Recently, the technology of device-to-device(D2D) communication has been receiving big attention to improve the system performance since the amount of high quality/large capacity data traffic from smart phones and various devices of Internet of Things increase rapidly in 5G/6G based next generation cellular networks. However, even though the system performance of macro cells increase by reusing the frequency, the performance of macro user equipments(MUEs) decrease because of the strong interference from D2D user equipments(DUEs). Therefore, this paper proposes a dynamic channel management(DCM) scheme for DUEs to guarantee the performance of MUEs as the number of DUEs increases in next generation downlink cellular networks. In the proposed D2D DCM scheme, macro base stations dynamically assign subchannels to DUEs based on the interference information and signal to interference and noise ratio(SINR) of MUEs. Simulation results show that the proposed D2D DCM scheme outperforms other schemes in terms of the mean MUE capacity as the threshold of the SINR of MUEs incareases.

In numbers of kinds of heat exchanger, the shell-tube heat exchanger is the most commonly used type of heat exchanger in the industry field. In order to improve the thermal performance of the heat exchanger, this study was analyzed heat transfer characteristics according to arrangement of baffle and direction of baffle and bump phase of baffle about shell-tube heat exchanger using appropriate SST (Shear Stress Transport) turbulence model for flow separation and boundary layer analysis. As the boundary condition for CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis, the inlet temperature of shell side was constantly 344 K and the variation of the water flow rate was 6, 12, 18 and 24 l/min. As the result of analysis, zigzag baffle arrangement enhances heat transfer rate and pressure drop. Furthermore, in the direction of the baffle, heat transfer rate is more improved with vertical type and angle $45^{\circ}$ type than existing type, and pressure drop was little difference. Also, the bump shape of baffle surface contributes to heat transfer rate and pressure drop improvement due to the increased heat transfer area. Through analysis results, we knew that the increase of the heat transfer was influenced by flow separation, fluid residual time, contact area with the tube, flow rate, swirl and so on.
The Geo-Reservoir Experimental Analogue Technology (GREAT) cell was designed to recreate the thermal-hydro-mechanical conditions of deep subsurface in the laboratory. This apparatus can generate a polyaxial stress field using lateral loading elements, which rotate around the longitudinal axis of a sample and is capable of performing a fluid flow test for samples containing fractures. In the present study, numerical simulations were carried out for triaxial compression tests using the GREAT cell and the mechanical behavior of samples under different conditions of lateral loading was investigated. We simulated an actual case, in which triaxial compression tests were conducted for a polymer sample without fractures, and compared the results between the numerical analysis and experiment. The surface strain (circumferential strain) of the sample was analyzed for equal and non-equal horizontal confining pressures. The results of the comparison showed a good consistency. Additionally, for synthetic cases with a fracture, we investigated the effect of the friction and type of fracture surface on the deformation behavior.

Three-dimensional cavity flow is analyzed with the code by using unstructured grid. Incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are used as governing equations, and governing equations are discretized by Finite Volume Method. Artificial compressibility method, proposed by Chorin, and developed by Soh, is used for coupling a pressure and a velocity. Cell-centered scheme is adopted in the code, this has the effect of having denser grid than nodal scheme when the same grid is used. Weighted Averaging scheme is used for the value at a nodal point. Cavity flow is analyzed, and this computed results are compared with the results in the research report

A conservative finite-volume numerical method using unstructured meshes, which is developed by the authors, is evaluated for its application to several 2-D benchmark problems using a variety of quadrilateral, triangular and hybrid meshes. The present pressure-based numerical method for unstructured mesh clearly demonstrates the same accuracy and robustness as that fur typical structured mesh.
Numerical simulations of two-dimensional steady incompressible lid-driven flow in a square cavity are presented by a new solution code(PowerCFD) which adopts an unstructured cell-centered method. Solutions are obtained for configurations with a Reynolds number as high as 10,000 with both rectangular and hybrid types of unstructured grid mesh in order to validate the code's independency of grid type. Interesting features of the flow are presented in detail and comparisons are made with benchmark solutions found in the literature. It is found that the code is capable of producing accurately the nature of the lid-driven cavity flow at high Reynolds numbers with no grid type dependency.
Both the bubble rising in a fully filled container and the droplet splash are simulated by a solution code(PowerCFD). This code employs an unstructured cell-centered method based on a conservative pressure-based finite-volume method with interface capturing method (CICSAM) in a volume of fluid(VOF) scheme for phase interface capturing. The present results are compared with other numerical solutions found in the literature. It is found that the present code simulate complex free surface flows such as multi phase flows due to large density difference efficiently and accurately.

Numerical analysis has been carried out for two-dimensional steady and unsteady mixed convection in the annulus between co-rotating horizontal cylinders with a heated inner cylinder. The ratio of annulus gap($\sigma$) is taken from 1 to 10 and the order of mixed-convection parameter B(=Gr/(1+Re)$^2$) varies from 10$^4$to $10^0$. The flow patterns over this parameter range are steady multicellular, oscillatory multicellular or steady unicellular. The addition of co-rotating of both cylinders stabilizes the flow in the annulus and weakens the unsteadiness. Even in the large values of rotating parameter such as of $10^0$/($\sigma$=2) and 10$^2$($\sigma$=10), the flow pattern becomes asymptotic to the steady unicellular flow, like as in the rigid-body rotating flow.
This paper introduces microfluidic manipulation of microorganism by opto-electrokinetic technique, named rapid electrokinetic patterning (REP). REP is a hybrid method that utilizes the simultaneous application of a uniform electric field and a focused laser to manipulate various kinds and types of colloidal particles. Using the technique in preliminary experiments, we have successfully aggregated, translated, and trapped not only spherical polystyrene, latex, and magnetic particles but also ellipsoidal glass particles. Extending the manipulation target to cells, we attempted to manipulate saccharomyces cerevisiae (S. cerevisiae), the most commonly used microorganism for food fermentation and biomass production. As a result, S. cerevisiae were assembled and dynamically trapped by REP at arbitrary location on an electrode surface. It firmly establishes the usefulness of REP technique for development of a high-performance on-chip bioassay system.
