  • Gear trains are used in many machinery for variable speed ratios. Typical shapes of gear trains are tivo categories : simple gear trains and planetary gear trains. This paper presents the kinematic ctraracteristics for planetary gear trains. The characteristics are the constraints of geometric relationships, number of gears, speed of each gear. and speed ratio of the train. The objective goal of this paper provides the CAI) software, which is the academic tool for understanding the kinematics of the planetary gear trains.

  • Transplanting accuracy of a rice transplanter mainly depends on the trajectory of the hoe for picking, conveying and transplanting of seedlings as well as the return motion. The trajectory can be decided and prescribed to be suitable in treating seedlings fur a prevailing soil condition. For the purpose of the transplanting accuracy, the design of a transplanting mechanism would be carried out using a planetary-gear-train system instead of the four bar linkage system. In this study, a design method of transplanting mechanism is theoretically proposed by synthesizing a noncircular planetary-gear-train system fur the tool (hoe) to trace a prescribed trajectory. The method utilizes an optimization approach to decide the lengths of an arm and a tool, the inverse kinematics to figure out the configuration angles of the two links, the roll contact condition in transmitting motion between the gears, and a linearization approach to obtain the shapes of the gears. Based on the proposed method, the shapes of the gears and the lengths of the tools of the planetary-gear-train system are determined fur three prescribed trajectories. A kinematical simulation with a commercialized package program is also carried out to confirm that the gear-train system synthesized with the proposed method is able to trace the prescribed trajectory.

Influence of Flexible Pin for Planets on Service Life of Wind Turbine Gearboxes (풍력 발전기용 증속기의 유연 핀이 수명에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • An overhung mounted carrier with flexible pins is applied to the planetary gear train of a wind turbine gearbox to investigate the influence of the self-aligning effect by means of the deflection of the planet spindle and the flexible pin on the lifetime of the planet gear for a wind turbine gearbox. To analyze the load distribution of planet gears, both Euler theory and commercial software are employed. By applying an overhung mounted carrier with flexible pins in the wind turbine gearbox, we can improve the misalignment performance, face load factor, and service life of the planet gears. In particular, it was confirmed that a service life of more than 20 years could be realized for wind turbine gearboxes by applying a flexible pin to the overhung mounted carrier.

  • The gearbox for wind turbine have been increased the size by the wind turbine is needed to produce bigger power. The optimal sizing for gearbox is demanded because of limited space on the nacelle. The volume and weight for the gearbox are influenced especially for size of it. Therefore, the purpose of this study investigates the design characteristics considering types of gear train structure for optimizing the volume and weight of the gearbox.

  • In this paper, the transmission error of a atar type Epicyclic Gear Train (EGT) has been studied. Dynamic analysis has been executes calculate the rotation angle of the input and output shafts at various loads. Transmission Error of EGT has been measured to compare with the analysis results. There are qualitative similarity between the experimental and analytical results.

인공심장의 연구개발 현황

  • 국내에서 개발중인 인공심장으로는 서울대학교 공과대학 기계설계학과와 서울대학교병원 의공학과에서 공동으로 개발중인 전기-기계식 인공심장이 있다. 모우터가 내장된 실린더가 모우터의 정.역전에 따라 통 안에서 좌.우로 움직이면서 좌.우심실을 교대로 압축한다. 모우터가 들어 있는 실린더의 위치가 통 안에서 고정되어 있지 않고 움직이므로, 한쪽 심실이 팽창할 때 실린더가 다른 한쪽 심실 공간을 차지하여 결국 전체 체적은 하나의 심실 공간과 모우터 공간만 있으면 되므로 모우터의 위치가 고정된 형식에 비해 체적 감소가 가능하다. 에너지 변환기를 구성하는 기계요소로는 2단의 유성기어열과 랙(rack)뿐으로서 비교적 구조가 간단하여 고장의 가능성이 낮다. 따라서 기존 모델들이 지니고 있는 단점들이 거의 극복 되었다. 현재 모의 순환실험에 성공하고 동물 실험을 준비 하고 있다.

It has been shown that the analysis results are in good agreements with the experimental results. Harmonic analysis has been executed to verify the effect of thickness variance of gearbox housing on the modal response. Analyzing the calculated results, some guides for optimal vibration response has been deduced.

Influence of Ring Gear Boundary Conditions on the Static Characteristics of Epicyclic Gear Trains with Manufacturing Errors (링기어의 경계조건이 가공오차를 가지는 유성기어열의 정특성에 미치는 영향)

  • A hybrid finite element analysis was used to analyze the influence of ring gear rim thickness and spline number on the static properties of an epicyclic gear system with manufacturing errors. Both of these parameters affected the bearing force and critical stress. The effect of changes in the rim thickness on the load sharing between the gears depended on the type of manufacturing error. Ring flexibility improved the load sharing between planetary gears only in systems with planet tooth thickness or planet tangential errors; for other types of error, ring flexibility worsened the load sharing. To improve load sharing, rim thickness and spline number should be controlled within a specific range. The effect of the ring gear boundary condition was more apparent in a system with errors than in a normal system.

  • In this paper, dynamic characteristics of an epicyclic gear train considering Coriolis effect have been studied. High speed transmissions such as in an aircraft engines will be strongly influenced by Coriolis effect. Gear meshes were modelled as springs and dampers with periodically varying mechanical constants with time. The loci of planet gear, sun gear. and carrier were analyzed. Maximum values of mesh forces between sun gear and planet gear(S/P) as well as between planet gear and ring gear(P/R) have been simulated as function of rotating speed.
