  • 본 논문은 IEEE 802.l1b 유무선 환경 에 서 TCP를 이용한 데이터 전송 시 에이젼트를 이용하여 패킷 손실의 원인을 분석, 무선 링크에서 발생한 패킷 손실에 대해서는 혼잡 윈도우 크기를 유지하고, 유선 링크에서 발생한 패킷 손실에 대해서는 지역 재전송을 수행하는 저전력 전송 기법을 제안하고 실제 구현한다. 제안하는 저전력 전송기법 은 전송 후 WNIC를 저 전력 모드로 전환 시킴으로써 WNIC 전력 소비를 최소화 한다. 실험 결과 높은 무선 링크 에러율(1~2%)에서 기존 TCP-Reno 보다 약 18% 에너지 감소 효과를 나타냈다.

  • This paper describes remote monitoring system for the various environments of a vinyl house, which was located in rural or outer of urban by use internet web connection system in a long distance office. We have constructed remote monitoring system by use a simple experimental model for the monitoring of various factors which need to operate common vinyl house. The experimental model includes temperature, humidity, smoke and infrared sensors for the measuring and AC 220V light bulb for the controlling in the USN system. Also, we have developed monitoring software by use NI Labview and communicate between PC and sensors through the DAQ-board, USN control board. We use CCD camera and grab board for the real time remote monitoring of wanted image in the house area. The computer server for remote connection is constructed in the local PC with Apache web server, PHP and MySQL ODBC. We construct internet communication system for the monitoring remotely the local environments of a vinyl house system.

  • When we buy items in online stores, it is common to face recommended items that meet our interest. These recommendation system help users not only to find out related items, but also find new things that may interest users. Recommendation system has been widely studied and various models has been suggested such as, collaborative filtering and content-based filtering. Though collaborative filtering shows good performance for predicting users preference, there are some conditions where collaborative filtering cannot be applied. Sparsity in user data causes problems in comparing users. Systems which are newly starting or companies having small number of users are also hard to apply collaborative filtering. Content-based filtering should be used to support this conditions, but content-based filtering has some drawbacks and weakness which are tendency of recommending similar items, and keeping history of a user makes recommendation simple and not able to follow up users preference changes. To overcome this drawbacks and limitations, we suggest weighted window assisted user history based recommendation system, which captures user's purchase patterns and applies them to window weight adjustment. The system is capable of following current preference of a user, removing useless recommendation and suggesting items which cannot be simply found by users. To examine the performance under user and data sparsity environment, we applied data from start-up trading company. Through the experiments, we evaluate the operation of the proposed recommendation system.

  • In this paper, we propose an automated system. It utilizes a Raspberry Pi camera and a function generator to analyze luminance in an image. Then, it applies voltage based on this analysis to control light transmission through coloring smart windows. The existing luminance meters used to measure luminance are expensive and require unnecessary movement from the user, making them difficult to use in real life. However, after taking a photography, luminance analysis in the image using the Python Open Source Computer Vision Library (OpenCV) is inexpensive and portable, so it can be easily applied in real life. This system was used in an environment where smart windows were applied to detect the luminance of windows. Based on the brightness of the image, the coloring of the smart window is adjusted to reduce the brightness of the window, allowing occupants to create a comfortable viewing environment.

  • 고정 네트워크를 기반으로 하는 클라이언트/서버 환경에서 클라이언트가 제기하는 요청에 대한 응답시간을 최소화하기 위해 사용되는 캐슁 기법은 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서도 이동 클라이언트가 제기하는 질의에 대한 응답시간을 최소화하기 위해 적용될 수 있다. 기존의 분산 환경과 비교해 보면, 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서는 연결 상태의 변호가 빈번하게 발생한다. 따라서 일반적인 분산 환경에서의 캐슁 기법이 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에 적용되기 위해서는 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에 맞도록 수정이 되어야만 한다. 즉, 이동 호스트의 이동성으로 인하여 연결 상태가 변화 할 수 있기 때문에 이동 컴퓨팅 환경을 위한 캐슁 기법은 이동 호스트의 연결 상태 전이에 적응성을 갖도록 해야 한다. 연결 상태 전이에 적응성을 갖도록 하기 위해서본 논문에서는 연결 상태 전이 예측 윈도우를 사용하고 연결 상태 전이에 미리 대비하여 캐슁을 수행함으로써 이동 호스트의 캐쉬는 최신의 유효한 데이터의 일관성을 보장하며, 사용자에게는 신속한 응답을 수행할 수 있다.

An Analysis of the Efficiency of Korean railroad container freight station with Data Envelopment Analysis-Assurance Region (DEA-AR) (DEA-AR을 활용한 철도 컨테이너 화물역 효율성 분석)

  • Because the transport policy of Korea has overemphasized road, the physical distribution function of railroad has dwindled a great deal relatively. Recently, the railway has started to be embossed due to the rise of oil prices and environment problems, in addition the government is investing greatly in railroad. The railway corporation took a big step in its history in changing to a public corporation in 2005, and it has been making every possible endeavor to improve management. This research analyzed the trend and stability of the efficiency of railway container handling goods station in korea from 2002 to 2007 based on time of after being changed to a public corporation in 2005 in order to look into the trend of efficiency. The DEA- AR(Data Envelopment Analysis-Assurance Region) and the DEA-Window, widely used as the estimation techniques of the efficiency, were used. According to the results, the efficiency was a little enhanced in 2003 in comparison with 2002, after which it continuously decreased up to 2006 and again rose in 2007. The efficiency of the railway corporation was 0.6777, but after changing to a public corporation, it showed a trend of better efficiency after some transition period had passed.

A Study on the Efficiency of Join Operation On Stream Data Using Sliding Windows (스트림 데이터에서 슬라이딩 윈도우를 사용한 조인 연산의 효율에 관한 연구)

  • In this thesis, the problem of computing approximate answers to continuous sliding-window joins over data streams when the available memory may be insufficient to keep the entire join state. One approximation scenario is to provide a maximum subset of the result, with the objective of losing as few result tuples as possible. An alternative scenario is to provide a random sample of the join result, e.g., if the output of the join is being aggregated. It is shown formally that neither approximation can be addressed effectively for a sliding-window join of arbitrary input streams. Previous work has addressed only the maximum-subset problem, and has implicitly used a frequency based model of stream arrival. There exists a sampling problem for this model. More importantly, it is shown that a broad class of applications for which an age-based model of stream arrival is more appropriate, and both approximation scenarios under this new model are addressed. Finally, for the case of multiple joins being executed with an overall memory constraint, an algorithm for memory allocation across the join that optimizes a combined measure of approximation in all scenarios considered is provided.

Filter-Based Collision Resolution Mechanism of IEEE 802.11 DCF in Noisy Environments (잡음 환경을 고려한 IEEE 802.11 DCF의 필터기반 Collision Resolution 메카니즘)

  • This paper proposes a filter-based algorithm to adaptively adjust the contention window in IEEE 802.11 DCF. The proposed mechanism is focused on the general and realistic environments that have various conditions regarding to noise, media types and network load. For this flexible adaptation, Filter-based DCF(FDCF) takes a more realistic policy such as median filter concept in the image processing technologies. We can handle these various environments by adjusting the contention window size according to the result of filtering based on history-buffer. We can ignore temporarily and randomly occurred transmission failures due to noise errors and collisions in noisy environments. In addition, by changing the reference number and history-buffer size, FDCF can be extended as a general solution including previous proposed mechanism. We have confirmed that the proposed mechanism can achieve the better performance than those of previous researches in aspects of the throughput and the delay in the realistic environments.

  • 모바일 클라우드 서비스에 대한 요구에 따라 다양한 관련 기술들이 소개되고 있다. 이 중에서 모바일 원격접속 프로토콜은 RFB와 RDP, 두 개의 표준 프로토콜로 나뉜다. RFB 프로토콜은 구조의 단순함이, RDP 프로토콜은 빠른 응답속도가 상대적인 장점이다. 이 중, RDP 프로토콜은 윈도우즈 환경에 종속적인 제약이 있는데, SPICE 프로토콜은 이러한 RDP 프로토콜과는 달리 가상화 환경에 최적화된 오픈소스 프로토콜이다. 이러한 SPICE 프로토콜의 특징은 모바일 클라우드 환경에 상당한 이점을 가질 수 있다. 본 논문은 PC환경에서 RFB와 RDP, SPICE 프로토콜을 비교해 보고 모바일 환경에서의 활용성을 가늠해 본다. 그리고 모바일 환경에 가장 적합한 SPICE 프로토콜이 안드로이드에서 동작가능한지를 살펴보고 발생 가능한 문제점과 해결방안을 살펴보고자 한다.

A Timer-based TCP Congestion Control Mechanism for Enhancing Throughput and Fairness (전송률과 공평성 향상을 위한 타이머 기반 TCP혼잡 제어)

  • 본 논문은 TCP의 무선 환경에서의 전송 성능 감소와 패킷 왕복 시간에 따른 대역폭 선점 문제를 해결하기 위한 타이머 기반의 혼잡 제어 방식을 제안한다. TCP는 패킷 손실 확률이 많은 무선 환경에서 네트워크 혼잡에 의한 패킷 손실을 방지하기 위한 느린 전송률 증가로 인해 전송 성능이 크게 떨어진다. 또한, TCP 송신자는 전송률을 결정하는 전송 윈도우를 수신자로부터 응답 메시지를 받을 때만 조정시키므로, 패킷의 왕복 시간의 차이에 따른 전송률 편중 현상과 다수개의 응답 메시지에 의한 과도한 트래픽 발생의 문제가 발생한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 타이머 기반의 TCP 혼잡 제어 방식은 패킷의 전송 시간 간격을 타이머로 조정함으로써 무선 환경에서 전송 성능을 향상시키고 패킷의 왕복 시간 차이에 따른 전송률 편중 현상을 완화시키며 다수개의 응답 메시지에 의한 과도한 트래픽의 발생을 제한한다. 제안하는 방법은 실제 환경에서 구현되었으며, 다양한 네트워크 환경에서의 실험을 통해 그 성능을 입증하였다.
