[Healing Camp], Appearance of Sound Narrative and it's Implication

SBS [Healing Camp] seems like having a different sound usage from other entertainment programs. After content analysis, I found that [Healing Camp] uses much more music & sound effects than [Muhandojeon]. Music & sound effects of [Healing Camp] has functions of tautological informing, uplush of emotion or Ancrage, narrating or Relais. It is very similar to television subtitle. Positive uses of music & sound effects are expected to catch the attention of audience and to increase the ratings. But [Healing Camp] uses music & sound effects very positively and systematically and opens a new dimension of narratives.

<힐링캠프>, 사운드적 서사의 등장과 그 함의

SBS <힐링캠프>의 배경음악과 음향효과는 다른 오락 프로그램과는 매우 차별적인 양상을 보인다는 점에 착목하여, 실제 프로그램에서 어떤 방식으로 작용하는 지 내용분석을 통해서 분석했다. 분석결과 <힐링캠프>는 다른 오락 프로그램과는 비교할 수 없을 만큼 많은 양을 사용한다는 것을 확인했다. 즉, 전체 텍스트에서 음악과 음향효과가 차지하는 비중이 상대적으로 크다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 <힐링캠프>의 배경음악과 음향효과는 동어반복적인 정보제공적 기능, 다양한 의미 중에 한 가지를 선택하여 강조하는 감정고조 혹은 정박의 기능, 텍스트에 나와 있지 않은 이야기를 풀어가는 서술 혹은 중계의 기능을 수행하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 텔레비전 자막이 수행하던 기능을 음악과 음향효과가 그대로 이어받고 있는 것이다. 물론 이러한 음악과 음향효과의 활용이 시청자의 관심을 끌고 주의를 집중시켜 시청률 상승의 효과를 가져올 것이라 예상되지만, 다른 오락프로그램과는 달리 매우 적극적이고 체계적인 활용을 통해서 오락프로그램 서사의 새로운 차원을 열어가고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.
