Radio Beacon-based Seamless Indoor and Outdoor Positioning for Personal Navigation Systems (개인 휴대용 네비게이션을 위한 라디오 비컨 기반 실내외 연속측위 시스템)

  • In this paper, using the received signal strength of radio beacon such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, CDMA and GPS signal from the satellite, we propose the system of positioning which considered indoor and outdoor based on the Place Lab. Conventional Place Lab utilize the various positioning parameters to estimate the indoor location. However, this conventional system has limitations with respect to the range and efficiency of usage. Therefore, we defined the converged model of multisensor data and re-organized the Place Lab to overcome the limitation of a conventional system. Proposed system uses the radio beacon signal and GPS signal together to estimate the location. Furthermore, it provides the seamless PNS service with many mobile devices because this system realized by the OSGi bundle. This proposed system has evaluated the performance with SAMSUNG T*OMNIA SCH-M490 smart phone and the result shows the system is able to support the PNS service.

  • What Ubiquitous means "being or existing anywhere, anytime"in Latin, which is, in other words, the users are able to access the network no matter where they are, what kind of network or computer terminals they use. This paper focuses on the implementation of hardware system. The first part of the sytem is the sensor node which transmits the sensor data from node to ARM11 platform through the Zigbee network wirelessly. The other part of the system is the ARM11 platform which receives and displays the sensor data. ARM11 platform is sink node. The ARM11 platform is based on ARM11 architecture and ported with Linux OS. Qtopia is used as Window Manager in order to make applications. The highly efficient ARM11 processor, S3C6400 MPC is the main part of the ARM11 platform.

  • In recent, the interests of multi-user systems have been increased. Multi-user systems allow a number of users to access the system simultaneously. Security is one of the key issues to be addressed in a multi-user environment. We propose a solution based on the NTFS file system that provides the personal data security and considers the convenience of users. The system increases the convenience of users by simplifying the complexity of the security setting on NTFS. We also propose a variety of policies that prevent from the conflicts incurring when different users set up the personal folders simultaneously and do not set up the important folders such as the window system folders as personal folders. In addition, our system supports the function of setting up the prohibition folder lists so that no one can not set the folder to their personal folders.

A Concurrency Control Method for Data Broadcasting in Mobile Computing Environment (이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 데이타 방송을 위한 동시성 제어 기법)

  • Data broadcast has received much attention as a very efficient method for disseminating data items in mobile environment with large number of mobile clients. In this approach, a database server periodically and continuously broadcasts data items through wireless channels and clients perform read-only transactions by accessing necessary data items from the air. While broadcasting, the server must also process update transactions on the database, which raises an obstacle for client's accessing consistent data. In this research, we propose a new algorithm SCDSC(Serialization Checking with DirtySet on Commit) which is an alternative for solving the concurrency control problem efficiently. The SCDSC is a kind of optimistic concurrency control in that a client checks the consistency of data using a DirtySet as a part of data broadcast when it commits its transaction. In each broadcast cycle, the server updates and disseminates the DirtySet with newly changed data items for last few cycles in the sliding window approach. We perform an analysis and a simulation study to evaluate the performance of our SCDSC algorithm in terms of data consistency and data currency.

  • To ensure accurate measurements of wireless network performance, it should be collected real-time data which are transmitted between a large number of nodes in the actual network environment. Therefore, it is necessary to develop simulation tool for finding optimal network system design method such as media access control, routing technique, ad-hoc algorithm of node deployment while overcoming spatial and temporal constraints. Our research attempts to provide an improved architecture and design method of simulation tool for wireless network is an application of multi-threading technique in these issues. We finally show that usability of the proposed simulator by comparing results derived from same test environment in the wireless LAN model of our simulator and widely used network simulation package, NS-2.

  • 사회가 복잡하게 변화됨에 따라 온난화 등의 해결하기 어려운 새로운 문제들이 등장하고 있다. 이를 효과적으로 해결하기 위해서는 창의력과 절차적인 사고가 요구되며 이러한 능력을 키우기 위해 소프트웨어 교육이 필요하다. 이에 따라 2015개정 교육과정에서 정보교과의 비중이 증가하였으며, 2018학년도부터는 중학교 정보교육이 의무화되었고, 그 동안 실제 생활에 접목하여 문제 해결력 및 컴퓨팅 사고력을 향상 시킬 수 있는 피지컬 컴퓨팅이 도입되었다. 하지만 고등학생의 경우 이전 교육과정에서 새롭게 도입되었기에 피지컬 컴퓨팅 수업이 진행되기가 쉽지 않다. 본 연구에서는 고등학생의 피지컬 컴퓨팅 구현 능력 향상과 이를 통해서 문제 해결력 향상에 어떠한 영향이 있는가를 알아보기 위해서 피지컬 컴퓨팅 교육 프로그램을 위한 과정으로 오래된 운영체제에서만 사용이 가능한 구형 프린터기의 드라이버를 최신 운영체제에서도 사용이 가능하도록 프린터 드라이버를 커스터마이징하여 윈도우 10에서도 사용이 가능하도록 하는 소프트웨어 교육을 설계하였고 이를 고등학생에게 적용하기 위하여 학생들의 사전 사후 검사를 실시하고자 한다. 자원의 재활용과 환경적인 측면에서 그 동안에는 신제품 구입 후 빠른 IT환경의 발전 및 변화로 멀쩡한 하드웨어를 폐기하고, 최신 운영체제에 대응하는 하드웨어를 새롭게 구입해야 했으나, 본 교육과정을 통해 각 가정에 있는 구형 프린터의 재사용을 위한 프린터 드라이버 제작이라는 선순환적인 교육목적을 추구하며 소프트웨어 교육이라는 본질 측면에 좀 더 가까이 다가가며, 해당 하드웨어 제품에 대한 소프트웨어의 저작권 교육도 함께 진행할 수 있으며, 잘 만들어진 소프트웨어의 경우 새로운 시장을 창출할 수 있도록 하는 계기가 될 것이다. 학생들의 흥미에서는 좋은 반응을 보였으나 실제 문제 해결력을 위해서는 저변 확대가 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 오래된 구형 하드웨어를 최신 운영체제에서도 사용할 수 있도록 하는 과정에서의 실생활에 적용되는 유용한 피지컬 컴퓨팅을 보다 효과적으로 사용하기 위해서는 프로그램의 설계에 대한 지속적인 연구가 필요할 것이다.

Outlier Detection in Time Series Monitoring Datasets using Rule Based and Correlation Analysis Method (규칙기반 및 상관분석 방법을 이용한 시계열 계측 데이터의 이상치 판정)

  • In this study, detection methods of outlier in various monitoring data that fit into big data category were developed and outlier detections were conducted for both artificial data and real field monitoring data. Rule-based methods applied rate of change and probability of error for monitoring data are effective to detect a large-scale short faults and constant faults having no change within a certain period. There are however, problems with misjudgement that consider the normal data with a large scale variation as outlier caused by using independent single dataset. Rule-based methods for noise faults detection have a limit to application of real monitoring data due to the problem with a choice of proper window size of data and finding of threshold for outlier judgment. A correlation analysis among different two datasets were very effective to detect localized outlier and abnormal variation for short and long-term monitoring dataset if reasonable range of training data could be selected.

Expert System for Stress Diagnosis of Cucumber and Tomato Using FoxPro (FoxPro를 이용한 오이와 토마토의 생육장해 진단 전문가 시스템 개발)

  • An expert system was developed for the stress diagnosis of cucumber and tomato using FoxPro. The principle points in building the system were integration with Korean, effective processing of mass information, and easy access for non-experts such as farmers. The method of inferencing was forward chaining based on pattern matching. Knowledge base was expressed with IF∼THEN rules and was expressed in the form of tree. Also, the expert system was designed so that additions and modifications of all information could easily be performed on windows. The results tested by farmers with the developed system showed that the expert system was reliable for the practical use. It was expected the expert system could be directly applied to the stress diagnosis of other vegetable plants by modifying only data bases.

An E2E Mobility Management and TCP Flow Control Scheme in Vertical Handover Environments (버티컬 핸드오버 환경에서 종단간 이동성 관리 및 TCP 흐름 제어기법)

  • In this paper, we propose an end-to-end mobility management and TCP flow control scheme which considers different link characteristics for vertical handover environments. The end-to-end mobility management is performed by using SIP protocol. When a mobile node moves to a new network, it informs its movement of the correspondent node by sending SIP INFO message containing a new IP address which will be used in the new network. And then the corresponding node encapsulates all packets with the new IP address and sends them to the mobile node. in general, RTT of WLAN is shorter than RTT of cdma2000. when the MN moves from WLAN network to cdma2000 network, TCP retransmission timeout will be occurred in spite of non congestion situations. Thus, TCP congestion window size will be decreased and TCP throughput will be also decreased. To prevent this phenomenon, we propose a method using probe packets after handover to estimate a link delay of the new network. We also propose a method using bandwidth ratio of each network to update RTT. It is shown through NS-2 simulations that the proposed schemes can have better performance than the previous works.
