The Effects of Additives in Waste Tire/Plastic Composites Using Internal Mixer (밀폐식 혼합기를 이용한 폐타이어/폐플라스틱 복합소재의 첨가제 효과)

  • Environmental problems due to waste tire and waste plastics let us develop practical and economically feasible products. For this purpose, the characteristics of waste tire/plastic composites including various additives were examined using internal mixer. Experimental results indicated that the tensile strength and the flexural strength of waste tire/plastic composites decreased with the waste tire content. When 20 wt% of PP was added to the waste tire (60 wt%)/HDPE composites, the tensile strength was 1.5 times higher than the composite without PP, It was also found that the strain at break of composites increased by 2.5 times with 10 wt% addition of ethylene vinyl acetate and styrene ethylene butylenes styrene respectively. When 10 wt% of glass fiber was added to waste tire (60 wt%)/ HDPE composites, the tensile strength was 63% higher than the composite without glass fiber.

Effects of Organic and Inorganic Additives on Selective Non Catalytic Reduction Reaction of NOx in a Pilot Scale Flow Reactor (파일럿 규모의 흐름반응기에서 유기 및 무기 첨가제가 질소산화물의 선택적 무촉매 환원반응에 미치는 영향)

  • Effects of organic and inorganic additives on the SNCR reaction of NOx were investigated in a pilot scale flow reactor with a variation of operating parameters. NOx reduction efficiency increased with the increase of a residence time and an initial NOx concentration. NOx reduction reaction by urea solution started to appear about 850 and then reached to maximum value around $970^{\circ}C$. NOx reduction efficiency also increased with the increase of NSR (Normalized Stoichiometric Ratio) up to 2.0. Addition of ethanol and phenol as an organic additives shifted the optimum temperature window to lower region with decreasing the maximum NOx reduction efficiency. This might be due to the side reaction of hydrocarbon in ethanol structure. NaOH addition widened the temperature window and enhanced the NOx reduction efficiency about 10% due to the chain reaction of NaOH and the reduction of $N_2O$.

Manufacturing of Organic Composts from Shiitake Bedlogs (표고버섯 재배폐골목의 유기질 비료화)

  • With increased utilization of chemical fertilizer, soil fertility is getting serious problem. As a result, using organic soil conditioner (woody wastes or sawdust compost) would be only solution to recover soil vitality. In this study, manufacturing and characteristics of organic soil conditioner from Shiitake bedlogs (woody wastes) were studied. Also, to investigate the effect of continuous application of this bedlog compost on growth of plants, growth tests for radish and tree seedlings were done. The results are as follows ; Analytical results of decayed and fresh wood materials showed almost same as its wood components. The mixing ratio of raw materials with the other filling materials is essential for the manufacturing as well as good quality of its compost during composting process. In this experiment, mixing 12kg of urea, 25kg of lime, 40kg of chicken shit, and small amount of fermentation aids corresponding to I ton of sawdust resulted in good composts. Their moisture contents were adjusted to about 55%. Temperature of pile, in composting process, rose after I week and kept about above $60^{\circ}C$ for certain period. They were turned two times, 30th and 59th day, respectively, after piling. This bedlog compost contained 81.7% of high organic matter, 1.4% of a little nitrogen, 6.75 of pH and 25 - 30 of C/N ratio. There were no harmful effect on germination and growth of plants, such as radish and softwood and hardwood seedlings. Concerned to the effect of bedlog compost on soil temperature, the compost did not affect plant growth by changing soil temperature abruptly, but compensated the soil temperature such as a little increasing on the early morning, a little decreasing on the mid-day or afternoon (pm 2:00), and increasing on the early evening (pm 6:00).

  • 인체접촉시 니켈도금의 알러지 반응을 억제하기 위한 대체 도금기술인 비 시안계 Cu-Sn 합금도금을 개발함에 있어서, 황산구리5수화물과 황산제일주석을 금속염으로 하여 황산 및 계면활성제, 유화제 등을 포함한 각종 유기첨가제를 포함하였고 특히 은백색조의 외관 색상과 안정적인 Cu-Sn 합금전착을 위해 2종의 착화제인 EDTP($C_{14}H_{32}N_2O_4$)와 TEA(Triethanolamine)를 첨가한 비 시안계 Cu-Sn 합금 도금액을 도출하였다. Cu-Sn 합금도금 피막 조성의 균일화를 도모하기 위해서는 합금 도금액중의 Cu와 Sn 금속이온 농도를 일정하게 유지하는 것이 필요하다. 그러나 합금 도금액중 2가 주석이온($Sn^{2+}$)은 수용액중에서 4가 주석이온($Sn^{4+}$)으로 산화됨으로써 도금액 색상이 백탁이 되고 Stannic Hydroxide($Sn(OH)_4$, $SnO_2{\cdot}2H_2O$)이 생성되어 대량의 침전물이 침강하는 문제점이 발생되는 등 시간 경과에 따른 도금액의 경시 변화가 발생되었다. 상기 침전물은 연속여과에 의해 제거 가능하나 합금 도금액중 $Sn^{2+}$ 농도가 지속적으로 감소하게 된다. 이는 합금 도금액중 금속이온 비율이 변동함으로써 합금도금 피막의 조성비를 일정하게 유지하는 것이 곤란해진다. 이에 $Sn^{4+}$ 침전물 생성을 방지하기 위한 산화방지제를 개발하고 또한 산화방지제의 첨가에 따른 도금 피막 외관에 미치는 영향을 평가하여 외관 개선을 위한 광택제를 개발하고자 한다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 니켈도금과 동등 이상의 기능 특성을 갖는 비시안계 Cu-Sn 합금도금액을 개발하여 실용화하는 것을 목적으로 하였다.

  • The effect of organic additives such as PEG ind MPS on throwing power have been studied in the fabrication of porous reticular metal by electrodeposition using the mixture of cupric sulfate and sulfuric acid as electrolyte. Both the polarization test and the electrodeposition on the stacked electrodes, mean pore diameter of which was $250{\mu}m$, were performed to illustrate the behavior of throwing power quantitatively. As far as PEG was concerned, it lowered throwing power of electrodeposition on the porous electrode used in this work while the addition of MPS up to 500 ppm in electrolyte enhanced throwing power monotonously. When both MPS and PEG were added in electrolyte, the effect of MPS on throwing power was superior to that of PEG. However, the excess addition of MPS was found to cause the defect in mechanical strength of deposit layer. From the result of SEM observation, it could be concluded that less than 50 ppm of MPS in electrolyte was appropriate to avoid the breakage of deposit layer.

Effects of Feeding Nattokinase as Natural Feed Additives on Milk Production and Blood Metabolites in Lactating Dairy Cows (천연 사료첨가제 Nattokinase 공급에 따른 젖소의 산유능력 및 혈액성상에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was conducted to determine the effect of nattokinase (NK) additives on milk production and composition, and blood metabolites in dairy cows. The two kinds of nattokinase with high fibrinolytic activity were produced by two strains of bacteria, Bacillus amyloliquefacines (NK1) and Bacillus subtilis (NK2). Total fifteen Holstein cows (average $1.83{\pm}0.37$ parity; average milk yield $23.2{\pm}3.2$ kg/d) were randomly assigned to three treatments (5 animals per treatment). Cows were fed TMR supplemented with 0g, 100g and 100g for control, NK1 and NK2 treatment, respectively for 4 weeks. Milk yield was significantly higher (p<0.05) for NK1 (22.89 kg/d) than for control (21.07 kg/d) and NK2 (21.36 kg/d). Somatic cell counts in NK treatments were significantly lower than that in control group (58,000 vs. 21,000 and 35,000 cells/ml, control vs. NK1 and NK2). Serum ALT levels in all treatment were similar to the range of 32.00~35.83 IU/L, but AST levels in NK1 (85.67 IU/L) was significantly decreased compared with those in control and NK2 (121.67 and 117.67 IU/L respectively). Serum T-CHO levels in NK1 (145.33 mg/dl) was significantly decreased (p<0.05) compared with that in control (179.00 mg/dl) and NK2 (176.17 mg/dl). This finding showed that NK1 additives could possibly have a positive effect in lactation performance of mid-lactation dairy cows by increasing milk yield, reducing somatic cell count, improving liver function and decreasing cholesterol in blood.

  • Panel level packaging (PLP) 공정은 차세대 반도체 패키징 기술로써 wafer level packaging 대비 net die 면적이 넓어 생산 단가 절감에 유리하다. PLP 공정에 적용되는 구리 재배선 층 (RDL, redistribution layer)은 두께 불균일도에 의해 전기 저항의 유동이 민감하게 변화하기 때문에 RDL의 두께를 균일하게 형성하는 것은 신뢰성 측면에서 매우 중요하다. 구리 RDL은 주로 도금 공정을 통해 형성되며, 균일한 도금막 형성을 위해 도금조에 평탄제를 첨가하여 도금 속도를 균일하게 한다. 도금막에 대한 흡착은 주로 평탄제의 imine 작용기에 포함된 질소 원자가 관여하며, imine 작용기의 4차화에 의한 평탄제의 흡착 정도를 제어하여 평탄제 성능을 개선할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 도금 평탄제에 포함된 imine 작용기의 질소 원자를 4차화하여 구리 RDL의 도금 두께 불균일도를 제어하고자 하였다. 유기첨가제와 4차화 반응을 위해 알킬화제로써 dimethyl sulfate의 비율을 조절하여 각각 0, 50, 100 %로 4차화 반응을 진행하였다. 평탄제의 4차화 여부를 확인하기 위해 gel permeation chromatography (GPC) 분석을 실시하였다. 도금은 20 ~ 200 um의 다양한 배선 폭을 갖는 구리 RDL 미세패턴에서 진행하였으며, 4차화 평탄제를 첨가하여 광학 현미경과 공초점 레이저 현미경을 통해 도금막 표면과 두께에 대한 분석을 실시하였다. GPC 분석을 통해 4차화 반응 후 알킬화제에 의해 나타나는 GPC peak이 감소한 것을 확인하였다. 광학 현미경 및 공초점 레이저 현미경 분석 결과, 4차화된 질소 원자가 존재하지 않는 평탄제의 경우, 도금 시 도금막의 두께가 불균일하였으며 단면 분석 시 dome 형태가 관찰되었다. 또한 100 % 4차화를 실시한 평탄제를 첨가하여 도금 한 경우 마찬가지로 두께가 불균일한 dish 형태의 도금막이 형성되었다. 반면, 50 % 4차화를 적용한 평탄제를 첨가한 경우, 도금막 단면의 형태는 평평한 모습을 보였으며 매우 양호한 균일도를 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 이로 인해 imine 작용기를 포함한 평탄제의 4차화 반응을 통해 구리 RDL의 단면 형상 및 불균일도가 제어되는 것을 확인하였으며, 4차화된 imine 작용기의 비율을 조절하여 높은 균일도를 갖는 구리 RDL 도금이 가능한 것으로 판단되었다.

Effects of Natural Mineral Water on Reflux Esophagitis (역류성 식도염에 대한 천연 미네랄 워터의 효과)

  • Reflux esophagitis (RE) is a gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) caused by repeated reflux of gastric acid into the esophagus. The present study investigated the protective effect of natural mineral water on esophageal injury induced by gastric acid reflux. The cytotoxicity of mineral water was confirmed using Cell viability, proliferation and cytotoxicity assay kit. The protective effect of mineral water on esophageal injury was investigated in RE rat model. The results showed that no cytotoxicity of mineral water was observed in RAW264.7 cells. Mineral water decreased the ratio of esophageal damage, inhibited the increase of inflammatory-protein expression levels and increased the mucosa protection and tight junction proteins expression level in RE control rat. The results suggest that mineral water may have the potential to protect esophageal damage caused by gastric acid reflux and the potential to alleviate reflux esophagitis.

Growth Inhibition of Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli $A_2$and Escherichia coli $G_7$ by the Organic Acid Producing Bacteria (유기산 생성균에 의한 병원성 Escherichia Coli $A_2$와 Escherichia Coli $G_7$의 생육억제)

  • The growth inhibition of enteropathogenic Escheriohia coli $A_2$and Escherichia coli G$_7$, causing the diarrhea in piglets, by the organic acid producing bacteria was studied in vitro. The metabolites of the organic acid bacteria, such as lactic acid, acetic acid inhibited the growth of E. coli $A_2$and E. coli G$_7$ in BL medium. The more the organic acid producing bacteria have ability to produce the organic acids, the higher these bacteria excelled the inhibitory efficacy against enteropathogenic E. coli. Among the strains examined, Lactobacillus casei Y and Streptococcus faecium C showed relatively strong growth inhibition against enteropathogenic E. coli.. When the organic acid producing bacteria and the enteropathogenic E. coli were incubated simultaneously in BL medium, bacteriostasis of E. coli was observed when the pH of BL culture was lowered to 5.0, and bacteriocidal effect was observed when the pH became Bess than 4.5, E. coli. $A_2$was more resistant to the organic acid bacteria than E. coli G$_7$.
