This report shows the new music player's system which could separate music's tempo by analysis Peak level frequency by time from some percussion instruments. After this process, the new music player could classify some fast or slow genre's musics without a user's order, then we should listen to a fast or slow genre's music by a button.

본 논문에서는 음악 장르 분류를 위한 시간 및 주파수 기반 스파이크그램 특성 추출 기술을 제안한다. 기존의 음악 장르 분류 시스템에서는 푸리에 변환 기반의 입력 특성을 주로 사용해 왔다. 푸리에 변환은 시간 축에서 프레임 단위로 평균적인 주파수 정보를 취하므로 낮은 시간 해상도를 갖지만, 스파이크그램은 샘플 단위의 주파수 정보를 갖고 있어 고해상도의 특성을 추출할 수 있다. 제안하는 기술은 이러한 시간 기반 특성을 추출하여 주파수 기반 특성 및 SNR 특성과 함께 심층 신경망의 입력으로 사용한다. 제안하는 특성을 사용하여 시간 기반 특성을 사용하지 않은 기존 스파이크그램 특성 기반 분류기의 성능을 개선하였으며, 다른 특성 및 분류기에 비해 적은 수의 특성 입력으로도 우수한 성능을 얻는 것을 확인하였다.

본 논문에서는 19세기 이후 클래식음악에 영향을 미친 재즈음악과, 클래식음악이 어떤 방식으로 재즈라는 음악을 음악적 표현 도구로 사용했는지를 살펴보았다. 재즈는 현대 클래식음악에 즉흥성, 창의성, 독창성 등의 다양한 측면에서 영향을 주었다는 점이 두 음악 장르의 상호 영향을 살피는데 중요한 점이라고 할 수 있다.

Lee Ritenour and Larry Carlton were the most popular contemporary guitarists. So we can find they have something in common in many ways. Also their abundant experiences and know-how made their own music into Fusion Jazz. They always tried to make new approach specializing Fusion Jazz genre, which makes us realize that they are the front runners of Contemporary Jazz mixing music with the situation of the time. This paper analyzes harmonic parts and arranged parts these two guitarists show and studies the musical meaning and characteristics their representative albums have. Also this paper focuses on some developments and growth by examining the relationship between these two guitarists.

A main objective of audio equalizer is for user to tailor acoustic frequency response to increase sound comfort and example applications of audio equalizer includes large-scale audio system to portable audio such as mobile MP3 player. Up to now, all the audio equalizer requires manual setting to equalize frequency bands to create suitable sound quality for each genre of music. In this paper, we propose an intelligent audio graphic equalizer system that automatically classifies the music genre using music content analysis and then the music sound is boosted with the given frequency gains according to the classified musical genre when playback. In order to reproduce comfort sound, the musical genre is determined based on two-step hierarchical algorithm - coarse-level and fine-level classification. It can prevent annoying sound reproduction due to the sudden change of the equalizer gains at the beginning of the music playback. Each stage of the music classification experiments shows at least 80% of success with complete genre classification and equalizer operation within 2 sec. Simple S/W graphical user interface of 3-band automatic equalizer is implemented using visual C on personal computer.

This paper proposes a classifier of music genre using time delay neural network(TDNN) fur an audio data retrieval systems. The classifier considers eight kinds of genres such as Blues, Country, Hard Core, Hard Rock, Jazz, R&B(Soul), Techno and Trash Metal. The comparative unit to classify the genres is a melody between bars. The melody pattern is extracted based un snare drum sound which represents the periodicity of rhythm effectively. The classifier is constructed with the TDNN and uses fourier transformed feature vector of the melody as input pattern. We experimented the classifier on eighty training data from ten musics for each genres and forty test data from five musics for each genres, and obtained correct classification rates of 92.5% and 60%, respectively.

랩 음악은 장르 특성상 곡에서 가사의 중요성이 매우 크고, 가사 전달을 리듬 중심으로 하기 때문에 가사의 리듬, 운율이 부각된다. 랩 음악 가사의 내용과 운율에 대해 살펴보기 위해 지난 10년간 랩 음악 장르에서 전 세계적으로 가장 큰 인기를 얻고 있는 작사가 겸 가수Drake 와 Lil Wayne 의 곡 23곡을 선정하여 그 내용과 가사 운율을 살펴본다. 내용은 공통적으로 과시를 가장 많이 사용하였으며, 사랑, 유흥 등의 가사에서는 두 작사가의 차이를 보였다. 운율은 두 작사가 모두 규칙적 운율을 주로 사용하였으며, 그 안에 여러 가지 방법을 통해 불규칙성을 더했고, 그 방법을 사용하는 빈도가 다름으로서 운율 사용방식의 차이점을 보였다.

This study examines musical characteristics of so-called 'Hongdae Sound' as a historic musical trend by comparing with 'US 8^th Army Sound' and British 'London Punk'. Hongdae Sound refers to the musical trend that was formed with independent bands and musicians who mostly performed live in the club called 'Drug' in Hongdae area, and voluntarily adopted minor musical sensitivity and indie spirit of 'post-punk rock' genre. But as an industrial standpoint the superficial identity of 'indie' interferes with academic approach when analysing musical aspects of Hongdae Sound. Therefore it is necessary to rearrange its characteristics as the musical trend based on regional classification in order to fully appreciate its status in history of Korean popular music. US 8^th Army Sound refers to the musical trend that was played within the live stages in US military bases in Korea. Many hired Korean musicians for those shows were able to learn the current popular musical trend in the States, and to spread those to the general public outside the bases. The industrial system of the Army Sound was very similar to that of K-Pop, but when it comes to leading the newest musical trend of 'rock-n-roll', it had more resemblance to that of Hongdae Sound. London punk was the back-to-basic form of pure rock that was armed with social angst and rebel, indie spirit. Its primal motto was 'do-it-yourself', and Hongdae Sound mostly followed its industrial, musical and spiritual paths. London punk was short-lived because it abandoned its indie spirits and became absorbed to the mainstream. But Hongdae sound maintain its longevity by maintaining the spirit and truthfulness of indie, while endlessly experimenting with new trends.

Blues음악은 가장 오랜 세월 동안 가장 많은 장소에서 연주되는 음악장르로서 Jazz를 포함한 소위 실용음악분야 전반에 걸쳐 지대한 영향을 끼쳤다. 이토록 강력한 Blues음악의 생명력은 Bluenote에 기인한다 할 수 있으며 이러한 Bluenote와 Jazz음악의 상징이라 할 수 있는 Altered 스케일간의 연관성을 제시 함 으로서 Blues음악의 중요성을 재조명 하고자 한다.

본 논문은 웹 상에서 음악을 듣는 사용자의 음악 취향을 평가 한 후, 취향에 맞는 인터페이스를 추천하는 시스템을 구현하였다. 초기 음악 취향 평가 단계에서는 평가 요소인 장르, 가수, 최신곡에 대한 사용자 데이터와 평가 요소에 대한 실험을 통해 얻은 중요도를 이용하여 퍼지측도.적분을 수행한다. 수행 결과 값이 높은 음악의 평가 요소에 의해 인터페이스를 추천하고, 추천된 인터페이스에 대한 선택 곡 수와 들은 시간으로 퍼지 추론을 통해 인터페이스에 대한 만족도를 평가한다. 평가된 만족도에 의해 중요도를 변경시킴으로써 사용자의 취향에 맞는 인터페이스를 제공하는 시스템 을 제안한다.
