This paper presents a time-domain based asynchronous IR-UWB ranging system. This system accomplishes the ranging by detecting peaks from the outputs of a correlator implemented by a FIR filter. To discriminate the peaks due to a signal component, we use windowing for the correlated data within which the data are sorted in amplitude-ascending order and the noise level is calculated. Comparing with the recently presented frequency-domain based ranging system, we show the system structure and explain how it operates for ranging. Moreover, through the simulations, the proposed system is compared with the frequency-domain based system in terms of performance.

현재 스마트폰 시장에는 다양한 모바일들이 등장하고 있다. 심비안과 윈도우 모바일이 주를 이루던 모바일 업계에 애플사가 iPhone을 들고 나타나 큰 반향을 일으켰다. 애플사의 iPhone은 앱스토어라는 새로운 시장을 창출하여 모바일 폰의 거대한 변화를 일으키고 있다. 그리고 이제 구글이 지원하는 안드로이드가 나타나 자리를 차지해 나가고 있다. 휴대폰뿐만이 아닌 다양한 모바일 기기에 안드로이드 플랫폼이 올라가고 안드로이드가 우리 생활의 구석구석을 차지 할 것이다. 본 논문에서는 현재 부산버스노선, 지하철노선의 어플리케이션이 다른 지역에 비해서 개발이 미흡한 실정이다. 시민들이 많이 이용하는 버스, 지하철에 대한 정보를 스마트폰에서 구현함으로써 사용자가 실생활에 편리하게 이용할 수 있게 버스, 지하철에 대한 노선정보, 대기시간, 환승정보, GPS를 이용하여 현재위치에서 역검색을 할 수 있게 한다.

As Web based knowledge and technology is needed for librarians in the digital environments, it should be educated through the Department of Library and Information(DLI) courses. For importing the courses in DLI, we go through several preliminary stages. First, the role and duties of web masters in digital libraries are figured out. Second, it is known that the tendency of MLS courses in American universities is toward to adopt the web related subjects, but still not in Korea. Third, the survey finds out the recognition of web masters in Korean university libraries about the functions and abilities web masters. As the results, we suggest several subjects for the web master's training. They are HTML, XML, Window NT and Web Server Management, Javascript and Java, Networks, Mutimedia Programs, Programming, and LINUX.

It is difficult to run 3D graphics based application on the embedded system with hardware constraints. Therefore, such a system must have a systematic infrastructure which can process various operations with respect to 3D graphics through any graphic acceleration module. In this paper, we present a method to implement 3D graphics acceleration device driver on Tiny X platform which provide an open source graphics windowing environment. The proposed method is to initialize the driver step by step so that the direct rendering infrastructure can use it properly. Moreover, we evaluated overall 3D graphics performance of an implemented driver through a simple but effective benchmark program.

본 논문에서는 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 발생하는 실시간 이동 트랜잭션을 효율적으로 처리하기 위한 트랜잭션 관리자를 제안한다. 제안된 트랜잭션 관리자는 기존의 종료시한만 고려하던 방법과는 달리 이동 호스트 때문에 발생하는 실시간 데이터의 유효성도 함께 고려하여 트랜잭션의 실행여부를 판단한다. 그 후, 트랜잭션의 중요도와 종료시한을 고려한 우선순위 큐에 최적의 실행 윈도우를 생성하여 스케줄링하고, 실행될 트랜잭션을 선택할 때는 이동 호스트와의 접속 단절을 고려한다. 따라서, 제안된 기법은 실시간 데이터의 유효성 제약조건 위반에 따른 트랜잭션의 철회 후 재시작을 감소시키며, 종료시한을 만족시키는 실시간 이동 트랜잭션의 중요도의 합을 최대로 하는 장점을 가진다. 이 기법은 이동 통신, 응급 재난 구조 시스템 등에서 발생하는 실시간 이동 트랜잭션의 관리자로 적합하다.

Agricultural Policy/Environmental eXtender Model(APEX)는 전 농장 또는 소규모 유역 관리에 활용하고자 개발된 모형이다. APEX는 사용자들을 고려하고 다양한 형태로 개발하였다. 사용자들이 사용하기 쉽도록 윈도우 인터페이스 형태의 WinAPEX 모듈을 개발하기도 하였으며, ArcGIS 프로그램과 연계하여 다양한 지리정보시스템을 사용할 수 있는 ArcAPEX 모듈을 개발하기도 하였다. 그러나 WinAPEX 모듈은 유역에 대한 정보를 시각적으로 확인할 수 없다는 단점을 가지고 있으며, ArcGIS 프로그램은 유료의 라이센스라는 단점을 보유하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위하여 APEX 모형을 GNU General Public License 기반의 Open Source Geographic Information System(GIS)인 Quantum GIS(QGIS)와 연계하여 QAPEX 모듈을 개발하고자 하였다. QAPEX 모듈은 오픈소스 기반의 QGIS 프로그램과 APEX 모형을 이용하여 무료로 사용할 수 있으며, 사용자의 편의를 위해 유역에 대한 정보를 시각적으로 확인할 수 있다. 뿐만아니라 QGIS는 사용자간의 정보 및 자료 공유에 용이한 장점을 보유하고 있어 QAPEX를 이용하는 사용자들 간의 정보 공유로 인해 원활하고 지속적인 개선이 이루어 질 것으로 기대된다.

A data acquisition and processing system. using an IBM PC, an AD converter, and a printer, has been developed to monitor rapidly and significantly varying signals. The sister takes live signals and computes and displays the trend of the moving averages of the signals in real time. The system has been applied to monitor the shaft horsepower and revolution and the speed of ships for their speed trial. The reliable interpretation of the measured data using moving average can eliminate unnecessary arguments between the owner and yard on the performance of the newly built ships. Other applications of the system-inspection of engine hunting, providing data for ship maneuvering analysis, vibration data analysis, extending to the ship performance monitoring system-are also demonstrated and discussed.

The riles or intellectual property on computer systems have increasingly been exposed to such threats that they can be flowed out by internal users or outer attacks through the network. The File Outflow Monitoring System monitors file outflows at server by making the toe when users copy files on client computers into storage devices or print them, The monitoring system filters I/O Request packet by I/O Manager in kernel level if files are flowed out by copying, while it uses Win32 API hooking if printed. As a result, it has exactly made the log and monitored file outflows, which is proved through testing in Windows 2000 and XP.

This paper investigates the network throughput of PLC (Power Line Communication) system in the in-building network. The OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) modulation format and adaptive bit loading algorithm is used to minimize the effect of signal loss and noise on transmission performance in the power line channel characterized by frequency selective fading. The network throughput of the PLC system which consists of gateway and CPE（Customer Premise Equipment) PLC modem in the in-building network is measured by network performance measurement tool, iperf and analyzed according to the TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) window size.

For safe storage of agricultural products in the cold storage house, accurate monitoring of temperature, humidity and gas conditions is necessary. This study was conducted to develop an environmental monitoring and warning system for the cold storage house to improve safety of storage. The system developed in this study is able to monitor temperature, humidity and $CO_2$concentration in the storage house and to send alarm signal to the farmer by telephone and beeper when abnormal conditions have been occurred in the storage house. And the developed system use internet network so we can supervise storage conditions in the home. From the results of the performance test, it was found that the temperature and relative humidity can be controlled within the range of 0.5$^{\circ}C$ and $\pm$2 percent. And farmer's response was fair.
