[Healing Camp], Appearance of Sound Narrative and it's Implication (<힐링캠프>, 사운드적 서사의 등장과 그 함의)

  • SBS [Healing Camp] seems like having a different sound usage from other entertainment programs. After content analysis, I found that [Healing Camp] uses much more music & sound effects than [Muhandojeon]. Music & sound effects of [Healing Camp] has functions of tautological informing, uplush of emotion or Ancrage, narrating or Relais. It is very similar to television subtitle. Positive uses of music & sound effects are expected to catch the attention of audience and to increase the ratings. But [Healing Camp] uses music & sound effects very positively and systematically and opens a new dimension of narratives.

  • Acoustic behavior in combustion chamber with acoustic cavity is numerically investigated by adopting linear acoustic analysis. Helmholtz-type resonator is employed as a cavity model to suppress acoustic instability. The tuning frequency of acoustic cavity is adjusted by varying the sound speed in acoustic cavity. Acoustic pressure responses of chamber to acoustic oscillating excitation are shown md acoustic damping effect of acoustic cavity is quantified by damping factor. As the tuning frequency approaches the target frequency of the resonant mode, mode split from the original resonant mode to lower and upper modes appears and thereby damping effect is degraded. Considering mode split and damping effect as a function of tuning frequency, it is desirable to make acoustic cavity tuned to maximum frequency of those of the possible splitted upper modes.

  • Acoustic cavity as a stabilization device to control high-frequency combustion instabilities in liquid rocket engine is adopted and its damping capacity is verified in atmospheric temperature. Geometric effects of acoustic cavity on damping characteristics are analyzed and compared quantitatively. Satisfactory agreements have been achieved with linear acoustic analysis and experimental approach. Results show that the acoustic cavity of the largest orifice area or the shortest orifice length was the most effective in acoustic damping of the harmful resonant frequency finally, it is proved that an optimal design process is indispensable for the effective control of combustion instabilities.

  • White noise 가 혼합된 음향은 듣는 사람에게 감성 조절 효과에 대한 보고가 있다. 그러나 White noise 의 어떤 요소가 감성을 조절하는지는 명확하지 않다. 본 연구는 White noise 와 음향을 혼합할 때 마스킹(Masking) 정도에 따른 이완 감성 변화를 밝혀보고자 하였다. White noise 의 마스킹 효과를 다르게 한 2 곡의 음악을 제작하고, 20 대 남녀 40 명을 대상으로 음악을 들려주는 실험을 실시하였다. 음악 효과에 대한 반응인 자율신경계(PPG, GSR, SKT)와 중추신경계(8ch EEG)의 생리신호를 측정하고 음악을 듣기 전후의 주관적 응답을 수집하였다. 음악을 듣지 않았을 때, 원본 음향 들었을 때 그리고 White noise 혼합한 음향을 들었을 때의 반응에 대해 ANOVA(Analysis of Variance)를 실시하였다. 생리신호는 개인간 편차를 고려해 평준화(Normalization) 한 뒤 생리신호 변화 패턴에 따라 분석하였다. 결과적으로, 주관적 응답과 생리신호 모두 White noise 의 마스킹 효과를 작게한 음향에서 이완의 정도가 더 큰 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 White noise 와 원본 음향간에 마스킹 효과가 작은 음향일수록 White noise 의 혼합으로 인한 이완효과가 큰 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구는 터치 인터페이스를 이용하여 음향 효과 재생 시스템을 개발하였다. 터치 인터페이스를 통하여 손의 위치를 인식하고, 해당 위치에 가상의 공을 생성한다. 움직임을 통하여 시각적 피드백과 음향 효과를 발생시킨다. 사용자는 오브젝트의 크기와 위치를 조정하여 창조적인 음향 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 따라서 본 시스템은 터치 인터페이스를 이용하여 사용자와 시 청각적 상호작용을 할 수 있는 인터페이스를 제안한다.

First, harmful resonant frequency in a modeling chamber can be damped effectively by the installation of properly-tuned acoustic cavity. Besides, geometric effects of acoustic cavity on damping characteristics are analyzed and compared quantitatively. Satisfactory agreements have been achieved with linear acoustic analysis and experimental approach. Results show that the acoustic cavity of the largest orifice area or the shortest orifice length was the most effective in acoustic damping of the harmful resonant frequency. Finally, it is proved that an optimal design process is indispensable for the effective control of combustion instabilities.

  • 최근 게임, 멀티미디어 콘텐츠, 가상현실 둥을 제공하는 멀티미디어 장치에서 2 개의 스피커나 헤드폰을 이용하여 3 차원 입체 음향효과를 내고자 하는 가상 입체음향 기법에 관한 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있다 가상 입체음향 기법 중 다채널 입체음향을 이용하여 입체음향효과를 가진 2 채널 출력을 구성하는 방식의 대표적인 것으로는 입체음향 정위효과를 내는 HRTF(Head Related Transfer Function)이 있다. 그러나 이 방법은 전달함수와 입력 신호의 컨볼루션(Convolution)방법을 이용함으로써 계산량이 복잡하여 실시간 구현에 많은 제약을 주고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다채널 입력으로 현재의 DVD, HDTV 등에서 사용되는 Dolby-Digital 복호화기를 사용하여 입체음향 시스템을 구현할 경우 가상입체음향 신호처리에 사용되는 HRTF 계수를 MDCT 계수로 구성하여 이를 통한 가상입체음향 신호처리방식의 계산량 감소방법에 대하여 설명하고 있다.

An Experimental Study on Effect of Half-Wave Resonator Position on Acoustic Damping in a Combustion Chamber (연소실내 공명기 장착 위치에 따른 음향갑쇠 효과에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Effect of radial position of half-wave resonator is investigated experimentally for acoustic damping in a combustion chamber by adopting acoustic cold test. Acoustic damping is quantified by damping factor. When resonator with optimal tuning length is installed, damping is enhanced as its radial location is away from the center of the faceplate. And, spatial profile of damping factor is similar to that of the amplitude of the acoustic mode to be damped. As the location is close to the center, acoustic damping is mitigated and independent of the resonator length. On the other hand, the resonator with non-optimal length dose not show any effects of its radial position. Acoustic-damping capacity can be evaluated as functions of resonator length and position.
