Effects of Drinking Water Temperature on Performance, Hormone Concentration and Blood Biochemical Composition of Laying Hens under High Temperature Conditions (혹서기 음용수의 온도가 산란계의 생산성, 호르몬농도 및 혈액성상에 미치는 영향)

  • An experiment was undertaken to investigate the effects of different drinking water temperature on performance, hormone concentration and blood composition of laying hens during hot-humid summer season (33℃ and 60%). A total of four hundred thirty two, fifty three age Hy-Line brown laying hens was used, divided into three treatments of eight replicates of twelve hens each (550 cm2/bird) until the end of the experiment fifty seven weeks. Treatments have consisted on at the set water temperature of 14.5, 24.0 and 32.5℃. Productive performances were evaluated by measuring egg production, egg weight, feed consumption, egg mass and feed conversion of eggs. At the end of trial, egg quality traits were measured, and the physiological performance determined by measuring some biochemical traits of blood and hormone concentration. Results of this study showed that egg production and daily egg mass were significantly (p<0.05) higher in 14.5℃ water treatment group but feed intake and egg weight did not differ statistically in between 14.5 and 24.0℃. Albumen height and haugh unit in eggs had not been affected by drinking different water temperature, while there was significant (p<0.05) increase of shell strength in 14.5 and 24.0℃ water temperature treatment group than 32.0℃ and shell thickness also was numerically increased in 14.5℃ without significance. Moreover, concentration of GH and IGF-I both serum and liver had significant (p<0.05) increase in the order of 32.5, 24.0 and 14.5℃ group, and serum corticosterone was significantly (p<0.05) decreased in drinking water of 14.5℃ treatment. Furthermore, serum AST and cholesterol were significantly (p<0.05) reduced in hens drunk 14.5℃ water compared with 24.0 and 32.5℃ water. HDL cholesterol, protein and glucose were not influenced by following water temperature, whereas lowest (p<0.05) natural fat was found in subject to 14.5℃ water treatment group. It could be concluded that during summer season especially under hot-humid period 14.5℃ drinking water temperature can improve the performance, egg quality and blood.

탄산수 음용이 돈육품질에 미치는 영향

  • 본 연구는 도축전 계류중인 돼지에게 탄산수를 급여함으로써 기대되는 스트레스 해소 극대화를 통한 육질개선효과를 조사하기 위해 실시되었다. 도축후 $30\;{\sim}\;1hr$ 에 걸쳐 조사된 $pH_{30-1}$ Value에서는 일반음용수 및 탄산수 음용구 모두 동일한 수치를 나타내었으나 24hr 경과한 $pH_u$에서는 탄산수 음용돈에서 다소 높게 나타나 완만한 pH감소 효과를 나타나주었다(p<0.05). 측정된 근육의 온도에서는 탄산수 음용구가 일반음용구보다 뚜렷이 낮게 나타나 유의성 있는 냉각 효과를 나타내었다(p<0.05). 보수력(WHC) 측정 결과에서는 탄산수 음용구가 다소 우수하게 나타났으나 유의성 있는 뚜렷한 차이는 보여주지 않았다 가열감량(Cooking loss)에서도 보수력과 같이 대조구 및 처리구의 유사한 경향을 보여주었으나 유의성 있는 차이는 보이지 않았다.

Development of air-conditioning and drinking water supply system using air-water heat pump (공기-물 히트펌프를 이용한 공조 및 음용수급수시스템 개발)

  • 지구 온난화에 따른 환경변화로 인하여 최근 10년('02~'11)간 여름의 일수는 4일, 겨울 일수는 16일 각각 증가하였다. 현재 육계사 내의 고밀도 밀집사육으로 인하여 고온스트레스로 하절기 육계의 폐사율이 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 2016년 폭염으로 닭 406.1천수, 오리 15.7천수, 메추리 70천수, 돼지 8천수가 폐사하였다. 이에 혹서기 가축이 약430만수가 폐사하였으며 피해 보상금액 128억원 소요되었다. 본 연구에서는 하절기 고온스트레스 경감과 폐사율 저감을 위해 계사 냉난방 공조와 냉온 음용수 급수를 병행할 수 있는 고효율 환경 개선 시스템을 개발하여 고온스트레스 저감 및 생산성 향상에 목적이 있다. 계사 냉난방 공조 및 냉온음용수 급수 병행 시스템 설계요인을 분석하고 냉난방 공조부하, 냉온수 생산 부하를 고려한 시스템 용량 산정하고 히트펌프, 축열조, 냉난방 및 냉온수 분배장치 등 구성요소로서 공조 및 냉온음용수 급수시스템을 설치하였다. 시스템 용량은 공기-물 히트펌프(10kW,1대), 축열조(10톤), 음용수조(2톤), 열교환기(열교환량,5만kcal/h), 물순환펌프(250W,2대) 및 팬코일유닛(1만kcal/h,4대)으로 시스템 모니터링 및 제어 시스템 개발하여 계사 내 환경, 시스템 성능에 대한 실시간 모니터링을 통하여 저장하였다. 조사항목으로 위치별 온습도, 체중, 사료섭취량, 페사율 등을 조사 분석하였다. 연구결과 계사의 내부온도는 시험구에서는 평균 $25.3^{\circ}C$를 나타내었고 대조구에서는 평균 $28.1^{\circ}C$로서 $2.8^{\circ}C$ 높게 나타났으나 상대습도는 시험구 76.2%, 대조구 75.0%로 큰 차이가 없었다. 냉수급여에 따른 계사 높이별 내부온도는 상하의 온도차가 $4.5^{\circ}C$로 크게 차이가 났다. 육계의 음수량은 혹서기 냉수를 급여한 시험구에서 일일 23.2L, 대조구에서는 21.5L를 섭취하였다. 일일 사료섭취량은 냉수를 급여한 시험구에서 937g, 대조구에서는 725g을 섭취하였다. 사료섭취량은 냉수를 급여한 시험구가 212g 많이 섭취하였으며 사료요구율은 시험구는 1.86, 대조구는 1.91로서 시험구가 낮게 나타났다. 체중은 냉수를 급여한 시험구가 359g 많았으며 증체량은 냉수를 급여한 시험구에서 495g, 대조구에서는 392g으로 나타났다. 폐사율은 냉수를 급여한 시험구에서 84%가 폐사율을 줄일 수 있었다.

Study on the Utilization of Drinking Water Supply System of Air-water Heat Pumps Applicable to Laying Hen (산란계에 적용 가능한 공기-물 히트펌프의 음용수 공급시스템 이용기술에 관한 연구)

  • The drinking water supply system applicable to the laying hen consists of air-water heat pumps, drinking water tanks, heat stroage tank, circulation pumps, PE pipes, nipples, and control panels. When the heat pump system has power of 7.7 to 8.7 kW per hour, the performance coefficient is between 3.1 and 3.5. The supply temperature from the heat pump to the heat stroage tank was stabilized at about $12{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, but the return temperature showed a variation of from 8 to $14^{\circ}C$. Stratified temperature in the storage tank appeared at $12.^{\circ}C$, $13.5^{\circ}C$ and $14.4^{\circ}C$, respectively. The drinking water supply temperature remained set at $15^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$, and the conventional tap water showed a variation for $23^{\circ}C$ to $30^{\circ}C$. As chickens grow older, the amount of food intake and drinking water increased. $y=-0.0563x^2+4.7383x+8.743$, $R^2=0.98$ and the feed intake showed $y=-0.1013x^2+8.5611x$. In the future, further studies will need to figure out the cooling effect on heat stress of livestock.

Cavern Environment in Uro Cave (우로굴의 동굴환경)

  • Uro cave is a livestone cave formed at the Cambrian period. Uro cave is situated in Urosil, HogyeMyen, Moonkyunssi, HyungBok province. The temperature of the Uro cave is about 12~$15^{\circ}C$, humidity 90~95%, pH 7~8, Water temperature 12~$15^{\circ}C$, Carbon dioxide 500~900ppmv, hardness 110mg/$\ell$ in Conclusion, Uro cave does not have values of topography, environment, and tourism resource.

Suppressing Effect of Medicinal Plants on the Intestinal Absorption of Heavy Metals (생약재에 의한 중금속의 체내흡수 억제 효과)

  • This research was attempted to prove suppressing effect of medicinal plants on the intestinal absorption of toxic heavy metals. In vitro study was performed by membrane filtration considering intestinal absorption conditions. From drinking water contaminated singly with 10 and 50 times level of water quality standard for heavy metals, the removal ratio of lead was $40{\sim}60%$ by Chicorium intybus, Angelica acutiloba and Ganoderma lucidium. And the removal ratio of cadmium was $20{\sim}40%$. The removal ratio of lead contaminated with both was $30{\sim}50%$ by every sample similarly, the removal ratio of cadmium was $10{\sim}30%$. The removal ratio of Angelica acutiloba was more higher than Chicorium intybus and Ganoderma lucidium. Considering the extraction conditions of samples, $70^{\circ}C$, 2 min conditions were higher than $95^{\circ}C$, 10 min conditions, the removal ratios of heavy metals were similar. And the membrane filter permeated the material under 500 mw selectively, so the final filtrate could regard as passive transport in intestinal absorption. In conclusion, this research exhibited that the medicinal plants beverages have a suppressing effect on intestinal absorption of lead and cadmium in drinking water.

  • This study aims to design a portable desalination device and discusses the feasibility of the device for overcoming a shortage of safe drinking water. A low-energy, self-supporting, and portable desalination device is designed based on forward osmosis (FO) using an ammonium bicarbonate solution. Experiments with various concentrations of ammonium bicarbonate solution and sodium chloride solution showed that the portable desalination device's performance such as volume and flow rate of desalting water and time required satisfied drinking water standards. The device performance is controlled by varying the concentration and temperature of the solution.

  • Brewing tea with regular teapots can cause a problem in keeping the temperature of the tea. Cold weather, a cold teapot, and/or the temperature of tea leaves make tea cold, lowering the temperature of the tea leaves that can also make the flavor of the tea leaves worse. This experiment shows both the problem and the solution to the temperature problem of tea leaves. To maintain the appropriate temperature and reduce the problem, we researched and developed a special straw for tea leaves as a result of this experiment The straw consists of various filtering holes(diameter 1~2 mm) with the height of 5 mm from the very bottom of the straw. Using the straw is better to keep higher temperature, better flavor, and the smell of tea. Also, the sensory evaluation shows that the overall taste of tea is improved(p<0.05).

분리막공정에서 물질이동에 영향을 주는 요소들

  • 오늘날 막분리공정의 응용은 다른 분리공정에 비해 경제성과 편리성으로 비교우위에 있어 점차로 사용규모면에 있어서 증대되고 있다. 예를 들면, 바닷물을 음용수로 전환하거나 식품이나 의약공업에서 고분자화합물을 정제, 농축, 분리할 뿐만아니라 신장에서 불순물을 제거에 이르기까지 확대발전되어오고 있으며 화공약품의 분리회수, 초순수화나 환경산업의 폐수처리, 가스의 분리와 회수등의 응용에 이르기까지 쓰임새가 다양하며, 앞으로의 응용범위는 새로운 기능의 분리막개발과 함께 점점 확대되고 있다. 이와같은 막분리공정상 물질전달의 기본적특성인 추진력과 물리적인 성질의 중요성을 이해하는 것은 막분리공정을 설계제작하는데 필요하다. 막내에서 물질전달은 분리코져하는 물질의 확산, 전기장에의한 대류속도, 농도, 압력, 흡착 그리고 온도구배 등 물질이동현상을 조절하는 인자들 뿐만아니라 막의 물리적, 화학적 특성과 분리대상물질의 물리화학적 특성등에 의해 결정된다. 이러한 막내에서의 추진력들은 서로 상호 보완적이고 경우에 따라서는 새로운 효과를 나타낼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 추진력에 따른 막물질이동에 영향을 주는 요소들을 저자가 경험한 결과들을 토대로 총론형식으로 열거하였다.

Study on the Characteristics of Dalgi Mineral Water in Cheongsong (청송 달기약수의 수질특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study deals with the water qualities of Dalgi mineral spring in Cheongsong district.Water samples which were taken from upper, middle and bottorn spring sites were tested for twenty eight important water quality items including minerals, essential and/or toxic trace elements, and the analytical items to affect the taste of mineral water, seasonally from May 1999 to February 2000 The results obtained wereas follows:Each spring site showed much difference in major items. Bottom spring water showed higher value of Mg and Na than others. Middle spring water showed the highest value in all of the items except Mg and Na. The concentration of Hardness, Fe and Mn in mineral water were over than the normal standard for drinking water, but these items are not specified for the mineral water. As, Cd, $Cr^{6+}$ and Hg were not found and Pb was found ln trace level. All of the items proved nearly constant during the four seasons except water temperature. The contribution of mineral water to the nutrition of human was calculated in order to investigate the health effect of drinking water on the bases of Required Daily Allowance,one liter of water drinking and the mineral concentration of the bottom spring. The percentage of consumable minerals of Ca, Mg, Na, K, Mn,Zn and Fe were 35.05,36.43,5.88∼10.63,0.19∼0.57,21.86∼43.72,0.65, and 95.l respectively. This means Dalgl mineral water is pIenty of iron mineral. The K and O indexes of mineraI water appeared to be good for healthy and delicious water.
