A Study on Classification System for using internet information resources on Interior Design (인테리어 디자인 분야 인터넷 정보 자원 활용을 위한 분류체계 연구)

  • This study is aimed to grasp the organization of Internet information resources and to infer the characteristics of resource search engines so that criteria may be established to classify and evaluate Internet information resources. In addition, the author has compared and analyzed interior design classification systems of directory sites of each subject that provide classification system based on the Internet, foreign sites to be used to search for information, and domestic information-specialized sites in order to set up models of interior design classification systems of directories of each Web subject. The systems have been analyzed against such four measures as comprehensiveness of the subject scope, logicality of classification systems, preciseness of subject terms, and effectiveness of searches. Information of interior designs is mixed with that of related fields, and so its information search and classification are not organized systematically. The author has analyzed such a problem so as to present models of search engine classification systems for interior design information classification after considering both academic and practical aspects.

A Qualitative Study on the Experience of Visually Impaired Researchers in the Acquisition and Use of Scholarly Contents (시각장애 연구자의 학술정보 획득 및 활용 경험에 관한 질적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to describe the experience of visually impaired academic researchers' use of scholarly contents and to explore intrinsic nature of the experience. In-depth interview was conducted with a total number of twelve visually impaired academic researchers and the data were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological research method. A total of 107 significant statements were extracted, divided into 44 themes and 12 theme clusters. The statements were then classified into four categories. The 'scholarly contents acquisition and use' category has to do with difficulties that these experience when negotiating with internet sites with poor web accessibility and full-text availability. The 'changes in perception and emotions' category deals with transitions in perception and mood experienced by visually impaired academic researchers' over time. The 'relationships with support personnel' category includes issues related with the difficulty of securing support person, support person's inadequate level of competence, and establishing/sustaining personal relationships. Finally, the 'improvement requirements' category includes issues that these researchers want resolved with regard to contents acquisition and use.

A Dynamic Sweep Scheme Enabling Scheduling Period Expansions for Continuous Media Playback (연속매체 재연에 적합한 스케줄링 주기 확장을 허용하는 동적 Sweep 기법)

  • With fast advances in computing power and network technologies, online streaming services of continuous media (CM) have been popularly implemented on the Web. To implement such services, a variety of CM streams need to be processed efficiently, so that the Sweep scheme was proposed. This scheme has several advantages such as hiccup-free playbacks and seek-time optimization. In this scheme, however, the entire CM streams are scheduled with a single scheduling period, called a cycle. Since only one scheduling period is allowed in this scheme, a significant amount of disk time is usually wasted because of its inflexible disk schedules. To solve this, we propose a new dynamic Sweep scheme. For this, we devise an algorithm that is able to expand scheduling periods of serviced CM streams and propose a new admission control mechanism guaranteeing hiccup-free playbacks. To show performance gains, we execute various simulation experiments. From the experimental results, we can see that the proposed scheme outperforms the Sweep scheme in terms of disk utilization and scheduling flexibility.

A Study on Learning Environment Design Model for Enhancing Creativity in Engineering Education (공학교육에서의 창의성 증진을 위한 학습환경 설계모형)

  • This study examines the possibility of a learning environment design model for enhancing creativity in engineering education. Recent studies about the online support system and the blended learning pertinent to creativity have provided us with some new perspectives on how to teach the creativity in engineering college. A learning environment design model was developed to enhance the creativity of the engineering students. A model was developed by following three steps: finding out the general principles for enhancing creativity in engineering education by reviewing the relevant literature; extracting the theoretical components for the model by categorizing the general principles; and finally, developing specific guidelines based on those theoretical components. Seven general design principles and three theoretical components could be identified, and a set of specific design guidelines was suggested. The result of this study is significant in terms of guiding the future development projects for creativity education.

Digital Storytelling Application for Modern Transformation of the Traditional Portrait -Focusing on the Portrait of Hong Do Kim- (전통 인물화의 현대적 변용을 위한 디지털 스토리텔링 적용 모색 -김홍도의 도석인물화를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to apply the digital storytelling to the traditional portrait which includes the various historical and personal stories for modern transformation of it. In the general understanding of traditional paintings, there is a oversimplified analysis of the narrative about traditional portrait. Considering the contemporary cultural context, the multi-dimensional study on the various modern meanings of the traditional portrait are very essential. This study examines the digital storytelling application of the traditional portrait of Kim, Hongdo and applies for modern transformation. This research has the implications for modern transformation of traditional art that broaden our understanding of the various traditional portrait includes ideological and aesthetic significances by the digital storytelling.

Developing a Conceptual Model for Measuring the Electronic Commerce Success of Online Game Websites (온라인게임 웹사이트의 전자상거래 성공측정모델의 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Most online games today are provided via a website interface. Researchers found that various aspects of a game website importantly influence the success of the online game business. This paper aims at identifying key site-related quality factors affecting the success of online casual game websites and creating a model for measuring such success. To meet this end, we extracted basic factors from the literature and expanded them through a Delphi survey method in which domain experts were asked to identify key quality factors of online game websites. Then we performed a questionnaire survey using online game users for an empirical analysis. The results revealed that information quality, service quality, and system quality are all positively related to user satisfaction and that an increase in user satisfaction leads to an improvement in both gamer loyalty and business outcomes. However, it was found that gamers' loyalty does not necessarily increase business outcomes. The paper offers practical as well as academic implications based on the research findings.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the research trends and the present conditions of real digital texts on "Visual Transformation." For the purpose of this study adopted two different methods: meta analysis and case study. The research trends on visual transformation of digital text were investigated through analyzing the total of 167 literature by means of synthetic meta analysis. Relevant literature was categorized into three types of research: functional, dynamic, and interactional transformation. The type of literature and research methods in each literature were analyzed. The present conditions of real digital texts on visual transformation were investigated by means of case study. The well designed 12 e-learning contents selected and analyzed in terms of the analysis framework which was drawn by the research trends. The results suggested problems as follows in designing e-learning contents. Firstly, there were some cases that did not follow the basic design principles related to typography. Secondly, the content was just provided in each learning steps without consideration of design to enhance text comprehension in many cases. Thirdly, web technology adequately was not applied to design e-learning contents.

An Exploratory Study on Linking ISAD(G) and CIDOC CRM Using KARMA (KARMA를 활용한 ISAD(G)와 CIDOC CRM 연계에 관한 탐색적 연구)

  • Archival description is considered as a creation and curation process, and the results of the descriptive records can be used for archival information service. Therefore, various archival descriptive standards provide essential guidelines for establishing a semantic and synthetic structure of the archival records. In this study, the structural aspects of the archival descriptive standards were analyzed and an experimental mapping between General International Standard Archival Description (ISAD(G)), the archival standard, and CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model (CIDOC CRM), the domain ontology of cultural heritage field was performed. The data structure of ISAD(G) is examined in advance and mapping was performed using Karma as a platform. It was thus concluded that there is a need to understand the ontology-based mapping method and the event-focused domain ontology. Moreover, developing a CIDOC CRM-compatible archival ontology and restructuring the legacy ISAD(G) are needed.

  • Internet technology is universal, news from the Web browser, shopping, search, etc., various activities have been carried out. Its size becomes large, increasing the scale of information security incidents, as damage to this increases the safety for the use of the Internet is emphasized. IE browser is ASLR, such as Isolated Heap, but has been continually patch a number of vulnerabilities, such as various protection measures, this vulnerability, have come up constantly. And, therefore, in order to prevent security incidents, it is necessary to be removed to find before that is used to exploit this vulnerability. Therefore, in this paper, we introduce the purge is a technique that is used in the discovery of the vulnerability, we describe the automation technology related thereto. And utilizing the known vulnerabilities, and try to show any of the typical procedures for the analysis of the vulnerability.

Comparative Study on the Usability of Semantic Zooming Methods for Efficient Web Browsing on Internet Protocol TV (Internet Protocol TV 환경에서 효율적인 웹 탐색기법의 사용성에 대한 비교 연구)

  • Recently, Internet Protocol TV technology has a latent power for searching information by using internet-connected interactive TV media. It is hard to browse and search web site conveniently since the visual and input devices are not sufficient for navigating through the websites. Zoomable user interface is a possible solution that may reduce users' task load and improve their performance. In this paper, we made three types of web browsers as scroll, physical zooming and semantic zooming type. Fifteen participants asked to do searching tasks and their task time, accuracy and subjective responses are recorded. In the result, though scroll type is evaluated more efficient than other types in task time and accuracy since participants are familiar with scroll type interface, semantic zooming type is highly rated in subjective responses such as perceived searching efficiency, satisfaction and joyfulness. This result implied semantic zooming is a possible solution which is improving user experience of searching websites using Internet Protocol TV.
