimation of Dynamic Response of Advanced Composite Material Decks for Bridges Application under Various Vehicle Driving Velocities (복합재료 교량 바닥판의 주행속도에 따른 동적응답 평가)

  • Applications of advanced composite material in construction field are tending upwards and development of all composite material bridges is making progress rapidly in home and abroad due to their high strength to weight ratio. This paper formulated the dynamic responses of the laminated composite structures subjected to moving load and analyzed the various dynamic behaviors using the finite element method. The nondimensionalized natural frequencies of a simply supported square-laminated composite plate are considered for verifications. Mode superposition and Newmark direct integration method are applied for moving load analysis. For structural models, dynamic magnification factor calculated for various velocities of the moving load and displacements characteristics of laminated composite structures due to the moving load are investigated theoretically Numerical results are presented to study the effects of lamination scheme, stacking sequence, and fiber angle for laminated composite structures during moving load. The various results on moving load and lamination through numerical analysis will present an important basic data for development and grasp the behavior of all composite material bridges.

  • 본 연구에서는 반연성해석(Semi-coupling analysis) 즉 음향 응답이 구조와 음향 시스템의 모달 계수로 표현되는 방법과 구조-음향 연성계수를 이용한 소음저감의 예를 제시한다. 이전까지의 연성해석에서는 해석의 신뢰성을 위 하여 실험에서 구한 구조 모우드를 사용하였다. 그러나 설계단계에서 차실소 음을 예측하고 설계변경의 자료를 제시하기 위해서는 유한요소법을 이용한 예측이 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 부분 구조 합성법, 주요 결합부에 상세 유한요소 모델의 정적해석등에 의한 등가모델링 기법, 감도해석을 이용한 결 합부 모델링기법을 이용한 유한요소법 구조모우드해석과 그 결과를 이용한 연성해석의 결과를 보여준다.

Study on the Seismic response Spectra of a Structure Built on the Deep Soil Layers Classified in UBC-97 (UBC-97에 분류된 깊은 지반위에 세워진 구조물의 지진응답 스펙트럽에 관한 연구)

  • 구조물-지반 상호작용에서 알려진 것처럼 구조물 지진응답은 구조물하부 지반조거에 따라 영향을 받는데 UBC-97을 포함한 여러내진설계규준에서 지반사태 영향을 반영하고 있다 이 연구에서는 기초크기 기초밑 지반깊이, 입력지진 작용점 및 기초 근입깊이 등의 영향을 살펴보고 깊은 지반 위에 세워진 구조물의 평균응답스펙트럼을 UBC-97 탄성응답스펙트럼과 비교하기 위해 구조물-지반 상호작용을 고려한 지진해석을 가상 3차원 유한요소법과 부구조물법을 이용하여 1952년 Taft와 1940년 El Centro 지진기록을 주파수영역에서 수행하였다 연구결과에 의하면 기초크기는 구조물 응답에 별 영향이 없고 기초저면 지반깊이는 구조물체계의 고유주기와 최대가속도를 변경시켰다 또 입력지진의 합리적 작용점은 기초저면이라는 것이 확인되었으며 깊은 지반위에 놓인 기초의 근입은 저주기영역에서 구조물 응답을 상당히 줄어들게 하였다 한편 30m 깊은 지반위에 세워진 구조물의 평균가속도와 UBC-97 가속도를 비교한 결과 UBC-97 탄성응답스펙트럼에 의한 구조물 내진설계가 안전하지 못할 수도 있으므로 UBC-97 지진계수의 할증이 필요하다.

A Study on the Ductility of Concrete-Filled Composite Columns under Cyclic Loading (반복하중을 받는 콘크리트충전 강합성 기둥의 연성에 관한 연구)

  • A series of test on concrete-filled composite columns was preformed to evaluate structural performance under axial compression and cyclic lateral loading. It was presented that concrete-filled composite columns had high strength, high stiffness and large energy-absorption capacity on account of mutual confinement between the steel plate and filled-in concrete. A cross section analysis procedure developed to predict the moment-curvature relation of composite columns was proven to be on accurate and effective method. The ductility factor and the response modification factor were evaluated for the seismic design of concrete-filled composite columns. It was shown that concrete-filled composite columns could be used as a very efficient earthquake-resistant structural member.

  • In this paper a frequency response analysis using Krylov subspace-based model reduction and its design sensitivity analysis with respect to design variables are presented. Since the frequency response and its design sensitivity information are necessary for a gradient-based optimization, problems of high computational cost and resource may occur in the case that frequency response of a large sized finite element model is involved in the optimization iterations. In the suggested method model order reduction of finite element models are used to calculate both frequency response and frequency response sensitivity, therefore one can maximize the speed of numerical computation for the frequency response and its design sensitivity. As numerical examples, a semi-monocoque shell and an array-type $4{\times}4$ MEMS resonator are adopted to show the accuracy and efficiency of the suggested approach in calculating the FRF and its design sensitivity. The frequency response sensitivity through the model reduction shows a great time reduction in numerical computation and a good agreement with that from the initial full finite element model.

  • A simple method for determining the absorption coefficient of oxyhemoglobin and deoxyhemoglobin in human blood is proposed as an application of the complex propagation constant of a guided wave in a thin-film optical waveguide. A serial multichannel sample chamber is constructed on the waveguide to vary the interaction length between the evanescent field and the sample, and the dependence of the sensor response on the interaction length is investigated for the various concentration of two hemoglobins. The sensor response is linearly proportional to the interaction length and the concentration of two hemoglobins. The attenuation constant due to the evanescent field absorption between the samples is experimentally obtained with the designed sensor, and then the absorption coefficient is determined by the proposed method. The absorption coefficients determined by the proposed method fairly well coincided with those obtained by the conventional transmission measurement.

Dynamic response analysis of vertical pumps (입형펌프의 동적 응답해석)

  • It is important in design of vertical pumps to consider external excitation in addition to rotor vibration due to unbalance. In this study, a model of a vertical pump was developed for the analysis of its dynamic response. The vertical pump was modeled with lumped masses and springs which represent multi-cylindrical and rotor structure. A dynamic simulation program was developed and numerical calculation on the above mentioned problems were carried out.

  • This paper deals with the analytic and FEM analyses of sloshing frequency response of incompressible, invicid and irrotational flow in two dimensional rectangular tank. We use Laplace equation based on potential theory as governing equation. For small amplitude sloshing motion, the linearized free surface condition was applied and the analytic solution as obtained by the separation of variables. To simulate the effect of the energy dissipation due to viscous damping, artificial viscous coefficient is introduced and the divergence of response at resonance frequencies may be avoided by this coefficient. This problem was solved by FEM using 9-node elements in order to predict the maximum amplitude of sloshing response. Numerical results of free surface height, fluid pressure and fluid force show good agreement with those by analytic solution. After verifying the test FEM program, we analyze the frequency response characteristics of sloshing to the fluid height.

Design of Friction Dampers installed at a Multi-Story Building under Seismic Load (지진하중을 받는 다층 건물에 설치된 마찰감쇠기 설계)

  • In this study, a simplified design procedure for friction dampers of a multi-story structure in order to reduce seismic response is proposed. To get insight for control effect of the structure with friction dampers is difficult, because of a nonlinear characteristic by a friction damper. Since a control force of a friction damper is influenced by coupling velocity between floors, adjoining modes are coupled. Thus structural response are derived by assuming steady-state response in resonance. As it is impossible that an exact solution is obtained for seismic load, first, a closed form solution can be achieved under harmonic vibration. Second, to convert a three-story building into a single-degree-of-freedom(SDOF) structure, modal analysis is performed. Third, an equivalent damping ratio is derived with utilizing closed form solution. And response reducing factor is proposed by it. Finally, friction force of a damper is designed for using response reducing factor, and then designed dampers are verified for seven seismic data. The nonlinear analysis results confirm the validity of the proposed procedure.

  • 교량(橋梁)의 동적응답(動的應答)을 파악하기 위해서는 노면(路面)조도에 의해 영향을 받는 차량의 거동 파악이 중요하게 된다. 최근, 교량의 상판(床版)등에서 발생되는 피로(疲勞)의 영향에 대한 관심이 고조되어 서서히 교통진동의 3차원 모델링에 대한 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 교량에 발생되는 교통진동(交通振動)의 영향을 좀더 정확히 표현하기 위하여 3차원 해석 방법을 제시한다. 해석방법으로 유한 요소법이 이용되었고, 차량 모델링은 하나의 전축(煎軸)과 두 개의 후축(後軸)을 갖는 8자유도계(自由度系) 차량 모델을 이용하여 수치 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 동적(動的) 연립미분방정식(聯立微分方程式)의 해법에서는 Newmark-${\beta}$법(法)을 이용하였고, 가상 노면요철(凹凸)모델링에서는 정상불규칙과정(定常不規則過程)으로 가정하여 노면 요철(凹凸)을 생성하여 시뮬레이션에 사용하였다. 또한 실제 차량 및 교량에서의 실측치와 비교하여 모델의 검증을 수행하였다.
