  • 유니버설디자인을 선박 거주구 공간에 적용하여 해상에서 재난 시 약자의 대상을 일반인으로 적용해 유니버설디자인 이론과 형태를 통해 선박의 거주구 안전이 강화되고 개선된 연안여객선 거주구 디자인을 제시한다. 연구에서 제시하는 선박에 적용되는 유니버설 디자인 10원칙을 통해 사용자 중심 디자인의 중요성을 이루고 이러한 연구를 통해 다가오는 여객선 크루즈 시장을 대비해 디자인 기초연구자료를 마련하고 고부가가치 조선업에 대한 방향을 제시하는 것에 목적이 있다.

  • The recent diversification of society surrounding libraries is influencing the services of libraries. This study suggested the directions of public library services from the aspect of the universal design based on the analysis of related systems and cases to provide all users with universal services in accord with the nature of public libraries amid rapidly changing social environment. This study suggests four directions: the "universal design" which is the keyword for pursuing universality of public library services; the pursuit of economic value of public library services based on the universal design; the universal design for the improvement of perception of public library services; change in policies and systems related to public library services through the application of the universal design.

Methodological Implications of AHP for Universal Design Evaluation Method (유니버설디자인의 평가방법에 있어서 AHP 기법의 적용 가능성)

  • This paper is about a the evaluation method for universal design on AHP method. Evaluation of Universal Design to develop indicators of the seven principles of universal design and the tripod of Design(in Japan) Review of the PPP, and previous studies were chosen with reference to a indicators. Selected variables were analyzed using the AHP technique, Universal Design 7 elements were derived weights. Factor of the most important on universal design is 'Perceptible Information'(0.263), and 'Tolerance for Error'(0.207), 'Simple and Intuitive Use'(0.154), 'Low Physical Effort'(0.143) was in order. 'Size & Space for Approach and Use'(0.108) is then shown to be important, while the 'Equitable Use'(0.087), 'Flexibility in Use'(0.038) was rated relatively low importance. Based on the results reflected a weighted evaluation of universal design checklist is proposed. Process to obtain the weights can be applied to a variety of situations.

  • 인포믹스 유니버설 서버(IUS)가 국내에서 본격 발표됐다. 지난해 2월 일러스트라사를 인수한지 거의 1년만에 양사의 기술력 결합이 '객체관계형 DBMS, 인포믹스 유니버설 서버'로 결실을 맺게 된 것이다. 한국인포믹스는 지난달 18일의 서울행사를 기점으로 대전, 대구, 부산 등지의 지방로드쇼도 이달 11~13일중에 가질 예정이다.

  • Universal Design is comprised of three main concepts known as barrier-free, adaptive and life-span design. It does not focus on accessibility for the disabled, but rather expands its breadth to the comfortable use and easy access in ail physical environments and facilities. In this study, the researcher views the present and future of universal design through the cases of kitchen design. Based on the market changes in design guidelines and the changes of time uncovered from past studies, this researcher suggests that universal design would develop through mass customization for personalized use, application of new technology and consideration of psychological aspects. Additionally, for the diffusion of universal design appropriate solution in economic cost problem, social recognition and conversion of problem cognizance in designing is needed. In Korea design models of universal design concepts are not yet in production over various fields. In order to develop and study universal design which suits our country, cultural and regional characteristics should be considered as well as physical, perceptual, psychological aspects.

A Study on the Application of Universal Design in the Public Cultural Space -Focused on the Museums and Art Museums in Busan City- (공공 문화공간의 유니버설디자인 적용 현황 연구 -부산시 박물관 및 미술관을 중심으로-)

  • This study takes cultural space facilities as the research object, trying to grasp the status quo of universal design. By selecting Busan Museum, Busan Museum of Art, and Busan Museum of Modern Art, masters the applicability and characteristics of universal design, and gets the improvements. First, through literature review, the concepts of universal design and evaluation elements are considered. Secondly, obtains five evaluation elements by analyzing previous research. Thirdly, a field survey of various cultural spaces were conducted. gains the relevant status and problems of universal design. According to the results of the detailed evaluation project of cultural space also shuowed that the Busan Museum of Modern Art, Busan Museum, and Busan Museum of Modern Art followed in order, while the average applicability of the universal design of the three cultural spaces accounts for 53.6%. In addition, the results of the average evaluation of the facilities show that the additional facilities are the best, in turn internal facilities, sanitation facilities, other facilities, and guidelines facilities. In the future, it is deemed necessary to conduct regular surveys on universal design and renovate related facilities for public cultural facilities.

An Evaluation of Library Websites with Universal Design Perspectives (유니버설 디자인 관점에서의 도서관 웹사이트 평가에 관한 연구)

  • The library is a social institution that should ensure all users' information access rights. In this study, the concept of universal design is analyzed as a theoretical basis that library Websites should be accessed equitably by all kinds of users, and an evaluation criteria is developed based on the principles of universal design. The Websites of 7 regional central libraries are evaluated with suggested criteria and the ratio of compliance of universal Web design is measured. In the result, the most of the Websites are showed not only high performances on the area of (1) Web accessibility and (2) usability, but low performances on the area of (1) equitable use and (2) flexibility in use.

  • This paper deals with the comparison of analysis methodologies by applying both Euler angle and quaternion to observe the kinematical behavior of the universal joint system used as an automotive drive-shaft. At first, conventional approaches are applied to predict a kinematical behavior by introducing only Euler angles into the universal joint system, but turns out to be lack in consistency and reliability of the analysis. Then to overcome this deficiency in numerical analysis a different methodology is proposed by using quaternion in this system. Its corresponding advantage is discussed in terms of kinetic energy, rotational velocity and rotational displacement. The application of quaternions in the numerical experiment is shown to be a more useful and valid way of establishing the ideal analytical model of the universal joint system.
