Development of Traffic Accident Forecasting Models Considering Urban-Transportation System Characteristics (토지이용 및 교통특성을 반영한 교통사고 예측모형 개발 연구)

  • This study proposed a traffic accident prediction model developed based on administrative districts of Seoul. The model was to find the relationship between accident rates and the representative land usage of the districts (development density) - the higher the development density (building floor area) is, the higher the traffic accident rate is. The findings showed that traffic accident statistics differ from (1) residential building floor area, (2) commercial building floor area and (3) business building floor area.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop micro simulation model for large-scale network with driver's behavior model. This study is performed for uninterrupted flow road section. And this model is developed to simulate traffic flow of the real network with unique geometric structure. The vehicle transmission and drivers' behavior model based on the exiting Cellular Automata approach.

  • 본 연구는 가상현실을 이용하여 교통사고 후 경험하게 되는 불안감 및 공포감과 같은 심리적인 후유 장애에 대한 치료 프로그램을 개발하기 위한 예비 연구로 수행되었다. 가상현실을 통한 교통사고 후유장애 프로그램의 핵심내용이 되는 운전 주행 시나리오의 효과를 검증하고 이완훈련 등의 불안감소훈련의 효과를 피험자를 통해 검증해보았다. 총 8명 피험자(정상인 7명, 교통사고 환자1명)를 대상으로 세 가지 주행상황 시나리오를 제시하고 이후 이완훈련을 실시하였다. 그 결과 이완훈련 후 유의미한 불안감소 효과가 나타났다. 하지만 각각의 주행상황에 따라서 불안이 증가되는 경향성은 나타났으나 통계적으로 유의미한 수준에 이르지는 못하였다. 이를 종합하여 볼 때, 주로 정상인을 대상으로 한 연구임에도 불안유발경향성이 나타난 점들은 고무적이나 교통사고자를 대상으로 한 경험적인 증명이 필요하며, 가상현실을 이용한 이완훈련은 효과적인 것으로 판명되었다.

  • In this research we developed a new traffic accident forecasting model on the basis of land use. A new traffic accident forecasting model by type was developed based on market segmentation and further introduction of variables that may reflect characteristics of various regions using Classification and Regression Tree Method. From the results of analysis, activities variables such as the registered population, commuters as well as road size, traffic accidents causing facilities being the subjects of activities were derived as variables explaining traffic accidents.

  • Recently, bicycle sharing system is introduced and the usage of shared bicycles is increasing in Suwon city. Despite the need to expand the bicycle road infrastructure, this is not the case. Therefore, this research attempts to propose a method for bicycle lane installation in Suwon city. For this, this research conducted location analysis based on the shared bicycle usage data and trip inducing facility data. Using location analysis results, appropriate routes for bicycle lanes are selected. As a result, two routes are selected. These routes have advantages that it is easy to connect with the existing bicycle roads or traffic inducing facilities and to install using the existing bicycle roads. However, these routes also have disadvantage that traffic congestion may occur due to the occupancy of the existing road space. It is expected that this research may contribute to expansion and maintenance of bicycle lane infrastructure, the bicycle and PM sharing service usage, implementation of sustainable urban transportation systems in Suwon city.

An Analysis of Insurance Crimes: The Case of Blackmail in Automobile Accidents (보험사기범죄에 대한 분석 고의 교통사고 유도 - 합의금 요구 사건을 중심으로)

  • This paper analyzes insurance crimes using a game theoretic model. In blackmailing cases involving automobile accidents, insurance criminals deliberately induce innocent drivers(victims) to commit a moving violation such as crossing over the center dividing yellow line, and collide with the victims. After the collision, the criminals and the victims effectively engage in a bargaining game over the amount of the settlement for the damage. Because the penalty for that kind of moving violation is very severe (even criminally prosecuted), the victims do not have much bargaining power. Exploiting the weak bargaining power of the victims, the criminals demand and receive huge compensation (including settlement) from the victims. In the model, it is shown that under the current law agents have perverse incentives leading to insurance crimes. The criminals have incentive to induce car collisions and extract huge settlement from the victims. Based on the analysis, it is suggested that lowering the severity of penalty for certain kind of violation may be needed to prevent insurance crimes, in addition to increasing the crime investigation activities and strengthening punishment for insurance criminals.

  • The advancement of technology for image processing and communications makes it possible for current traffic signal controllers and vehicle detection technology to make both emergency vehicle preemption and transit priority strategies as a part of integrated system. Present]y traffic signal control in crosswalk is controlled by fixed signals. The signal control keeps regular signals traffic even with no traffic, when there is traffic, should wait until the signal is given. Waiting time causes the risk of traffic accidents and traffic congestion in accordance with signal violation. To help reduce the risk of accidents and congestion, this paper explains traffic signal control system for the adaptive priority order so that signal may be preferentially given in accordance with the situation of site through the object detect images.

  • Traffic accident number is decreasing tendency every year. But, large size accident or hit-and-run case increases continuously. As well as, traffic accident causes real form of accident ambit thats why, social expense rises. For that reason we are going to present our plan that can prevent traffic accident when traffic accident occurs, we presented our idea that can arbitrate traffic accident quickly. Driver can know more correctly traffic circumstance through hearing and sight by using DMB. Finally, we suggested plan that supply traffic information that is more effective by TPEG.
