A Study on the Analysis and Development of Proportional Pressure Control Valve for Vehicle Active Suspension System via Hydraulics Actuator (유압 액추에이터를 고려한 능동 현가장치용 비례압력제어밸브의 해석과 개발)

  • Generally, the hydraulic pressures are used for transmitting the force. Therefore, a highly reliable and inexpensive control system has been required for a passenger car. The control-ability of active suspension system is strongly affected by the performance of pressure control valve in the view of dynamic response and energy consumption. In this study, we suggested main design parameters for the optimum design of proportional pressure control valve. The mathematical simulation model was derived from the quarter type model which consisted a valve and hydraulic damper for the purpose of analyzing the valve characteristics. Experiments were performed to confirm the performance of the valve and computations were carried out to ascertain the usefulness of the developed program. The results from computations fairly coincide with those from experiments. This has been achieved by developing the servomechanism valve which comprises the simple combination of a solenoid, a spool valve and a poppet valve. The results from experiments and computations show the development process of optimum proportional pressure control valve in the hydraulics system.

  • Today, hydraulic systems play an important role in modern industry for the reasons that hydraulic actuator systems take many advantages over other technologies with high durability and the ability to produce large forces at high speeds. In recent years, electro-hydraulic actuator systems, which combine electric and hydraulic technology into a compact unit, have been adapted to a wide variety of force, speed and torque requirements. Moreover these systems resolve energy consumption and noise problems characteristic existed in the conventional hydraulic systems. Therefore, these systems have a wide range application fields especially in an excavator. So the purpose of this paper is to demonstrate efficiency of the energy saving and present some control algorithms which apply to electro-hydraulic actuator system in the bucket of the excavator. Experiments are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed system with various external loads as in real working conditions.

  • The hydraulic servo actuator has always operated very precisely with high frequency and small displacement, and is used continuously for a long time. The hydraulic servo actuator of the test equipment used in the accelerated life test in order to guarantee the service life of the automotive parts failed earlier than the products before finishing the test. This study performed an analysis on the cause of the failure of the hydraulic servo actuator used in the test equipment, changed the design of the actuator to solve the root cause of the main failure mode, and developed the improved servo actuator. Based on above process, this study established a better performances and longer lifetime of the servo actuator after testing.

  • Reduction in pressure transients may be important in the hydraulic system and necessary to avoid failure and to improve the efficiency of operation. This study addresses the design and use of an orifice to provide the desired control of the hydraulic actuator system. The experimental apparatus is a model of an automobile shift system. Control is accomplished by installing four different diameter ratio of orifices at appropriate locations in the system. Experimental results show that the orifice can be used to obtain the control of shock and the control level depends on the orifice size, orifice type, operating conditions.

  • Hydraulic actuators are used widely for industrial machinery. The seal made from elastomer is used as a core part of the actuator, NBR(nitrile butadiene rubber) materials with high quality of oil resistance and abrasion resistance is used widely, requiring excellent characteristic of sealing. According to applied circumstances, the actuators for industrial machinery are used under different temperature situations. In this study, three different kinds of NBR, which is Hs70, 80, 90 are determined as one of hydraulic materials. An experimental investigation is performed to confirm the non-linearity under different temperature ($-10^{\circ}C,\;20^{\circ}C,\;80^{\circ}C,\;100^{\circ}C$) situation, material constants for finite element analysis and plastic deformation in accordance with Load-unload.

  • In this paper a configuration of the load evaluation device for the tilting actuator using hydraulic power is presented, which makes it possible to measure the force action on the tilting actuator. It is possible to measure only current using the conventional electro-mechanical actuator when the bogie is in the process of the tilting. This makes impossible to measure the force acting on the tilting actuator. In order to overcome this problem a kinetic mechanism test system using hydraulic cylinder is proposed. The system are consisted of hydraulic cylinder for the tilting actuation, control system to control hydraulic power, sensors to measure for force and displacement and monitoring system for the user interface.

  • This study proposes the system of new small sluice gate operated without the upper concrete structure. The new mechanism is composed of hydraulic system, driving mechanism to feed the floodgate up and down, hydrological locking device, safety device and etc. The hydraulic pumps and control systems away from the location of the sluice gate systems are installed and controled in place. The feed device with the hydraulic rack, pinion and hydraulic actuator is installed on the side of the sluice gate. The following results take the advantages of cost reduction, operation safety and compact product.

Design of Lateral Controller for Autonomous Guidance of a Farm Tractor in Field Operations (농업용 트랙터의 작업 시 자동 운전 유도를 위한 횡방향 제어기 설계)

  • This paper presents a robust lateral controller for autonomous guidance of a farm tractor in field operations. Although mechanical steering actuators have recently been used for passenger vehicles, the steering actuator of the farm tractor is based on a hydraulic system, resulting in limited bandwidth and a larger time delay. Based on a kinematic tractor model with steering actuator dynamics, a nonlinear control technique called dynamic surface control is applied to design a robust lateral controller that compensates for uncertainty owing to steering actuator and road geometry. Finally, tracking performance and robustness of the proposed controller are validated via commercial tractor simulations, with respect to the time delay of the steering actuator and road geometry (e.g., up and down hills), on a given field with a constant friction coefficient.
