Comparison and Analysis of Tomography Methods for Reconstruction of Three-dimensional Density Distributions in Two-phase Flows (2상유동장 내 3차원 밀도 분포 재건을 위한 토모그래피 기법의 성능 비교 분석)

  • Bubble behaviors in two-phase flows have been analyzed by tomography methods such as an algebraic reconstruction technique (ART) and a multiplicative algebraic reconstruction technique (MART). Initially, a bubbly flow and an annular flow have been investigated by cross-sectional view using computer synthesized phantoms. Two tomography methods have been compared to obtain more accurate results of the two-phase flows. Then, reconstruction of three-dimensional density distributions of phantoms with two and three bubbles have been accomplished by the MART method which provided the better results for the two-dimensional reconstructions accurately to analyze the bubble behaviors in the two-phase flow.

  • In this study, the internal flow field of SCR Denitrification Plant was simulated by using Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD). In order to analyze the uniformity of flow field, an interpretation on the pre-existing facilities was performed, and some moot points were identified and compensated through this analysis. The compensatory methods include the installation of the Porous Plate below the bottom of the Baffle to create uniform flow and also, and the Guide Vane was also placed in the bend of pipe to guide the flow uniformly. Lastly, the Baffle was installed to deduct equalized space distribution of the air flow, initially flowed into the SCR Plant.

  • Flow around an oscillating circular cylinder was experimentally investigated. With varying Keulegen-Carpenter(KC) number from 10 to 30 the flow field with vortex sheddings and the related hydrodynamic fortes exerting on the cylinder were measured. A newly developed PW(paricle image velocimetry) successfully captured the complex vortical flows varying with the KC number and the flow patterns were 'traverse street', 'single pairing' and 'double pairing' of vortices with increasing KC number, At a certain KC number range the lift force undergoes a transition showing little periodicity due to surrounding complicated shedded vortices.
