Characteristic Analysis of Al Films Grown on Plastic Substrates and Glass Substrates (고분자 플라스틱 기판과 유리 기판위에 증착한 알류미늄 박막 특성 분석)

  • Al films (1000~4000${\AA}$)were deposited on glass and polymer(polyethersulfine) plastic substrates by DC-magnetron sputtering for plastic-based flat-panel displays. A stepped heating process was used both to improve the electrical characteristics and to diminish the thermal expansion of the polymer substrates. Following this procedure, we could succeed in sputtering Al films without any cracking or shrinkage of the polymer substrates. The treatment temperatures and deposited process of Al films were under 200$^{\circ}C$. Also, this low temperature fabrication process allows the application of plastic substrates. Scanning Electrom Microscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy, X-ray Dffractometry, and electrical measurements such as resistivity measurements were performed to investigate the properties of deposited the Al films and their reliability. 

Thermal Insulation Property of UV Cure Coatings Using Hollow Micro-Spheres (마이크로 중공구를 이용한 자외선 경화 코팅 박막의 단열 특성)

  • In this study, the composite coating materials with improved thermal insulation property were prepared by incorporating the hollow micro-spheres with high heat transfer resistance. The UV curable resin system consisting of hexa aliphatic urethane acrylate (UP118), trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA), 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate (HDDA), and photoinitiator (Irgacure184) was employed as an organic binder. The glass substrates were coated by the prepared composites via bar coating method and cured under UV radiation. The optical transparency, thermal insulation property, adhesion, and surface hardness of the glass coated with composites containing different type of micro-spheres were investigated. The incorporation of micro-spheres with only 20 vol% of content resulted in remarkable improvement in the thermal insulation property of the coated glass. In addition, the transparent coated glass with light transmittance of about 80% could be obtained when silica micro-sphere (SP) was used as a thermal barrier.

A study of transmittance and color change of various photochromic lenses by an UVA lamp (UVA광원에 의한 Photochromic lens의 색비율 제어에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, We measured transmittance and color change of various photochromic lens as a function of temperature(6, 12, $28^{\circ}C$), irradiation time of UVA lamp and the types of materials(plastic and glass) and distribution of photochromic ingredients(coated and bulk type). The coated-type photochromic lens showed higher saturated value than bulk-type lens without regard to temperature. And darkening rate of smoke color lenses were higher compare to brown lens in case of glass photochromic lens. All of photochromic lens passed ANSI Z80.3 regulation in transmittance and color independent of temperature. The saturated values of plastic photochromic lens excluded coated-type and glass photochromic lens were ranked as cosmetic use. The saturated value of coated-type. Tbr and TMs were general applications in $6^{\circ}C$ and $12^{\circ}C$, but cosmetic purpose in $28^{\circ}C$. The darkening rate was increased with decreasing temperature, whereas the fading rate became higher with increasing temperature.

  • CBD 방법은 저비용으로 양질의 CdS 박막을 얻을 수 있는 증착 방법으로, 고효율의 CdS/CdTe 태양전지를 얻기에도 적당하다. 투명전도 산화막(Transparent Conducting Oxide - TCO)이 입혀진 유리 기판 위에 CBD 방식으로 형성된 CdS 박막은 추후 CdTe 박막형성을 위해 근접승화법(Close Spaced Sublimation - CSS) 장치에 기판으로 사용된다. 또한 추후 열처리공정을 겪게 되는데, 이때 고온 상태에 높여지기 때문에 CdS 박막의 물성에 변화를 나타나게 된다. 이를 XRD, Raman spectrometer, SEM, EDS, 등의 분석 장치를 이용하여 특성 변화를 분석 하고자 한다.

Preparation of damage-less SnO$_{2}$ thin films by RF magnetron sputtering with oxide target (산화물 target의 RF마그네트론 스파터링에 의한 비손상 SnO$_{2}$박막의 제조)

  • RF마그네트론 스파터링에 의한 $sSnO_2$ 박막을 증착한 결과 작동조건에 따라 표면에서 막손상이 발생하였는데, 이는 target에서 생성된 높은 에너지의 고속입자가 기판에서 직접 충돌로 일어나며, 마그네트론의 자계분포와도 관계된다. 또한 기판의 위치에 따라 박막의 전기적, 구조적 특성이 급격히 변하는데 본 논문은 중심자석의 세기와 RF power, 가스압력, 그리고 기판온도 등의 스파터링 작동조건을 변화시키면서 박막의 비손상을 검토하였고, 물성특성을 평가하였다. 실험결과로 부터 기판의 외축부에서 제작된 박막은 전반적으로 막손상이 없었고, 특히 target의 중심자석을 Cobalt로 설치하고 15 mTorr의 가스압력과 50 W의 RF power로 한 경우 가장 우수한 특성을 가진 박막을 얻을 수 있었다. 추가로 막손상을 방지하고자, 환원형의 masking glass를 target위에 설치하였는데, 고에너지 입자의 직접 충돌을 확실히 차단할 수 있었으며, 비저항율도 target의 부식부위 (erosion)에 대응하는 부분에서 100배 정도로 개선하였다.

Microstructure of ZnO Thin Films Deposited by PECVD using Diethylzine (Diethylzinc를 사용하여 PECVD로 증착한 ZnO 박막의 미세 구조 분석)

  • ZnO thin films were depositsd by Plasma enhanced CVD (PUW) using Diethylzinc and N2O gas, and micro-structue of ZnO thin films were investigated ZnO thin films composed of micro-crystallites was deposited at the substrate of loot. However, highly c-axis oriented ZnO thin films were deposited on the glass substrates above 200℃. TEM analysis revealed that an epitaxial (002) ZnO thin film was deposited on c-plane sapphire substrate at the substrate temperature of 350℃, and More patterns showing partial dislocation were observed at the grain boundary.

Heat treatment effects of $SrTiO_3$ thin films grown on ITO glasses by RE-magnetron sputtering method (RF-Magnetron Sputtering에 의하여 ITO 유리 위에 성장된 $SrTiO_3$박막의 열처리 특성)

  • Microstructural, optical and dielectric properties of $SrTiO_3$ thin films were investigated. These films were deposited on the ITO glasses by rf-magnetron sputtering at room temperature and subequently heat treated in $O_2$ atmosphere at various temperatures. It has been found from X-ray diffraction patterns that as-deposited films prepared at room temperature are amorphous, while the films heat treated at temperature range of 400~$600^{\circ}C$ reveal the structure of pyrochlore. On the other hand, the structure of perovskite is dominantly observed in the films heat treated at temperatures over $650^{\circ}C$ in which the drastic changes of optical band gap and dielectric constant are observed. In addition, the phase transition peak is observed at $272^{\circ}C$ in the films heat treated at $600^{\circ}C$, while the dielectric dispersion is observed at near $310^{\circ}C$ in the films heat treated at $650^{\circ}C$.

  • Glass films of $SiO_2-TiO_2-M_xO_y$ (M = Co, Cr or Cu) have been prepared on soda-lime-silica slide glasses by the chemical solution method using a spin-coating technique. Commercially available tetraethyl orthosilicate, titanium trichloride, and cobalt-, chromium- and copper-nitrates were used as starting materials. No crystalline segregations of $Co_3O_4$, $Cr_2O_3$ and CuO were observed by X-ray diffraction ${\theta}-2{\theta}$ scans. From the optical transmission analysis, cobalt existed as $ Co^{2+}$ in tetrahedral coordination, chromium as $Cr^{6+}$ in tetrahedral symmetry and copper as $Cu^{2+}$ in octahedral coordination. Films with a crack-free and no texture exhibited homogeneous interfaces between the films and the substrates along the cross-section.
