Visible light communication, which transmits information using visible light, has advantages such as ultra-high speed, ultra-delay, and ultra-connectivity, so research is being conducted as a way to complement 6G communication. In this paper, a study was conducted to overcome the performance degradation caused by the RGB mixing ratio in visible light communication. In a visible light communication system using LED lighting, the role of lighting is an important function, and when used for communication, the performance difference according to the RGB mixing ratio inevitably occurs. In particular, if the intensity of light is below a certain standard, the problem of deteriorating the performance of the entire system occurs. In this study, when a certain performance or less occurs in the communication system caused by the difference in the mixing ratio among the three RGB channels, the remaining two signals except the LED with the best performance are transmitted to STBC (Space-Time Block Coding) to ensure the quality of communication. A computer simulation was performed to verify the performance of the proposed system, and it can be seen that the performance of the proposed system is improved compared to the existing system.
This study is a descriptive survey study to identify the relationship between nurse-nurse cooperation, nurse-doctor cooperation, and professional self-concept perceived by nursing students among nursing students with clinical practice experience. The subjects of the study were 140 nursing students, and the collected data were descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and regression analysis of the factors influencing professional self-concept. As a result of the study, professional self-concept was positively correlated with nurse-nurse cooperation and nurse-doctor cooperation, and the influencing factor of professional self-concept was nurse-nurse cooperation, with explanatory power of 48.0%. Therefore, in order to improve the nursing professional self-concept of nursing students, it is necessary to develop an educational program to enhance cooperation between professionals to promote the cooperative relationship between nurses and nurses, and to develop a curriculum for the development and application of simulation scenarios for cooperation between professionals based on clinical field cases.

Residual crosstalk has been considered as a major drawback of conventional time-reversal processing in the case of simultaneous multiple focusing. In this paper, the Gram-Schmidt process is applied to time-reversal processing to mitigate crosstalk in ocean waveguides for multiple probe sources. Experimental data-based numerical simulations confirm that nulls can be placed at multiple locations, and it is shown that different signals can be simultaneously focused at different probe source locations, ensuring distortionless responses in terms of active time-reversal processing. This focusing property is also shown to be much less affected by a reduction in the number of receivers than the adaptive time-reversal mirror method. The proposed method is shown to be effective in eliminating crosstalk in passive multi-input multi-output communications using sea-going data.
Research in the area of financial portfolio optimization, with the dual goals of increasing expected returns and reducing financial risk, has actively explored various risk measurement indicators. At the same time, the incorporation of various penalty terms to construct efficient portfolios with limited assets has been investigated. In this study, we present a novel portfolio optimization formula that combines the mean-shortfall portfolio and the SLOPE penalty term. Specifically, we formulate this optimization expression, which differs from linear programming, by introducing new variables and using the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) algorithms. Through simulations, we validate the automatic grouping property of the SLOPE penalty term within the proposed mean-shortfall portfolio. Furthermore, using the model introduced in this paper, we propose and evaluate four different types of portfolio compositions relevant to real-world investment scenarios through empirical data analysis.
In shallow water, the array invariant, known as the effective range estimation method, is developed based on the broadband dispersion characteristics in an ideal waveguide, which can be summarized by the waveguide invariant. It is robust enough to estimate both the array tilt and range simultaneously, even in situations where array tilt exists. Recently, it has been extended to fully consider the angle dependence of the waveguide invariant. However, applying the array invariant in range-dependent environments instead of range-independent environments can lead to range estimation errors due to bathymetry mismatch. In this paper, we interpret such range estimation errors by introducing the concept of effective range. Through numerical simulations and experimental data in a weakly range-dependent environment, we demonstrate the relationship between range estimation errors and effective range.
Matched-Field Processing (MFP) is a model-based approach that requires accurate knowledge of the ocean environment and array geometry (e.g., array tilt) to localize underwater acoustic sources. Consequently, it is inherently sensitive to model mismatches. In contrast, the waveguide invariant-based approach (also known as array invariant) offers a simple and robust means for source-range estimation in shallow waters. This approach solely exploits the beam angles and travel times of multiple arrivals separated in the beam-time domain, requiring no modeling of the acoustic fields, unlike MFP. This paper extends the waveguide invariant-based approach to shallow water environments featuring a shallow pit, where the waveguide invariant is not defined due to the complex bathymetry. An in-depth performance analysis is conducted using experimental data and numerical simulations.
To suppress the reverberation in the active sonar system, the non-negative matrix factorization-based reverberation suppression methods have been researched recently. An estimation loss function, which makes the multiplication of basis matrices same as the input signals, has to be considered to design the non-negative matrix factorization methods, but the conventional method simply chooses the Kullback-Leibler divergence asthe lossfunction without any considerations. In this paper, we examined that the Kullback-Leibler divergence is the best lossfunction or there isthe other loss function enhancing the performance. First, we derived a modified reverberation suppression algorithm using the generalized beta-divergence function, which includes the Kullback-Leibler divergence. Then, we performed Monte-Carlo simulations using synthesized reverberation for the modified reverberation suppression method. The results showed that the Kullback-Leibler divergence function (β = 1) has good performances in the high signal-to-reverberation environments, but the intermediate function (β = 1.25) between Kullback-Leibler divergence and Euclidean distance has better performance in the low signal-to-reverberation environments.

Recently, some methods of converging heterogeneous fire sensor data have been proposed for effective fire detection, but the rule-based methods have low adaptability and accuracy, and the fuzzy inference methods suffer from detection speed and accuracy by lack of consideration for images. In addition, a few image-based deep learning methods were researched, but it was too difficult to rapidly recognize the fire event in absence of cameras or out of scope of a camera in practical situations. In this paper, we propose a novel fire detection system combining a deep learning algorithm based on CNN and fuzzy inference engine based on heterogeneous fire sensor data including temperature, humidity, gas, and smoke density. we show it is possible for the proposed system to rapidly detect fire by utilizing images and to decide fire in a reliable way by utilizing multi-sensor data. Also, we apply distributed computing architecture to fire detection algorithm in order to avoid concentration of computing power on a server and to enhance scalability as a result. Finally, we prove the performance of the system through two experiments by means of NIST's fire dynamics simulator in both cases of an explosively spreading fire and a gradually growing fire.

Introduction: The planning of implant surgery is an important factor for the implant prosthesis. Stereolithographic (SLA) surgical stents based on a computer simulation are quite helpful for clinicians to perform the surgery as planned. Although many clinical and technical trials have been performed for computed tomography (CT)-guided implant stents to improve the surgical procedures and prosthetic treatment, there are still many problems to solve. We developed a system of a surgical guide based on 3 dimensional (3D) CT for implant therapy and achieved satisfactory results in the terms of planning and operation. Materials and Methods: Fifteen patients were selected and 30 implant fixtures were installed. The preoperative CT data for surgical planning were prepared after obtaining informed consent. Surgical planning was performed using the simulation program, Ondemend3D In2Guide. The stents were fabricated based on the simulation data containing information of the residual bone, the location of the nerve, and the expected design of the prostheses. After surgery with these customized stents, the accuracy and reproducibility of implant surgery were evaluated based on the computer simulation. The data of postoperative CT were used to confirm this system using the image fusion technique and compare the implant fixtures between the planned and implanted. Results: The mean error was 1.18 (${\pm}0.73$) mm at the occlusal center, 1.23 (${\pm}0.67$) mm at the apical center, and the axis error between the two fixtures was $3.25^{\circ}C$ (${\pm}3.00$). These stents showed superior accuracy in maxilla cases. The lateral side error at the apical center was significantly different from the error at the occlusal center but there were no significant differences between the premolars, 1st molars and 2nd molars. Conclusion: SLA surgical stents based on a computer simulation have the satisfactory accuracy and are expected to be useful for accurate planning and surgery if some errors can be improved.
Cognitive Radio (CR) ad hoc network is highly considered as one of promising future ad hoc networks, which enables opportunistic access to under-utilized licensed spectrum. Similarly to other CR networks, the spectrum sensing is a prerequisite in CR ad hoc network. Collaborative spectrum sensing can help increasing sensing performance. For such an infrastructureless network, however the coordination for the sensing collaboration is really complicated due to the lack of a central controller. In this paper, we propose a novel collaborative spectrum sensing scheme in which the final decision is made by the node with the highest data reliability based on a sequential Dempster Shafer theory. The collaboration of sensing data is also executed by the proposed contention-aware reporting mechanism which utilizes the sensing data reliability order for broadcasting spectrum sensing result. The proposed method reduces the collecting time and the overhead of the control channel due to the efficiency of the ordered sequential combination while keeping the same sensing performance in comparison with the conventional cooperative centralized spectrum sensing scheme.
