Multi-Hypothesis Error Concealment Algorithm for H.26L Video (H.26L을 위한 다차원 에러 은닉 기법)

  • In this work, we propose a multi-hypothesis error concealment algorithm, which replaces a lost block with a weighted superposition of more than two reference blocks in previous frames. Three methods are developed to find the set of reference blocks and determine the weighting coefficients. These methods are implemented based on H.26L standard, and their performances are evaluated. It is shown that the proposed multi-hypothesis algorithm provides up to 1.5㏈ better PSNR performance than the conventional single-hypothesis concealment algorithm.

  • Nowadays, most hospitals have been used to create MRI or CT and managed them. Doctors depend on fast access to images such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs), computerized tomography (CT) scans, and X-rays for accurate diagnoses. Those image data are related privacy of a patient. Therefore, it should be protected from hackers and managed perfectly. In this paper, we propose a data hiding method into MRI or CT related a condition and intervention of a patient, and it is suggested that how to authenticate patient information from an image. In this way, we create hash code using HMAC with patient information, and hash code and patient information is hided into an image. After then, doctor will check authentication using HMAC. In addition, we use a reversible data hiding DE(Difference Expansion) algorithm to hide patient information. This technique is possible to reconstruct the original image with stego image. Therefore, doctor can easily be possible to check condition of a patient. As a consequence of an experiment with MRI image, data hiding, extraction and reconstruct is shown compact performance.

  • Digital watermarking has similar concepts with channel coding thechnique for transferring data with minimizing error in noise environment, since it should be robust to various kinds of data manipulation for protecting copyrights of multimedia data. This paper proposes a digital watermarking technique which is robust to various kinds of data manipulation. Intellectual property rights information is encoded using a convolutional code, and block-interleaving technique is applied to prevent successive loss of encoded data. Encoded intelloctual property rithts informationis embedded using spread spectrum technique which is robust to cata manipulation. In order to reconstruct intellectual property rights information, watermark signalis detected by covariance between watermarked image and pseudo rando noise sequence which is used to einbed watermark. Embedded intellectual property rights information is obtaned by de-interleaving and cecoding previously detected wtermark signal. Experimental results show that block interleaving watermarking technique can detect embedded intellectial property right informationmore correctly against to attacks like Gaussian noise additon, filtering, and JPEG compression than general spread spectrum technique in the same PSNR.

Hierarchical Search-based Fast Schemes for Consecutive Block Error Concealment (연속된 블록 오류 은닉을 위한 계층 탐색 기반의 고속 알고리즘)

  • With the growth of multimedia systems, compressing image data has become more important in the area of multimedia services. Since a compressed image bitstream can often be seriously distorted by various types of channel noise, an error concealment algorithm becomes a very important issue. In order to solve this problem, Hsia proposed the error concealment algorithm where he recovered lost block data using 1D boundary matching vectors. His algorithm, however, requires high computational complexity since each matching vector needs MAD (Mean Absolute Difference) values of all pixels, which is either a boundary line top or a boundary line bottom of a damaged block. We propose a hierarchical search-based fast error concealment scheme as well as its approximated version to reduce computational time. In the proposed scheme, a hierarchical search is applied to reduce the number of checking points for searching a vector. The error concealment schemes proposed in this paper can be about 3 times faster than Hsia's with keeping visual quality and PSNR.

  • 고도 정보화 사회의 발전에 따라 멀티미디어의 발달, 그리고 인터넷의 보급으로 인하여 멀티미디어 정보의 지적 소유권 보호를 목적으로 영상 데이터에 기밀정보를 삽입하는 정보 은닉에 관한 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 정보 은닉의 한 방법인 디지털 워터마킹 기술은 크게 화소 값에 직접 정보를 삽입하는 공간 영역(spatial domain) 기반 워터마킹과 주파수 영역으로 변환하여 정보를 삽입하는 주파수 영역(frequency domain)기반 워터마킹으로 나눌 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 영상의 디지털 데이터를 FFT에 의해 주파수 영역으로 변환하여 인간의 시각으로는 지각할수 없는 주파수 영역에 워터마크를 삽입한 후, 무결성의 정도를 측정하여 워터마크를 검출하는 주파수 영역기반(frequency domain based) 디지털 워터마킹 기법을 제안한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 스테레오스코픽 영상 및 깊이 프레임 오류 은닉 알고리즘을 제안한다. i) 좌측 컬러 프레임 오류 발생시 시간적 상관관계를 이용하여 프레임을 복원한다. iii) 우측 컬러 프레임 오류 발생시 깊이 정보 및 DIBR 기법을 이용하여 좌 우 시점간의 매칭 픽셀을 예측하고, 매칭된 픽셀의 움직임 벡터 및 밝기 차이를 이용하여 프레임을 복원한다. iii) 좌측 깊이 프레임과 iv) 우측 깊이 프레임의 오류 발생시 좌 우측 컬러 프레임의 움직임 벡터를 이용하여 손실된 프레임을 복원한다. 컴퓨터 모의 실험을 통해 제안하는 알고리즘의 스테레오스코픽 컬러 및 깊이 프레임 오류 복원 성능을 확인한다.

  • Nowdays, Most of Internet Contents delivered as a compressed file. It gives many advantages like deduction of communication bandwidth and transmission time etc. In case of JPEG Compression, Quantization is the most important procedure which accomplish the compression. In general signal processing, Quantization is the process which converts continuous analog signal to discrete digital signal. As you known already, Quantization over JPEG compression is to reduce magnitude of pixel value in spatial domain or coefficient in frequency domain. A lot of Data Hiding algorithms also developed to applicable for those compressed files. In this paper, we are going to unveil the influence of quantization table which used in the process of JPEG compression. Even thought most of algorithm modify frequency coefficients with considering image quality, they are ignoring the influence of quantization factor corresponding with the modified frequency coefficient. If existing algorithm adapt this result, they can easily evaluate their performances.

A Steganography for the Medical Images using Block Similarity (블록 유사도를 이용한 의료영상 스테가노그라피)

  • Recently, due to problems in terms of illegal copying of medical image and the right ownership and authentication of data, it is necessary for us to study about those problems. In this study, we propose steganography with a method of the hiding information of high-resolution in digital medical image. The proposed algorithm is one of the way that inserts secret information by protecting ROI area which is regarded as and important feature of high-resolution digital medical image. As a result, the proposed method made it possible to insert secret information of massive storage and didn't affect the imperceptibility in medical image quality based on capacity and PSNR showed the all image quality of about 33.33dB.

Image Watermarking Algorithm using Spatial Encryption (공간적 암호화를 사용하는 영상 워터마킹 기법)

  • In this paper, a technique for securely concealing the watermark, which is intellectual property information, in the image pixel LSB using spatial encryption is proposed. The proposed watermarking technique can be effectively used to protect intellectual property of images. The proposed technique can be used to extract watermark without loss from the stego-image, which is a hidden image of spatially encrypted watermark. The experimental results confirmed the superiority of the proposed technique. As a result of performing watermarking using the proposed technique, the image quality of the stego-image is higher than 51 dB, so humans cannot visually recognize the presence of a watermark. Due to the watermark is spatially encrypted, the security of the watermark is excellent.

  • In this paper: we propose the adaptive error concealment technique for scalable video coding over wireless network error prove environment. We prove it is very effective that Error concealment techniques proposed in this paper are applied to scalable video data. In this paper, we propose two methods of error concealment. First one is that the en·or is concealed using the motion vector of base layer and previous VOP data. Second one is that according to existence of motion vector in error position, the error is concealed using the same position data of base layer when the motion vector is existing otherwise using the same position data of previous VOP when the motion vector is 0(zero) adaptively. We show that according to various error pattern caused by condition of wireless network and characteristics of sequence, we refer decoder to base layer data or previous enhancement layer data to effective error concealment. Using scalable coding of MPEG-4 In this paper, this error concealment techniques are available to be used every codec based on DCT.
