Purpose: 본 연구는 토끼의 음경해면체 조직에 대한 인진쑥의 에탄올 추출물과 그 성분 중의 하나인 scoparone의 효능을 평가하고자 하였다. Methods: 체중이 2.5-3.0 Kg의 New Zealand백색 가토를 사용하여 음경 전체를 골반골로부터 분리하여 요도를 제거한 후 백막을 보유한 음경해면체를 2 mL organ chamber 관류모형에 연결하고, $10^{-5}M$의 phenylephrine을 관류하여 음경해면체를 수축시킨 후 0.1, 0.5, 1, 2 mg/mL의 에탄올 추출물 또는 $10^{-7}$, $10^{-6}$, $10^{-5}$, $10^{-4}M$의 scoparone을 녹인 용액으로 관류시켜 음경의 장력 변화를 측정하였다. 기존의 발기부전 치료제로 사용되는 실데나필에 대한 인진쑥과의 상호작용을 검토하기 위하여$10^{-6}M$의 scoparone과 $10^{-8}M$의 실데나필을 병용 사용 시 음경해면체 조직에 대한 효과도 함께 검토하였다. Results: 인진쑥의 에탄올 추출물은 phenylephrine으로 전처리하여 수축시킨 음경해면체 평활근을 농도 의존적으로 효과적으로 이완시켰으며 scoparone도 음경해면체 조직에 대한 이완작용 또한 농도 의존적으로 강한 효과를 나타내었다. 실데나필로 전처리한 음경해면체 조직에 대한 scoparone의 효과는 scoparone만을 단독으로 관류시킨 조직에서의 효과보다 강하게 나타났으며 실데나필과 scoparone의 병용사용은 실데나필의 효능을 2배 이상 증가시켰다. Conclusions: Scoparone은 실데나필의 음경해면체평활근 작용을 증가시킴으로써 실데나필에 완전히 반응하지 않는 환자들의 발기부전 치료효과 향상에 유용할 것으로 전망된다.

A mixed-breed hunting dog suffered penile amputation and lacerations in the femoral and inguinal areas while hunting wild boar. The penis was replanted by anastomoses of the urethra, cavernous body, and the left and right dorsal veins of the penis. The transected penis recovered anatomically and functionally. No evidence of postoperative necrosis or edema was detected at the distal portion of the penis. In addition, fistulas and stenosis were not found on urethrogram 20 days after the surgery. Aside from surgery, we performed experimental cavernosography to identify the importance of the anastomosis of the dorsal veins of the penis in three beagle dogs. The cavernosograms revealed that, the contrast medium, which was injected into the bulbus glandis, drained by the left and right dorsal veins of the penis, then converged into one vessel at the ischial arch and diverged into the left and right internal pudendal veins. Thus, reanastomosis of the left and right dorsal veins of the penis in cases of transected canine penis appears to be important for positive postoperative prognosis.

Purpose : As modern society has became more open, interest in healthy internal and external growth has increased, including that pertaining to penile length in children. A micropenis is defined as one where penile length is more than 2 SD (standard deviation) below the mean, and it can be traced back to chromosome and endocrine disorders. The authors executed this study to suggest guidelines for the study of the micropenis and standard information for penile length in Korean newborns. Methods : The subjects of this study were 168 male infants between 37 and 42 weeks of gestational age, none of whom had any complications during pregnancy or birth; each had been born in Daegu Fatima Hospital between February and June 2007. Penile length was measured using conventional stretched penile length measurement (CPLM) and syringe methods. Results : Penile length was $3.02{\pm}0.25cm$ (F=36.467, $R^2=0.180$, P<0.001) when measured with CPLM, and $3.29{\pm}0.26cm$ (F=9.149, $R^2=0.052$, P<0.001) with the syringe method. There was no statistically significant difference in the penile length of newborn infants as a result of taking measurements with the two methods, and both methods showed significance at 0.631 in terms of Pearson's correlation coefficient, at the level of P=0.01. Conclusion : In this study, penile length tended to be longer when gestational age was longer, and a micropenis can be assumed to be one less than 2.5 cm using CPLM and less than 2.8 cm using the syringe method. In the case of a concealed penis, the syringe method is helpful. When a micropenis is assumed, close observation by outpatient department personnel, and additional endocrine and chromosome studies should be undertaken after sufficiently consulting the parents.

1. The backdrop of the study. Accurate diagnasis of the constitution is very important Sasang constitution medicine. This study make research of man's penis and woman's breast, make observation these are significant or not in diagnosis of the constitution. 2. The process. The constitution of the people was diagnosed by QSCCII, specialist, (86 persons, men 39, women 47), the men was taken measure of atony and excited length, thickness of the penis with a rule, thread. the women have a personal interview about her height, weight, the girth of the breast, brassiere cup size. 3.The result. This study shows that Tae-eum-in Is 28 persons(32.6%), So-eum-in 37 persons (43%), So-yang-in 21 persons(24.4%). Man's observation is insignificant statistically, woman's observation is insignificant statistically too.

Penile shaft reconstruction requires adequate soft tissue characteristics as well as constant vascular pedicles when considering a perforator flap. The free flap technique using various donor sites and regional conventional and perforator flaps have been utilized for penile shaft reconstruction. Still, the free flap techniques include challenging surgical procedures in addition to postoperative management. The regional flap can be applied to limited defects due to the size and shape. We performed the bilateral superficial external pudendal artery (SEPA) perforator flaps in order to reconstruct a circumferential penile shaft defect. The circumferential wound has noted necrotic tissue involving superficial (Dartos) fascia. We underwent debridement, preserving deep (Buck's) fascia and corpus spongiosum. Thereafter, the soft tissue defect was covered with bilateral SEPA perforator flaps. The patient has been observed for 27 months, showing penile resilience without deformity or wound-related problems.

The morphological characteristics of the baculum were compared among Rhinolophus ferrumequinum, Hypsugo alaschanicus, Vespertilio sinensis, and Murina hilgendorfi. Their bacula were located at the distal end but their shapes were differed among species. V. sinensis had the longest baculum (mean=7.27 mm), followed by R. ferrumequinum (mean=5.02 mm), H. alaschanicus (mean=2.60 mm) and M. hilgendorfi (mean=2.15 mm). The baculum of R. ferrumequinum was Y-shaped, with a pointed tip and that of V. sinensis was long and conical. However, the baculum of H. alaschanicus was I-shaped, with the widths of proximal and distal ends larger than that of the shaft. The baculum of M. hilgendorfi was small, and oval shaped. The shaft of the baculum of R. ferrumequinum and H. alaschanicus was linear in shape, whereas that of V. sinensis was curved towards the distal end, and that of M. hilgendorfi was bent upward. The results showed that the baculum morphology differed among these four species. These findings can be utilized as an identification key for these species, and they can be used as baseline data for studying the phyletic relationships of bats.

A surgery of penile translocation was performed on a seven-month-old male calf born in August 26, 2007. With a penis deviated, as to prevent proper coitus on a dairy farm, the calf would be introduced to the group of cows and heifers before sniffing around to detect which one is in heat and to indicate to a veterinarian the right time for artificial insemination or embryo transfer. This study showed how to make a teaser bull in his young age.

This study was designed to investigate the effects of KH-305 on erectile dysfunction in young rats, via nitric oxide (NO)-cGMP pathways. After oral administration of the KH-305 mixture (50, 100, 200, 300 mg/kg) to young rats for 10 days, NOS and SOD protein expressions in penile tissue and testosterone in plasma were measured. cGMP degradation was also investigated using bovine vascular smooth muscle cells pretreated with an NO donor, S-nitroso-N-Acetylpenicillamine (SNAP). The penile expression levels of nNOS and eNOS-dependent NOS activities as well as SOD preventing oxidative stress by overproduction of NO were increased significantly. Also, the concentration of testosterone in the plasma was increased. In vitro, cGMP concen-trations were decreased dose dependently in the KH-305. These results suggest that KH-305 may be useful in erectile dysfunction.
