A Design and Implementation of SpO2 Wearable Device for Companion Animals in PPG Signals

  • The most basic thing to measure the condition of a companion animal is to check the breathing and pulse. There are several methods to measure the breathing and pulse of a companion animal, and the PPG method is generally used to measure the oxygen saturation (SpO2) in a companion animal. However, since the input PPG signal is inputted with various information as well as oxygen saturation, it is necessary to separate and extract oxygen saturation information from the PPG signal in order to measure the oxygen saturation. Therefore, in this paper, a wearable measuring device for companion animals that can be measured by applying the PPG method was designed and implemented, and an algorithm for separating oxygen saturation information from the PPG signal input through the wearable measuring device was proposed.

  • In this paper, we propose a low-cost wearable device that can monitor the health status of the elderly living alone in real-time. As aging is accelerating, the elderly population is rapidly increasing, and the social isolation of the elderly living alone is causing physical and mental difficulties and the number of elderly people dying alone is increasing, becoming a social problem. In this study, we propose a belly band-type wearable device that can monitor the biometric information of elderly living alone. The proposed device transmits electromyogram, electrocardiogram, and body temperature information to a remote server through an Arduino-based sensor built into the abdominal band. Transmitted information can be monitored in a web environment in real-time, and it has the feature of enabling remote monitoring of a large number of subjects with a small amount of management manpower. The research results will contribute to improving the safety and welfare of seniors living alone by not only detecting lonely deaths in advance but also responding immediately to dangerous situations that may occur in daily life.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 시대가 도래함에 따라 크고 작은 수많은 컴퓨팅 장치들이 집, 사무실, 자동차 등 도처에서 지원되고 있으며, 손목시계형, 목걸이형 등 소형 액세서리 웨어러블 컴퓨터도 다수 출현하여 사용자에게 보다 편리하게 정보를 제공하고자 하는 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 웨어러블 컴퓨팅 장치는 사용자를 위해 정보를 제공하는 입력 장치로도 사용되고 있으나, 정보를 표현하고 제공하는 좋은 출력 장치이기도 하다. 본 논문에서는 다수의 입출력 장치들과 연동하여 다중 피드백을 효과적으로 지원할 수 있는 피드백 인터페이스 프레임워크를 제안하고, 손목밴드형 시스템에서 구현한 결과에 대해 논의한다.

  • 요즘 등산객의 수가 늘어나고 있으며 이에 따라 등산에 관련된 옷들과 장비들이 출시가 되고 있다. 이처럼 등산객이 늘어나고 새로운 등산복과 장비가 출시되었지만 해마나 등산 사고율은 여전히 증가하고 있다. 등산 사고 중 추락/낙상는 등산사고의 많은 비중을 차지한다. 이러한 사고가 일어났을 경우 빠르게 대처할 수 있는 방법으로는 다른 등산객이 구조대를 호출하는 방법 외에는 없다. 특히 혼자 등산을 하는 도중 추락사고가 일어나 혼자서 구조요청을 할 수 없는 상황이거나 정신을 잃었을 경우는 더욱더 그 상황을 대처하기가 힘들다. 본 논문에서는 자이로센서, 가속도센서와 지그비센서를 이용하여 등산객의 위치와 움직임의 방향 및 속도를 측정하여 근거리 무선 통신을 통해 실시간으로 스마트폰에 정보를 전송하여 사용자에게 알려 주는 기능과 추락/낙상 사고가 일어났을 경우 지정되어 있는 핸드폰으로 구조요청 메시지를 보내고, 구조대를 호출하여 초기에 대처할 수 있는 효과적인 방법을 제시하였다.

  • In this Paper, we propose a Real-Time Localization Platform Built on WUSB (Wireless USB) over WBAN (Wireless Body Area Networks) protocol required for Wearable Computer systems. Proposed Real-Time Localization Platform Technique is executed on the basis of WUSB over WBAN protocol at each sensor node comprising peripherals of a wearable computer system. In the Platform, a WUSB host calculates the location of a receiving sensor node by using the difference between the times at which the sensor node received different WBAN beacon frames sent from the WUSB host. And the WUSB host interprets motion of the virtual object.

  • In this paper, fall detection using individual wearable devices for older people is considered. To design a low-cost wearable device for reliable fall detection, we present a comprehensive analysis of two representative models. One is a machine learning model composed of a decision tree, random forest, and Support Vector Machine(SVM). The other is a deep learning model relying on a one-dimensional(1D) Convolutional Neural Network(CNN). By considering data segmentation, preprocessing, and feature extraction methods applied to the input data, we also evaluate the considered models' validity. Simulation results verify the efficacy of the deep learning model showing improved overall performance.

  • As the number of households with companion animals increases, the demand to monitor the health of companion animals in remote locations far away is increasing. We are going to put a wearable device on a companion animal so that it can monitor the heart beat signal from a remote location. However, the monitoring method using Bluetooth has some disadvantages. it can be accessed only in a short distances. In case of WiFi, large power consumption is the problem. To overcome these issues, we propose a system to reduce power consumption by indirectly receiving a user's request using Bluetooth at a time when the user does not need it, and sending sensor data through WiFi when the user makes a monitoring request.

  • 2019년 통계청의 보고에 의하면 1인 가구 수는 전체 가구 수 중 29.9퍼센트인 603만 9000가구로 600만 가구를 돌파하였고, 계속해서 상승 추세에 있다. 1인 가구 비율이 상승함에 따라 반려동물 사육 가정의 비율 또한 상승하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 반려동물을 사육하는 1인 가구를 위해 반려동물의 생체데이터, 활동량 등을 웨어러블 기기를 통해 측정하고, 센싱된 데이터를 원격으로 모니터링할 수 시스템을 제안한다. 아두이노를 이용하여 반려동물의 온도 등의 생체데이터와 활동량 체크를 위한 가속도 센서 데이터를 측정하고 와이파이 통신을 이용하여 데이터베이스 서버로 전송하는 기기를 구성하고, 센싱된 데이터를 사용자가 다운받아서 데이터를 분석, 모니터링할 수 있는 모바일 앱 인터페이스를 제공한다.

  • 최근 미래 컴퓨터 기술에 대한 연구로서, 인터페이스 부분에 초점을 맞춘 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 현재 웨어러블 컴퓨터(Wearable Computer), 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅(ubiquitous Computing), 가상현실(Virtual Reality), 멀티모달 인터페이스 기술 등 다양한 인터페이스 기술이 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 폰 카메라를 이용해 손가락 움직임을 인식하는 알고리즘으로 KTF v1.1 Emulator 를 이용하여 모바일 게임을 위한 멀티모달 인터페이스로 적용 가능성을 제안한다.

  • In this paper, we propose a vibration notification system that combines navigation information and wearable bands to ensure safe driving for the transportation vulnerable. This system transmits navigation driving information to a linked application, converts it into a vibration signal, and provides notifications through a wearable band. Existing navigation systems focus on providing route guidance and location information, so the driver's concentration is dispersed, and safety and convenience are deteriorated, especially for those with mobility impairments, due to standard vision and delayed recognition of stimuli, resulting in an increasingly high traffic accident rate. To solve this problem, navigation driving information is converted into vibration signals through a linked application, and vibration notifications for events, left turns, right turns, and speeding are provided through a wearable band to ensure driver safety and convenience. In the future, we will use cameras and vehicle sensors to increase awareness of safety inside and outside the vehicle by adding a function that provides notifications with vibration and LED when the vehicle approaches or recognizes an object, and we will continue to conduct research to build a safer driving environment. plan.
